You got no facts so move on. Never said to remove nor I hate striker so where are your facts at? I'll let you to calm down since you're butt-hurt.

If the enemy is really close to you than I doubt you can miss the missiles getting hit.

I only provided you with one suggestion, and you act as if I offended you. Maybe you should calm down.

I've only seen you moan and complain about problems. Where as I've been trying to put out solutions to the problems as I see fit. (Some may have been a bit ridiculous, but most of them made sense)

In this case you were butt-hurt because someone that really knows how to use striker kept on two shooting you with double damage, and I gave you a solution, in the form of striker protection and this solution makes perfect sense.

You can take it and not be two shotted by a striker on Double Damage when using a medium hull, or you can refuse to take it and continue being butt-hurt by it.

Don't forget all the missed shots.  Unlike turrets like Thunder, smoky, etc... Striker is hardly guaranteed of hitting targets.

Slow missiles = lots of missed shots.  On average you are doing way less than 1600 every 1.85 seconds.  Unless you have stationary targets. Don't count on that very often.

Yes , medium distance its ok , large distance is more luck to hit something then anything else . Medium range , and like CP maps , you'll see strikers , because you will always hit the crowd gathering at the point , and youll get the splash . Its not rare to get like 3 kills at once on such occasions . On CP many hulls are rather static , since they need the point . Striker does not have many shortcomings , if aiming would improve it would be massively OP , since at the moment it is allready much stronger then thunder . A striker in the right map is a force not to be forgotton . Its very tricky to master , few 100 hours training ... well thats maybe a bit too much , but a few hours are certainly needed  .

I only said that its possible to kill a hull in less then 4 seconds , and ive done it on multiple occasions .

I agree - there are situations where it's useful.  CP battles are one of them.  And massacre map where there's relatively open terrain is another.

But the slow missiles mean it will miss quite often at any distance further than short-medium range.

The aiming is funky and salvos rarely get used because of the laser and easy interruption of lock-on.

I have more than a few hours on the the turret and overall I don't find it efficient.

It sits in my garage in lieu of Ricco - which sadly is waaaay better at any distance.

I would give up some of the damage striker deals, or a bit longer re-load, if it would be tweaked to get more hits.

even if it did 5000 damage per missile... well 5000 x 0 hits still = 0 damage. :(

Nope not luck. If I am at one end of Osa and you at the other I expect to hit you. But this was not always the case. After 400+ hours it is.

Yep. Difficulty to use and aim has masked its power and/or caused most player to give up on it. OTOH most of its power comes from the splash effect which in general has been made too common and too powerful in TO.

Open terrain is fun shooting but Striker is a force is urban areas too.  The offset launchers allow you to shoot with exposing less of your hull. But mostly lots of walls mean lots of splashes.

I suspect there are just some folks who will have a knack for this turret and some who will have an 'anti-knack'. When I was starting I could not use Freeze or Hammer worth diddly. Everyone has their sweet- and blind-spots.

Striker should probably therefore have some alteration that makes aiming easier at the cost of smaller warheads and/or much less splash. But TO seems to have abandoned the alteration project half-finished and plans to leave it that way.

Assuming that you were shooting out of the same corner of the wall, that would only 50% of the time. The other 50%, you would be exposing more of your hull since the rockets alternate between barrels.

Correct but more often than not you can shoot from either side of the house / wall / rubble.  Other times the 2nd shot is not needed. Obviously nothing works every time. I'm just saying Striker's not just for the open steppes.

Striker m1 alteration: double barrel removed

Single barrel replaced

Striker m2 alteration: Missile speed 300% increased

Damage +5%

Salvo: 3 missiles

I think it will be more like this

M1 splash damage removed / selfdamage removed

M2 lock on -50% time  ( makes 1.75 m0 to 1.5 m4 ) / damage -30% .

the m1 alt would be good for close encounter ( but nobody would use it i'd say , quite similar like thunder alt ) . The m2 alt is interesting since you could use the salvos a lot more , but you need to since your damage is drasticly gone down also . It can lock on targets faster then it can shoot , you have to wait 2.5 to 1.8 seconds at any moment between salvos anyway .

But this is all speculation , there is no talks about alts anymore ... ( shame on you tanki developers , halfway system implemented ) .

Yup - seems like they have abandoned the alts in favor of overdrive.

So they should just do a less drastic tweak... lower the lock-on time so it actually becomes usable and lower the damage some ~ 20%.

There is absolutely not going to be a one-launcher striker. That would be a new turret new graphics new everything not an alteration.

If they made alterations for this I'd suggest something that makes it easier for new users but reduces damage potential.  So skilled users would reject it.  Sort of lhow the Isiad and Vulcan alts might be described.

But after this long alts for Striker would be sort of moot ,,, even insulting to the player base. Meh .. what do you expect from amaeteurs?

Striker alt should be some thing like the rico one

Incresing projectile speed and lesing the curve

What curve ? The rocket goes 100% straight , only way you have a curve is when they are locked with salvo and they follow the locked tank .

When stationary and launching single missiles I've noticed an arc to the missiles path.  It does not always go 100% straight.

That's true. The missile does not always go 100% straight. It's pretty easy to dodge the single missile, if you move backwards from a medium distance, obviously you will dodge it. But from the close distance you will not be able to dodge the shot.

Not always? You mean it happens at random times?

Or a fixed arc due to the barrel design?

I am Brigadier and I played Polygon DM today to complete all 3 missions. I used Hunter M0 with full MU, Ricochet M1 with 5 MU, Cedar paint and poor LGC module. I had k/d near 1. One of the other players had M2 Viking Striker and he had k/d about 0,5. Skilled player. So Striker needs a buff.

If he was a skilled player and was using striker, he should be having a k/d of about 3.0 or higher

Everything K/D related  is highly unreliable as saying skilled or unskilled player . A agressive player gets killed a lot more then a camper . Same on the maps , lets say this player likes to play noise , blue team ( downstairs ) and he always goes up for getting the flag . Well highly surprised if he gets even close to 1 .

More reliable for this are A : how many hours on which gamemode / B : how many hours on the turret C xp earned during those hours  .This will give you a better rating since you can see how many xp /hour gameplay he gets . It doesnt say all , but it certainly is better then the K/D ratio .

I agree.

High K/D can result from...

- never playing isida

- never going for a flag

- lots of camping

- never playing light hull

- avoiding maps that are sniper-heavy

- avoiding DM battles

- extremely selective on what battles to join (aka never the "losing" side")

The list goes on.

K/D might be slightly based on skill - but it's more of a play-style indicator.

Please note that the person I was replying to said that he was in a DM battle. So flags, control points, and goals aren't relatable to this particular battle mode.

I'd say Striker is probably the worst turret to use in DM.

You don't ever dare to use the salvo - showing that laser for 3 seconds+ means you likely have 10-19 enemies shooting at you simultaneously.

So you are left with the single launches that can be dodged, unless aimed at from behind.

And striker not really great at close-quarters combat.

Some players manage to be at the top of the scoreboard in DM using striker.

Sure it's possible.   But of the 13 turrets available, would you not agree that striker is least likely to accomplish that.

During the Christmas / New Year event mission requirements forced me into some DM on the big holiday map. When playing my Striker  / Titan I most always finished in the top three of 24 on that map. But GM is so dominated by luck it is hard to draw conclusions. That map was large enough to reduce the spawning location luck. So there was a chance to get some supplies up before the guy spawning behind you killed you 2 seconds after you killed the guy you had just spawned behind. If you lived through the spawning danger the joy of splash damaging every tank proved quite beneficial.

I'd say Smoky is weak at DM. While you are chipping away at your 8-shot kill some big-hitter blast you to atoms in one shot.

But take this all with  a lot of salt because I avoid DM almost always-zzzzzzz.
