How much research do you do to get the best out of Tanki?

How much time do you spend on the Wiki to figure out a general Idea of how you can complete a goal? For me, I'm a free player and have purchased Voltage last rank. As of now, I have 39,744 crystals. I dream of purchasing Northerner without buying. I've calculated that I have a high chance of purchasing Northerner During Major or early into Lieutenant Colonel. Knowing as much as I do, I've figured I don't need to be a buyer to be able to obtain two M2 kits.

Unfortunately the Tanki Wiki isn't particularly informative and a lot of stuff could potentially be added if devs agreed to release the information and if the Wiki could be edited by anyone (although there are downsides to this). My job as a moderator-consultant requires me to research a lot and know things about the game, so I do naturally spend a lot of time looking for information and reading articles. A lot of it is just to answer a question asked by someone else, but a lot is also to satisfy my own curiosity and assist me with progress in the game.

But to be honest, other than calculating prices for equipment and MUs, there isn't much else to research in this game, compared to some others.

This makes me curious. Could you name some information on the game that you miss in the wiki (not to criticize the wiki editors, but it may be just due to devs decisions and the role understanding of the wiki)?

Out of the top of my head - mission probabilities.

This is something I kinda know, but it would be nice to know exactly what the probability of each mission is, as well as the size of rewards you can get. The wiki only lists the types of missions and the fact that crystal and supply rewards are separated 50/50.

I do not do any research unless I plan to invest in a MU sale I will calculate how many crystals it will cost me to get how many steps on whatever item I want to MU and then find the stats of that item at that step for that price and decide if it is worth it or not. That can take about an hour and a half, but you use the MUd item for much longer than that so it is worth it.

The most valuable info for me in the wiki is the comparative pricing of equipment :P

That and maybe the list of module combinations. For everything else, I like to bank on my in-game experience over numbers. Numbers are so wonky. They screw me up.
