Hello,

All of you remember THE GAME, right? Takes place at the beginning and middle of the year (I think). However, even though a lot of us remember how this works, the majority of the newbies don't know what the hell they're supposed to do with a sign that says, " :excl: HELP ME WITH THE GAME :excl: " or something. Ha(lf of them don't even know what they're supposed to do (I didn't when I started). And, by the way, if you guys could somehow increase awareness of new updates, instead of just that in-game notification when you log in, that'd be nice.

THE GAME is just like a contest. Also it does give in-game notifications everyday a new quest video is out. I don't see a reason why and how should people be made more aware about it. There's in-game notifs. Big banner on the Tanki Main website and the News and Announcement section of the forum. Its more than enough.

I didn't know what "THE GAME" was until GeeVuh brought it to my attention but it only took a second to click on a Youtube video to work it out. Seems pretty straightforward.

Kudos to whoever came up with "THE GAME". I like it as a bi-annual event for those who like to solve a puzzle (like me) but for I think there's still more scope for basic monthly Easter eggs - some players may be disinterested in "THE GAME" or perhaps aren't good puzzle solvers but would like to hunt for a hidden object etc.

I'm suggesting that they should make a mini-tutorial, based on previous quests. Like, if this guy found this tunnel in Osa and got to the end, chances are he's not going to know what the heck he's supposed to do with it. Give the newbies an idea of what they're supposed to do, not just a bunch of videos.

The notifications aren't for THE GAME, I'm asking for improved notifications of updates. It'll decrease the amount of extra work a chat mod has to do, because a large amount of players don't read the updates.

I'm suggesting that they should make a mini-tutorial, based on previous quests. Like, if this guy found this tunnel in Osa and got to the end, chances are he's not going to know what the heck he's supposed to do with it. Give the newbies an idea of what they're supposed to do, not just a bunch of videos.

The idea of the GAME is that only the smartest, fastest and most experienced players get to work their way towards the prize. Newbies can just follow along and if they are smart enough, they'll figure out that all the answers get posted in the forum discussion topic (which you can get to by clicking the link in the game pop-up and then clicking the link in the news page). From there they can just look at the kind of process that players have to go through to get answers and for their next GAME, they will already have an idea of what they might need to do and look for.

 

The prizes for the GAME are pretty impressive, so it shouldn't be made easy.

I think you're asking for two different things, right?

I don't know that a mini-tutorial would be necessary. I think it just needs one well articulated V-Log demonstration to show players how to play.

 

As for the notifications, I've always thought that the notifications look like unwanted pop-ups, so it's no surprise players aren't reading them. One simple change that would help would be to change the appearance by making the notification screen and font size bigger and give it a fresh look, so players are more inclined to read them than close them.
