TTK's Garage Analysis - Part 1

Welcome, everyone, to my garage analysis. Here, I will be discussing all of the purchases I have made up until my current rank - Lieutenant Colonel, and some of my plans for the future. I will give each item a grade out of ten, when I bought it, and what I thought about it.

M0s

I started out using Hunter and Thunder, and heavily MUed both of them. My Hunter had as much health as a Titan, and my Thunder did around 60 damage per shot! I also bought all of the turrets and hulls at M0 except Ricochet and Freeze. I later bought Viking M0, and switched to that.

Hunter M0

As I said before, I started with Hunter M0. The main problem I had was it's lack of stability. I tried to fix this by MUing it's weight, but that didn't work. Also, the handling confused me. I didn't really enjoy it at first. I rate it a 6/10.

Thunder M0

Thunder was recommended to me by the friend who introduced me to Tanki. If you're wondering, he is still a Sergeant-Major. I MUed the damage, impact force, and turning speed. My main goal was to be able to one-shot Wasps. One weird thing was that I never really had any issues with crystals. I've seen articles (I'm looking at you, Hairbrush) saying how terrible it is to MU M0s, but I had no problems. This pulled me through the lower ranks, and deserves a solid 9/10.

Viking M0

Viking M0 was a lifesaver for me. Hunter had a lot of problems, especially stability. This fixed all of that. I soon had more than 150 armour on mine with MUs. This made me switch from the weird handling of Hunter to the smooth, predictable handling of Viking. This easily deserves a 10/10.

M1s

This stage was really when I stepped up my game; I had three goals for this part: Thunder M1, Viking M1, and a good protective paint. I settled on Corrosion.

Corrosion

This. This is probably the best purchase I ever made. It is the most beautiful paint (in my opinion) and I had no reason to not wear it. I MUed it like crazy (the next MU will cost 18k crystals) and never took it off until Halloween 2015, when I used the Holiday paint a bit. The only thing lacking was the Railgun protection. That's it. 10/10

Viking M1

I used this thing for a long time, and it did not disappoint. I remember buying it around WO2 on a beach trip, and I joined a certain Subway CTF, where I recall rekting the other team with my new shiny M1. I used this as my main combo with Thunder for an extremely long time, until my first M2. The last time I used it was when I ranked up to Lieutenant Colonel, and I had 190 armour on it with some MUs. One of my best purchases. 9/10

Thunder M1

I bought Thunder M1 during the New Year's 2016 sale, and this long-awaited upgrade took me through First Lieutenant. I MUed this a bit, and it was extremely effective. Light hulls were dead meat, and medium hulls were not too difficult to kill either. Amazing purchase, especially when I learned to midfield in Rio CTF. 9/10

Hunter M1

I got Hunter M1 along with Thunder M1, on New Year's. I believethat Hunter M1 is the best M1 hull, but I never really used it a lot. Why? Because I had so many MUs on my Viking M1. One upside to this thing was that I caught my first gold box with it. It was also pretty good in the Happy New Year! map, and worked amazingly with my Shaft M1. 7/10

Shaft M1

I bought this because of Thunder's lack of damage at long range. It was pretty good in Madness CPs, especially with Hunter. The different scope was pretty cool, too. I never really used this much, unfortunately. 7/10

Titan M1

I got this for only one reason: on the Happy New Year! map, there were two huge enterances in the front. My job was to sit in front of these and get hit by all of the Shafts while I killed the attackers with my new Thunder M1. Not really good at all. 5/10

M2s

This is where I am now, but I've decided that I don't really need any more M2s. I put a lot of thought into this part, and planned to start with the Fortress kit. It took me three months to save up for it, and this was really where I started growing up in Tanki.

Fortress Kit

I had planned for this kit since Third Lieutenant, and started down the long journey for this kit. Fortress, in case you are unaware, contains Thunder M2, Mammoth M2, and Rustle paint. This kit feels like it was designed for Polygon CPs, which I had recently discovered. This is perfect for camping under the ramp, or just being the defensive rock in the center.

Thunder M2

The M2 modification of my favorite turret was absolutely worth fighting for. It can now fire very quickly, so fast that it seems absurd. It still has high damage on light hulls and medium hulls, and is decently effective against heavy hulls. This turret now has good damage at long range, and the splash damage feels very high. It turns quickly, fires quickly, kills people quickly, and absolutely destroys any and every Hornet-Railgun I meet. This gets a 10/10.

Mammoth M2

This hull almost made me switch from Viking to Mammoth completely. It's very effecive in Polygon CPs, and made my kill ratio go from 1.27 to almost 1.60! It is a gold box machine, and is good at defense, midfield, and even attacking at times. This gets a solid 9/10.

Rustle

Rustle is a great paint-looks decent, and has awesome protections. 20% from Freeze means that I can react a bit quicker to Freezes, meaning that I can survive just a bit longer. 32% from Thunder makes splash damage a thing of the past. 10% from Isida is a bit less useful, but still helps a bit. This module is perfect for Polygon CPs. I just wish it had more from Isida. 8/10

Hornet M2

Ugh. Probably the worst purchase I have ever made. It's too weak, too unstable, and if you understand what I mean, too fast. I would return it if I had a choice. Hornet (and light hulls in general) isn't really my cup of tea, as I prefer to be alive for more than 10 seconds. 3/10

Firebird M2

With that thing out of the way, here's something I absolutely love. I thought Firebird was a noobish weapon, but now I know the kind of skill and knowledge it takes to use this weapon effectively. Firebird ombines amazingly with Viking M2, and also looks beautiful. I like to use this in Polygon CP or Noise CTF. It kills light hulls in about 2 seconds, recharges amazingly fast, and a full tank is more than a match for any heavy hull. The only issue is the low afterburn. This thing easily earns a 10/10.

Viking M2

I've saved the best for last. I just recently bought the M2 modification for my favorite hull, Viking, and it is amazing, and O-V-E-R-P-O-W-E-R-E-D. It is beautiful, maybe even the most beautiful, and is fast, heavy, and difficult to kill. I use this with Thunder as a midfielder/attacker, and with Firebird as an attacker/defender. I use it in Polygon CPs with Firebird to kill any enemies who try to retake the point. 10/10

The Future (M3s)

My main combination is Thunder/Viking, so I will definitely get that M3 in the Raiden kit. I also want to get another M2 module, perhaps one with Firebird, Vulcan, and Hammer protection. I might also get Railgun M2 for XP/BP, and Firebird M3, since it is so effective. Other than that, I have no other plans. New Year's sales are coming soon, so I might get Railgun and the module then. But until then, see you!

Well Pdox and I, so it seems, have been editting/proofreading this article at the same time. So, when I saved my changes after Pdox was already done the forum saved my edits over his.

Not to worry though, because it doesn't seem our edits were so differwnt. Just the classic rephrasing, a few grammar changes and of course a bit of formatting wouldn't hurt either.

Anyways, nice article TTK, and a message to all you young readers out there with a pasion for writing, I have a peice of advice for you: captalize thy I's. ;)

Nice article.

Viking M2...Did I not convince you to buy that?

Seriously, after the Bulldozer kit, Viking M2 was the best purchase I ever made.

By the way, in the part where you buy Hornet M1, you've labelled it as 'Hunter'.
