Smoky dealt more than maximum damage

Is it possible for weapons to "malfunction" and do more/less damage than they are suppost to do?

 

I landed a critical hit with smoky that did over 2000 damage. I was using double damage at the time but the maximum possible damage for an M4 is 1420 and mine isn't upgraded that much. :wacko:

There is an extremely small possibility weapons inflict damage values outside the range between minimum and maximum damage at close range. However, a variance of such scale as you described is impossible. Are you sure you read the number right?

I had my Thunder M2 deal 3.5K damage, its caused by lag displaying the total damage for all your shots rather than one at a time.

This happens with my twins, when there is lagg it shows the total damage instead of per shot, this is common in high fire rate weapons like smoky and twins.
