Bought striker today, i dunno how i feel about it. 'Guess it needs MUs to do well.

Meh, the biggest difference you'll notice is turret rotation speed.

Damage is already out of this world if you manage to hit something;

It can 2 shot a Viking at M3 and it can 2 shot a Viking at M4.

It can 2 shot a Hornet at M3 and it can 2 shot a Hornet at M4.

It can 3 shot a Mammoth at M3 and it can 3 shot a Mammoth at M4.

There's no sweet spot in damage, performance stays pretty much the same as you MU.

Striker isn't worth upgrading to 20/20 as it does well already at M3.

Are you talking about with Double Damage?

The damage is fine, i can't argue with that. But the aiming mechanism is quite demanding, i managed to hit a few tanks with salvo but the single missiles are plainly ridiculous! They are very slow and the lack of auto-aim adds salt to the wound.

Yeah, I shouldn't have said that now that I think of it; the standard situation is drugged.

It definitely is, but you'll get a hang of it. My aim was horrible at first, it has improved somewhat.

I think the salvo is a stupid gimmick that doesn't add anything.. it's too specialized for this game.

Even if the enemy didn't see your laser in the 46-something years you've been pointing it at em; the rockets don't always hit.

Quite often some of my rockets fly straight over the dude while the others slam right in with a perfect arc.

I barely use salvo myself, can't seem to get it work. If I were you I'd train those single shots, you'll do much better after a few days.

Hey guys!  So I've been itching to give the underutilized Striker a try, maybe get a hang of it, and use it to surprise unsuspecting teams.

Now, I'm aware that Striker WILL take time to get used to given that its Rockets are fired from the left and right barrels like Twins.  Not to mention the splash damage that can go against me in Close-range skirmishes.  I've also heard that Full Salvo mode is too situational particularly when facing fast targets.

I'm planning to try out M1 Striker on an alt first.  Any other warnings and tips I need to know firsthand?  How much of a pain is Striker's firing mechanic on certain maps?  Thanks for your help!

Just remeber when you spwan the first rocekt is fired from Right barrel

So you keep track of it

As 1,2 or Left , right

For aiming you will get a hang of it , i can not describe it , use salvo for big targets and use it when they do not expect it

Hello everybody. I apologize for my bad english. I want to invite players who play well with thunder or a striker to play in a strange format game. Tomorrow evening we want to play a map  Station.

Turrets: thunder m3 or striker m3.

Hulls:  wasp m3 or  hornet m3.

Format: CTF

Play time: 35 minutes. The first 5 minutes we are gathering but do not play. At 30.00 we push “del” and then start.

Ranks: Brigadier - Legend

Bonus boxes: on

Supplies: off

Gold: off

Upgrades: off

Alterations: on

Overdrives: off

Auto balance: on

Weapon changes: on (only thunder / striker, wasp / hornet)

modules: zero

cnfybjpg_9958397_30386290.jpg

The exact time when the game is planned I'll write tonight. Approximately between 18.00 and 22.00 Moscow time on June 16, 2018. And tomorrow I'll write a link to the battle.

And an obligatory condition: we play without cheats.

We will be glad to see you.

Terrible (none at all?) auto-aim so uneven terrain will not be your friend.  Flat maps the best.  Exception... massacre.. though very uneven it works here as you can actually get salvos at times.

Maps with long corridors are decent.  if you are above the target (like on Serpuhov) it can work.

I hate the left/right tube launches.

The map was chosen specifically to equalize the chances of an experienced player and noob. few people played it on a striker or thunder.

Two words,

Good Idea

Practice driving at speed and shooting to the side at a fixed target like a tree or something.  This is a way to practice when there's no enemy tank to srve as a target.

Realize when you are moving forward your nose tips up slightly so you will shoot high.  So wen shooting learn to take your finger off te forward key for a moment as you shoot.  In reverse the nose tips down. This is often good. You can reverse to shoot at a lower elevation or just to shoot at the enemy treads.

Remember: Do don't have to hit just come close.

Use recon-by-fire. Is there an enemy around the corner?  Shoot a wall and let splash tell you. Fill the air with missiles.

Salvoes are harder to do but try them and get a feel for wen to use them.  It can be used in shorter rage situations too.

Advanced tip: Let;'s say you're turret is tuerned a bit to one side. YOu fire a single and hit the enemy from teh right tune. You do not move hull or turret. The left tube fires. he missile misses to the rear of the enemy.  Solution?  <ot new players turn the  turret to re-aim left and riight turrets.THis does work and you should learn to do it.  But often it is easier anre more reliable to just back up.

Launch right: hit.  Back up. Launch left: Hit. Move forward: Launch right: Hi.  Back up ....etc.

This is a nice initiative, I'll try to be there for sure. Probably as noob Striker but who cares..

Haven't played an active Station map since Oct.2012.

Thanks for your advice guys!  Just played like 2 hours with Striker.  While I did struggle with its aiming at first, I soon adjusted by making light, subtle turret adjustments.  Basically, I quickly turn my Striker slightly to the left to nail an enemy with a Right Barrel Rocket and fire afterwards.  And for firing a Left Barrel Rocket, I turn my Striker slightly to the right.

It really makes me feel like I'm "throwing" these rockets with my left or right arm like baseballs or javelins.  Heh...and it sure feels satisfying throwing these javelins at tanks and weakening enemy infiltrators.

Looking forward to more Striker practice in CTF.  Wish me luck!

Actually, now that I think about it, I think Striker's more about throwing explosive baseball rockets, whereas Railgun's about throwing a high-damage javelin.

Nearly 10 hours in with Striker on my alt.  So far, looking good.  I'm definitely getting the hang of "throwing" my solo rockets.  Of course, as a Smoky main, I still gotta break the habit of firing Striker as if it were a Smoky (i.e. looking down the center of my turret and firing once the center is pointing at an enemy), especially whenever a flag thief flashes by right in front of me.  For the most part, I've paired Striker with Viking for a nice balance of speed & health.  I tried Striker-Mammoth, and it's a bit underwhelming.  Despite its shore of health, Mammoth's slowness really leaves me more vulnerable to awkward close quarter encounters with speedy tanks.

Nevertheless, I have enjoyed several occasions of full salvos.  While a couple of my targets did avoid the full salvo just in time, I nailed the full salvo a few times against enemies who were left exposed (one of them was actually a flag thief blocked by their bumbling teammates, and I gleefully prepped and fired the full salvo to quickly recover the flag).

Nice

i was in a CTF Osa , i was just running and shooting with my Hornet Striker and while the enemies were trying to get me my m8s won the match and i was first  :)

I was amazed by how much perfectly we can control the midfield with Striker , and i didn't even use 1 salvo
