The same changes have made on Vulcan, Isida Fire and Freeze and in Tanki X. So Tanki X and Tanki online ar two completely different games.

Apparently that Tanki online became lab rat for Tanki X .

Tanki doesn't check everyones garage before making changes. This nerf was necessary. I used to kill M4 combinations with my Stock M3 vulcan, so it was definately unbalanced. This hasn't be released yet so don't jump to conclusions already. Wait till tomorrow and then we'll see ;)

Dude, politely speaking, you are deliberately misleading players here!

This comment reminds me of this FOX who tried to help those two bear cubs ... Moral of the story is irrelevant to current situation here, though tankionline™ definitely comes to picture as the dirty old fox! Here is the story

I don't see how I am doing so, if you do, please let me know ;)

For the vulcan part, I used it today myself, and it is NOT as bad as everyone was thinking.

They have a special brigade of "analytics" to check everyone's garage, they know how many active turrets and hulls are out there, they even know how many points player obtained by using certain weapon!

Dude, as i said, you are deliberately misleading players here, in other words you are just another "back kisser", who would write anything to please his superiors!

A very tiny advice for you ---> I have seen few hundred staffers here in tanki who "come and go", you guys are "expendable material" for tanki, so in the end it is your dignity, which will stay with you! so try not to lose it!

btw, you asked for an answer up there! There you go, you got your answer! ;)

URGENT:

I'm experiencing more lag issues on larger maps when playing free battles, I think my connection isn't fast enough for what is now all free maps with full players.

Previously I could create battles with half the number of players to not suffer lag.

So, my suggestion is make the system create battles with less players too, example: Cross with 5 players per team instead of 7, Noise 6 per team, Rio 6 per team, Sandbox 3 per team, etc.

I know about the ProPass, just haven't decided yet.

Thanks.

No. Half-full battles are boring, biased, and they are inconvenient.   Really, you should get a better computer instead if you want to play Tanki, instead of asking them to make a decision that will make tons of players unhappy based on your situation.

Ofcourse they do know which are the most active hulls and turrets, but that was not the thing which was answered by me. The message I tried to convey was that devs do not be like 'Oh hey, this guy bought this turret and microupraded it a lot, let's nerf it!'

For the 2nd part, Im not 'Tanki Staff' Im just a helper. And being a helper does not influence my words, of whatever I post on the forum. I post what I think is right, and I have no fear of anybody. If being sensible, and applying a little bit of brain is called 'back kissing' then sure I'll take it. As all that I can see you are doing here, is nothing, but create a mess.

Also, if you want to like continue talking about this thing and not the update, please use the PM feature.

Go read your concerning "first" message dude, facts are right up there for everyone to see!

You said, i quote!!! "Tanki doesn't check everyones garage before making changes." -

And that was a deliberate misleading from a staffer/helper/or-a-minor-crystal-earner-for-providing-assistance.

And about your "Hey this guy ..." comment ... i am not going to follow the dummy as you want me to!

About me creating a mess here, well, it is not true either, I am just stating facts as they were, and keeping people in line and putting people at their places when needed. It is not creating a mess but helping others!

About the PM, I invite you to start PMing me instead of telling me to do so!

You asked for an answer and that was exactly what you got there!

I quote! See ---> "I don't see how I am doing so, if you do, please let me know" -

I think this upgrade sucks and it is obvious! <---See, this post is about the upgrade too. ;)

The funny thing is that I think the changes in battle creation was a good idea. I hated drug battles. I didn't buy a Pro Pass because there was hardly any player at my rank who had it. Since non-Pro players cannot join to Pro Battles, I would've wasted my crystals.

Now it's recommended to have a Pro Pass if you want to create or join battles on maps you like, or you want to finish your missions in less time. I think it was a great decision. The price is nothing, even if you only play your missions every day, you can collect enough crystals in less than a week. Yay, no more drugger battles for me!

Nevtelen4.jpg

You see? This is my Daily Mission today. More than 2000 crystals in one day. And you haven't even counted the battle fund. And it's quite easy to reach these goals, finishing first place is guaranteed if you play 1v1. 150 XP in DM is easy and fast. So is getting 5 DA boxes. The price of my Pro Pass was 2600. I bought it just before ranking up to save some crystals (I know, I'm smart).

Then this update happened. My Vulcan is nerfed so badly that it's worthless even on maps where it was the best before. Just an example:

M3 equipment is available from Marshall rank (maybe 1-2 ranks before if you buy kits). This means if you're in the yellow star range (Brigadier and up), you'll probably face M3s (M4s) with your M2 tank. It sucks already but in case of Vulcan: Now your M2 Vulcan is weaker than the old M1, so you actually can play with M1 against M3/M4. Play on a map which won't favor your turret (Monte Carlo for example) and you'll be annihilated without even a small chance to kill someone. You know, not everyone plays only Polygon. If there is only Polygon in TO even I can agree with nerfing Vulcan/Freeze/Firebird. But there are countless other maps, where other turrets are OP.

So what should I do? Buy crystals and get all turrets? That's what you want? No, I won't. I spent some money on crystals but if I'm competitive only if I buy more... Well, good bye Tanki Online. You won't be missed.

Hey all. I understand that some of you may not be happy with these changes. But remember that the results after every change are being closely monitored, and further tweaking will be made according to what our analytics show us, exactly as what happened with Isida. I'm not saying the changes will be reverted, but we'll continue making small tweaks regularly with the ultimate aim of achieving a better balance in the game.

Do you think nerfing Vulcan (damage before overheating) by 25% was a small change?

Dear Mr.Cedric,

I know you are a reasonable guy, so i hate this situation where i might end up hurting your feelings :(

Mate, If tanki wants to IT can balance these imbalances in matter of few hours, this whole Balance imbalance thing came to Tanki not for the sake of Balancing anything but to ...

Well, there you go, i said it out loud without making a huge fuss out of it! (not bad for an average paisan like me!)

Vulcan M4, damage in 2016

(M4s are usefull if you want to compare old stuff to new stuff)

600 in September

(it was 60.00)

660 in Oct/Novemer

(damage increase by +10%, Vulcan players kept smiling a lot, while noone understood that move. Especially as heavy hulls got weaker, while light and mediums stayd aprox. the same)

540 in December

(damage decrease by aprox -20% = a lot !!!, paired with faster overheat, that reduces the damage by some additional percent)

This is one of the reasons, why players lose trust in the kind of analytics that Tanki runs. Those analytics lead to heavy fluctuations over the years, instead of continous adaptations.

This is also one of the reasons, why players lose trust in the reasons we are told - because they are simply not visible in numbers, nor on the battlefield.

The motivation is simply different:

  • players care for a balance of power (as it hurts us to be slaughtered)
  • Tanki stated it cares for balance of diversity (same usage on all turrets and hulls)

Won't both those motivations lead to same result? The only way to make sure all Turrets get used is by making them all effective.

No,no, no, and no. Those are completely different things. I posted an explanation somewhere, I'll try to copy/paste it, as I don't want to write it all again.

Edit: Also, the decision to nerf a turret/hull is partly based on it's popularity. This is completely inaccurate for two reasons:

1. Most F2P players under Legend rank only have 1 or 2 turrets and 1 or 2 hulls. So if their turret is nerfed, they are forced to still use this turret. This gives Tanki a false impression that the turret is still balanced.

2. Some turrets/hulls, based purely on their playstyle, appeal to a larger portion of players. For example, hornet tends to be popular at the mid ranks not because Hornet M2 is strong, but because many players like being "fast" and "clever" and "strategic", as opposed to using a Titan. I would use hornet or wasp even if it was nerfed again, but this doesn't mean I think it's balanced, I just like the playstyle.

Balanced usage of all hulls and turrets is NOT GAME BALANCE:

Because more people use a certain piece of equipment doesn't mean it's stronger than the others.

stop crying about vulcan already, it was way OP, and all of you know it, after all that's why all the new accounts after the SEP2016 rebelance have Vulcan as main wapon.

and about isida, we don't want it to have strong demmage again, isida players should HEAL, not kill, if they want to kill players, there are other wapons for that, like fire, twins, smoky...

but i'm sure that all players agree to this: make up your minds already about the parametres, and stop changing it, we got sick of it already.

  1. Good luck to you tanki, from now on i will only play when I am really fedup with rest of the games.

I just checked out tanki X.  It's terrible.  The gameplay is not even close to tanki levels.  The controls are bad.  The maps are much smaller.  The graphics add nothing.

Things are not looking good in tanki land.

i know what you want to say my friend, Vulcan is only strong on some maps heh ?

you are wrong, Vulcan-after the rebalance- become way OP in ALL maps, I myself was thinking about making an account just for Vulcan because i tried it, and i saw how strong it really become, needless to say i think god i didn't invest time on that Vulcan account now  :P

one more thing: Isida need to have more healing power than killing power, that's for sure, it's a healing turret NOT a killing wapon.

absolutely not. I_already_won explaind it quite nice; and I like to add only a little bit:

If all turrets were balanced by power, then the players could choose what they like, select a map where they can play well.

(balance by power = having simmilar battle efficiency if used correctly. Example: Firebirds work good on Serpuchov and Kungur too, but simply not on all parts of the map. Same goes for Rail, on the same map, but on different parts of it. But Rail would be OP if it oneshots Vikings without DD, while fire would be OP if his targets explode after 0.25sec)

If Tanki balances for Diversity, then this means they contradict the communities choice for turrets (none belives 9% of the community love fire, 9% freeze, 9% rail, 9%, 9%, 9%...). In order to achieve that, they have to force players to use something, they actually do not like as much as other stuff.

How to force someone to use some less popular equipment? -> By over/underpowering it.

or in other words:

the way to archieve balance of diversity, is corrupting the balance of power.

(another way would be over diversity of maps, I wrote it somewhere, maybe you find it)

No. I'm saying Vulcan was OP on some of the most popular maps like Polygon and Sandbox. Do you think Vulcan was OP on Monte Carlo? Or Brest? Or Arena? Or Island?

If I only play Monte Carlo should I cry because the OP railguns always destroy me?

That's the problem. I will never use Firebird because it's boring to me, even if it'd become the most OP turret.

Hm.. Interesting. I never thought about it that way myself. But I'd say that devs do take into account map diversity and game mode popularity into consideration when making changes to game balance. If there are twice as many large maps than small maps, then they wouldn't try to reduce number of Railgun players or increase Isida players by deliberately making it OP/UP. It doesn't make sense. So, when they say balance, they don't actually mean exactly the same percentage of players using each equipment, but rather that none of the equipment is being discarded due to it being UP or the other way round (No equipment being overpopular due to its OP nature). Even here, some considerations have to be made. For example, Hornet is extremely popular despite not being OP but it does well as an all rounder. So, devs won't try to undermine it's abilities just because it's popular but only if it's parameters are making it much better than others in some way.

look, let's not play games here, you have Vuclan as main wapon, you account is made after the rebalance (after Vulcan was made OP) so my point still stands, and one more thing, this balance is good cause we all tired of the vulcan wars we've seen these days...don't get me wrong, i'm good with vulcan, i just don't like it that's all, and i'm happy it's not OP anymore...cause we won't see it that much in battles  :D
