I just got called a noob by a noob cause I used the word "kiddies" and apparently saying kiddies is an attempt to sound smart now and it is special "terminology" as well. Dude, are you like 7 or just mentally challenged? I could have called you much less nicer things if there weren't forum rules in the way.

I think I will stick to the ru forum from now on. At least I know the clueless trolls there and can autoignore them.

And btw, there are 2 first spots in team battles nubster.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.... noob.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.... noob.

hey, have I ever seen your non-noob skills in-game? Oh wait, that would be pretty f hard since you play only 10 minutes per week. But I am sure you have a main legend account where all the exciting things happen, right? Or maybe better: you have developed beyond the pitiful state where you actually need to play the game to show what you actually can do like the mere mortals. You now spend your playing time by giving invaluable advice to lesser players on the forums.

Striker is ok on some maps that are quite open - like massacre.  And also when you are on a team dominating and can afford to sit there for 3+ seconds with that silly laser and not worry about getting destroyed.

Other than that it is junk.  That's why no one uses protection against it - they don't need it - it would be a waste of a module slot.

Massacre actually is a pain to use Striker on, as the terrain's unevenness combined with its poor vertical auto aim prevents any accurate shots. To be quite honest, I usually leave battles on Massacre when I am using Striker. I find it an effective turret to use on most other maps though. I also enjoy using it, which makes up for its deficiencies to an extent. I definitely agree with exterminator that in the right hands it can dominate battles. And were you ignoring his screenshots? Or do you consider them not enough evidence (they are quite a small sample)? He appears to have done quite well with it according to his profile as well. And to have used it four times as much as you have. Even I have more hours on it than you. In this situation the one with no less clue happens to be you. And "kiddies" doesn't make anyone look smart, neither does noob for that matter. I see much more evidence and less trolling in his posts.

Trolls have a tendency to ignore any evidence or arguments brought forward which makes it maddening and pointless to try and argue with them. Out of all my arguments about using striker, he picked the use of word "kiddies" to judge my game abilities. rofl

Was clear to me he has no clue what he is talking about when he said massacre is the most suitable map for striker. It is in fact a pain in the ass to use striker there as I said in my very first reply which was skillfully ignored.

Anyone can post a few screen-shots of their best battles to prove a point. Reverse - not so much.

I especially like the gifs of the salvo missiles missing the target and the single-shots sailing over the targets. No vertical auto-aim at all.

To each their own - Massacre is one of the few maps I will use it on. A few other maps it can be useful.  But many not so.

I have used the turret for > 25 hrs.  NO turret should take that long to become efficient in.

There's a reason you see very few of them in battles, even though Striker has been around for > 2 years.

You have fun with it?  That's great - keep using it.

I happen to have the opinion it's mechanics are not designed well.

Your "buddy" is the one who started to make it personal.  In 33 posts (total!)  I call that trolling.

I love your "but there's two 1st places" in each battle.  Do you think that corrects the math?  Oh my...

I'm awaiting your post that will say "But... but... don't you know who I am?"

Thought you were sticking to RU forum?  So not only are you arrogant, but you can't make up your mind either.

He's not my buddy at all, I have no clue who he is. I simply saw more logic and experience in his posts. And isn't the point of trolling to make as many useless posts as possible? Not to only have a few?

A fun fact for you, dude. I have used striker for 106 hours which is roughly 4x your play time. In those 106 hours I have gained with it 10x more XP than you. Meaning I beat your XP with striker by a factor of 2.5. lol. We shall discount that your striker is probably m3 while mine is 2 days away from being m4 shall we? Keep trolling on the forums nub which is all you will be good for. 3989 posts, wow, do you live here?

Probably a lot better than on Viking.

I wonder if they ever manage to balance viking and hunter.

There was always one better then the other (and today it's Hunter since they practically exchanged Hunter's and Viking's features a few years ago..)

Thank you for your invaluable contribution to this section troll. Gotta keep working on that post count, right dude?

I had a difference of opinion on effectiveness of Striker.  And then you started making it personal.

You seem to be trying to double your posts on EN forum...

Thanks, but no reason to..

there are a lot of tankers thinking about Viking and Hunter like that.. but not all of course as some simply like the drift that was given to the Viking. But in terms of stability and agility (acceleration, ability to dodge and trick others) a Hunter is a step ahead of Viking.

On a alternative account of mine, which I use to practice with striker, I switched from Wasp to Hunter a few days ago. It somehow worked better.. even if I do miss the Wasps drive.

But however > back on topic > I never really understood, why a turret that can so easily miss a target (harder to aim then with Twins) does not have at least more damage.. or a proximity-trigger in the rockets, that make the (arcade mode) rockets explode if they pass within 1..1,5m distance to an enemy tank. Given that a wasp is 5m long, this would not be that much of a bonus.. but this change alone would possibly move Striker out of the shadows, by simply making the targetin easier. Not very, very easy.. still far from that.. but simply those few percent easier that allows players to miss far less on mid ranges.

^ Agree, the slightest offset makes your missile fly over the enemy. I think this proximity thing will work nice when trying to lead targets.. it doesn't have to do the work to make the hit but it's just going to make it easier in combination with the vertical auto aim. Currently your missile is wasted when you try to lead targets from height difference... yeah unless you rock your hull but that's nearly impossible to nail down.

If anything they should nerf the salvo to compensate for the proximity tracking, salvo is clumsy and only for obvious (slow) targets in open terrain.

Salvo should get a remap key function, I barely use salvo, actually it gets in the way when I hold the spacebar for just a little too long and the laser pops out while I were trying to get ahead of the reload time just to fire another single shot. It works with every other turret but Shaft and Striker.

What's all the sneaky hiding about? or is there something wrong with my internet connection?

yep.

I think the proximity trigger would be even a better balance then a damage increase.. if the damage would be increased further, the salvo mode would be a true pain (as the increase comes in 4 times) - and I did not consider drugs when I proposed the damage change.

So I think the proximity trigger would work fine. I would not even decrease some other stat in trade for a proximity trigger.. I would leave the rest of the turret "as is". I think a proximity trigger mechanism with such a short range of 1m (only triggered by enemies of course) only levels striker a fit closer to the other turrets, not overdoing it.

About 20 posts were hidden by a mod (not me) for "being off-topic". As far as I could judge by myself, the conversation turned into personal pit fighting, away from the topic. Your first hidden post was part of that "side discussion", so it was hidden as well.

I think there indeed is no reason to make any sacrefice if there would be a proximity correction for the single rockets. We still have protection modules and there are basically none on the battlefield right now. Striker with the eased up controls would make it more popular and a side effect will definitely be more protection modules. I haven't really thought about this when I mentioned the compensation.

Thank you for clarifying.. that makes some sense I guess. It was only an image but I quoted a post from the extreme rage which made me somewhat part of it.

I just saw that Striker's rockets will be buffed via a higher starting speed (and better angular speed, so they will target better in homing mode).

I would like the proximity thing more, as the shots where

1) you aim at a viking

2) your auto aim makes the shot go for the enemies turret

3) viking moves 1 meter

4) your rocket flies right over his hull, right next to his turret

..are the thing that makes it annoying.

But at least, the Viking was happy :)

(and the change was easier. honestly I am happy that they do something about Striker.. even if it's not perfect )
