What has happened to TO?

If they can't make the game playable for 25000 players (which they don't) and it used to be playable for 100,000 players (like 2 years ago) then they have to assume they ran those 75,000 players off. If they didn't run them off then they are just incredibly stupid. They don't want to support this game anymore because flash is difficult to program and they don't have programmers to do it and keep it running properly. With unity, the programming is much easier. I have to assume they want this game to die hoping it will translate into enough players to make money in tanki x. The problem for them is no one is joining tanki x and few players from tanki are likely to join and it is costing them everything to try and maintain 2 games. Now there is no way to get players back to tanki because of how they have screwed the players, along with the ever-increasing crashes and lag. They hope for tanki x but it is not good. So I guess they die. The screw as many of us as they can before they die then they just move on.

..... Either that or they just grew up. Got a job and now just plain don't have the time to play. As in many cases of alot of my good friends on here leaving

dude u gotta chill man its just a game save ur poetic lines for ur school essays

First, i dont need any essay for any school,i finished university like 10 yrs ago but i wont give up on this as half of you already did. I understand, most of players are just as you, teenagers or pupils so you dont see further than just ''it's a game'' but i do and i wont stop on this.

To answer the Topic's name (a question): TO has gone to hell, lol. There's a reason I don't play anymore. I just come every now and then to see what's "new".

Let me try to explain a veteran's point of view.

When I started here arnd 6 years ago, the contingent was well mature, initially the game was rated 18+ and the battles were took really seriously.

We were (many if not most of us) grown up people with established habits of discipline and team-work and on top we played with passion and dedication that excluded any leisure riding along.

Joining just for fun and not playing with determination to help your company win - well, that was so rare ... almost unthinkable.

How can you enter a team mode and ask for parkour or ask for Gold or ask for peace or join just to linger around ???

All these show a total lack of integrity and responsibility - teens have no understanding of that, it's just that their age spares them many moral issues.

Alas, step by step, the game was being made noobs and kids friendly and adolescents started to plague the servers.

Now ... it's like a kindergarten ... just look at any random battle - tankers either dash to the enemy base or simply sit and shoot with no clear understanding of their duties, respective to their equipment - there are no defenders, no midfielders, no attackers, no supporters  - just one amorphous mass in Brownian motion, waiting for Gold ...

what more to say ...

People don't have "moral issues" in a video game, especially one like Tanki Online.

No offense but when you talk about "integrity" and "responsibility" (which are good and important qualities) you are in the wrong place. Most teens and kids play video games to escape "responsibility".

Exactly my point - a mature person is obliged to keep one's "integrity" and "responsibility"  even if incognito !

That's why teens and kids don't belong here - team games are not suitable for them in general ... and surely TO is not an appropriate place for juveniles - there are plenty of one-character games out in there, that need little brains if at all !

Quite an unnecessary stereotype, if you ask me. Especially, considering that most of the helpers team keeping the community clean and organised is comprised of these 'irresponsible' and 'little-brained' teens. The apparent deterioration in player quality is not because of teens and kids but rather increase in playerbase in general. When the game was new, it had a small population and was shared mostly amongst hardcore gamers. Eventually all kinds of people started playing including those who are dedicated to games, those who just play for some relaxation, those who play to escape real life, those who see games as a place to vent their frustration... And so on and so forth. And even though you might think otherwise, these personalities are hardly age dependant. I can name at least 10 players who are 30+ and yet troll around, play with no apparent morals and ethics, freely abusing players in chat and forum. On the contrary, I know some teens who wouldn't do any of that even if provoked to maximum extent. Also, I doubt Tanki could've remained 18+ for any length of time. There's not really any mature content in it. And, as I said, even keeping it 18+ wouldn't have prevented such players. Because they exist at all ages, in all places.

Are you kidding me? Teens and young kids don't belong here?  You are such a selfish person, I must say.  You should welcome younger players.

here came the troll again ))

I am not KIDding you, unless you are a KID )))

Seriously - there are many, might be hundreds of games for young players and only a few that can mol qualify as suitable for adults ... TOF is one of the latter kind ... that's what makes it unique !

I don't go to play (and ruin the entertainment) in TankiX or Barbie Online or in the Little Ponies or what so-ever the kids play, so I am kindly asking expecting the juveniles to stop messing around with the adequate players here !

good post, though - makes sense in most of its parts and makes me take some notes !

surely, I am not generalizing abt age, but it's one mindset till 25-30 and quite different after that ... usually (yet not necessarily) for the better )))

and ... yours is kind of sad ... it's implementing that what was once lost in TO RB 2012 might never be the same again ...

but there's hope still - the devs are working hard to make the population small again - the online is steadily decreasing year by year )))

so, what's the fun for me here ???

Me and my few associates (we're of different ages indeed) have to harass the poor noobs ... as a kind of revenge for the good game-play they taken from us ... and because there's simply nothing else left to do ... ???

I understand TO is suitable for adults, that's partly why I spend time with it.  That doesn't mean you have to resent the kids that play and say they ruin the game. They have just as much a right to play this game as  well.

If you want a game for just adults, why don't you code your own game? Or just start a Facebook account. :P

You won't believe it, but I did   B)

unfort, it took only a while, before I got bored ... yes, my daughter lives in it, but apparently I am not trendy enough )))

and to close the case, have to admit, that though I earn relatively well, still can't afford the notorious 911 Turbo S to ease the mid-life crisis )))

then, you can ask me abt futures, but I am a noob in coding, so TOF will remain one of the few virtual places, where I can spend some time and money in return for good emotions ...

Tanki in 2010 was far better...game wasn't centered around the Almighty dollar, staff was clean (Yeah I'm taking a hit at Staff today, a lot of you guys are corrupt as hell. Sorry, warn me, ban me, whatever the hell you wanna do. Not gonna change what me and a lot of the "Vets" know and have discussed before on several occasions).

Gameplay was alot less of a headache...I'd HONESTLY have a hacker in my game than a Mult(s) or Saboteur(s), because they were taken care of. On the other hand today; BARELY anything is done to rid the games of these new abominations.

Garage equipment was balanced a lot better...although it seems they've recuded the top rank for M3 equipment similar to the older days of Tanki...but at the cost of nerfing them? L.O.L.

Crystal income was better. Not including the crystal boxes because we all know what that did. And this is all tied to the garage and what it once was.

Let's exclude drugging eh? There's already a dead topic about that. But I'll say this: it was a lot more efficient, effective, and profitable unlike today.

Kits? Screw em.

Micro-upgrades? To hell with that too.

Perhaps if the two above-mentioned issues weren't Tanki's idea of putting holes in my wallet and kept the games even, maybe I'd reconsider my opinion. And hell, I spent money in this game!

Probably the most frustrating features now is CLASSING Lights Mediums and Heavies, virtually making them (in their respective weights) equal to one another. I don't know who's "brilliant" idea that was, but they need to get looked at. Immediately.

All in all, there are a number of factors that made 2010 Tanki better than...pfft, the last few years of Tanki alone. Sad really. I only hit on a few issues that I've heard about and have taken looks at, let alone the crap I experienced prior to me quitting.

Game should've been left alone after the Rebalance in my HONEST opinion. Screw this game now, lol.

Oh yes I have my moments where I look back at the old Tanki and try to compare it to what we have now...it's almost like an entirely different game here.

Looks good to an outsider (like a new player), but on the inside is another story. It's like that apple you get: you're eating it, it's all crunchy and sweet...then when you're caught up in the delight, you bite off a bad bit all rotten out with worms in it.

You're not the only dinosaur here, that remains to be seen. If you looked around a bit you'll find some. I can't think of any right now at this present moment though.

As for my 'stamina' though, I ran out of it a few months back; July to be exact...it's sad to be sitting on the sidelines watching what USED to be a game I fought for...hang itself. As for you, and anyone else who wishes to continue playing? Hats off to you. As for me, my journey has long past been complete.

As far as one point I mentioned in my previous comment: Tanki may be a game that the developers can make some sort of "profit" from, but it's STILL a game, and you need to make it to where those who use THEIR time (or even their hard earned cash) to play it, actually ENJOY it. Don't completely flip the script just use this game as a means to get YOUR paycheck and go, "Damn what the players think, we'll make whatever changes we want! As long as we rake in some paper! (money)"
