Was going to get the new alteration for my Hammer, but Tanki's bugs and issues had other ideas to remove it from my account, no I've been waiting for days or any kind of help with none so far.

Pretty sad on Tanki's part if you ask me.

I tested it, result:

One shot; with 35% Striker protection:                                              One shot; with 33% Thunder protection:

My Hornet has almost 2000 HP and the minimum damage Striker can do is 665. As you can see in the left pic, only 25% of my HP has been taken away, which is less than the minimum damage, while in the right pic, almost 35-40% of my HP has been taken away (well within range of the damage). This leads me to believe only a Striker module will protect you against self damage from Striker.

Cool idea to test it out :)

Unfortunately, your rockets can deal any damage between min and max damage, and each single shot is different (propability of dealt damage is according to bell curve distribution; check wiki > in depth game mechanics > Smoky  (as for Smoky the explanation is the most matured one at the moment)).

If you dont want to make 20 tries and get an average value, I propose this shortcut:

It would be usefull if a friend of yours is in DM with you, and he is right infront of you, when you shoot him. He wears no protection, so you can see the damage points you dealt by this individual shot. Then you can evaluate your healthbar, and check if your protection helped you or not.

But anyways it is Stirker protection for sure :P

You are right about that, but like I explained in my post, it's impossible to do less than the minimum damage, while in the left picture that clearly happened. That can only happen if my module protects against the turret. On the other hand in the right picture, that is not the case. Even if the missile would deal the maximum damage (817), with a 33% protection module, it would only inflict 547. Clearly less than what actually happened.

For now the Striker is a very bad weapon. Have u tested this turret in a real fight or did u just put one tank in front of the other and check their strength before deploying it. Who will sit for 3 seconds on one place waiting for striker to aim and then sit for one sec more, waiting for missiles to come? And if u shot one by one, even the thunder is more powerful.  I strongly recommend to the devs  and all other in charge to reconsider this one.

Tnx!
Happy new year!

You are right, I must have missed this logic in your post.

Thanks again for testing that and posting it :)

Seems powerful enough (actually too powerful) to me.

Striker best when...

- targeting someone fighting another opponent.

- target has little room to maneuver.

- many targets close together = splash damage

- Striker up high with good view - see Noise Red team

- larger open areas where the lock-on will follow heavy-medium tanks.

Many situations where it works. Maybe not as good one-vs-one... but - it can launch single missles without using lock-on.

The average damage of a Striker missile is the same as Thunder's average damage.

Last time I speeded-up camera this forum crucified me. Remember? That was over a year ago.

http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=268249

And you deserved it, you caused a lot of people nausea, anyway how about buffing twins since it's already an underused turret

And making the alterations for twins all positive and no negatives ?

Its impossible to see difference between shaft aiming at you or striker aiming at you. (Laser uses same texture)

So maybe Light blue laser for blue team and orange laser for red team?

What if the M0 alterations will change that?  :D

By the way the turret turning speed of Striker is a lot higher than Shaft's turning speed. Because of this the Striker laser jerks around a lot and seem to not keep the focus on your tank but in general it still has the aim and by all the weird laser movements, you can know it's a Striker aiming for you.

A Shaft laser is moving smooth and reasonable  ;)

Striker campers just put their laser in 1 area and doesnt move it at all until it sees someone. Shaft does the same thing so if you think its striker aiming there but actualy isnt then you die.

1.Self-damage at close range.

2.It is very hard to shoot at long range since enemies can easily escape.

3.When you are just about to shoot(fully-charged) and an ally comes infront of you(self-destruct).

4.Aiming is harder, sometimes you wouldn't know which side is the missile going to come from?

5.Laser easily gives out your location

6.Charging up takes too long,I very rarely get rekt from long range.

Overall, this turret is a weaker version of Thunder! and I advice newbies to stop wasting crystals on this turret.

What do you mean? I was 71/4 and then 86/5 with it in Madness.

It's a matter of opinion. Thunder is the absolute best turret for some tankers, but the worst for others. Same goes for every other turret like Striker.

I got a 24/3 on a low ranked account with it and I sucked with it, but then again I was playing with people who have yet to turn their turrets for the first time xD
