Salvo is useless; it's the single shots and the aim that matters in Barda.
It is not so underpowered as I thought; I think my Magnum could only do slightly better.

 

I don't think I have reached peak precision yet, my aim is still not what it was back in 2015 on the Wasp-Smoky.

So there's more potential for this turret.

I've been stacking up a lot of games with >30 kills, <10 deaths lately. It does do a buttload of damage if it hits regularly. Striker obviously needs some sort of boost because most players will not put a year into learning it. But whatever they do it should be aimed at making the turret easier for new-users. Not so much a benefit to veteran users. If a change is too strong it will turn Striker into the next hated OP turret like today's Magnum.

 

It needs something...

 

My first Ricco ever was M3 going up against other M3+ and it took me 1 day to become proficient.

 

Striker... well... it's been months using periodically and it still does not perform well.

 

If salvo is not supposed to be used often (hardly ever as designed :( ) then the single missiles need better functionality.

The left/right launching is awkward and the missiles can still be dodged at anything greater than short-mid-range.

Since there's no real "barrel" to sight on, a targeting reticle would be useful.

Even if you master it, the performance is somewhat on par with other turrets. It seems unfair considering the massive learning curve.

Well atleast the real potential comes from the fact that almost no one uses Striker protection, currently it is the ideal situation.

 

Maps like Iran and Industrial zone are really good Striker maps; flat ground and obstacles.. this is where you can put your single shots to use.

Salvo is clumsy, I barely use it. The lock-on time is the biggest downside.

 

I would guess my average K/D ratio currently at 1.7 or 1.8. I still find myself in the lower register of the score chart.

That is after 30 hours. The gameplay keeps me hooked on it. It's so nice when the rockets land with 1700 damage.

People tell me Smoky is now weak but I have fun using it so I play it.

 

People here tell me I am insane for using Vulcan on a Wasp, but it is fun so I play it.

 

People say Isida is OP but it is fun so I play it. 

 

People say Shaft is OP but it is not as much fun for me as Smoky so I rarely use it.

 

Striker has a long learning curve and it gets very annoying to shoot over Vikings but ... you guessed tight ... it's fun so I use it.  (My k/d has sat at 1.78 for months every time I've looked. 1.78 is hardly ineffective.  In fact that is the highest k/d among all the Willies.)

Whaddya know? I see a Striker kit in the garage today.  "Justice" m3 Striker, Hunter, Lion F (Rico, Twins, Striker) module, Red Urban paint, 40% discount.  First time I've seen a Striker kit in the Garage not just the Shop.

 

Not that I am going to buy it. My Colonel WhittleWilie already has m2_10/10 Striker, Hornet, the same Lion F module. Actually had all that at m3-equivalent at Lt Col ... 4 ranks before the kit can be bought.

 

Kits are obsolete for upgrades.Good (perhaps) if you want to change hulls/turrets.

Striker can destroy you in less than 4 seconds with DD. It's seriously OP.

 

If you're getting killed by a striker in less than four seconds with DD, you must be up against someone who Damn well knows how to use it. It has nothing to do with the turret being OP ( which by the way it isn't), it's more likely got to do with how good the player is with it.

You don't need a skill to fire out 2 missiles towards the opponent. It's not even about locking on the target, it's simply firing out 2 missiles towards the target with the DD and you're dead.

Shaft can kill you in 1 instant hit w/dd. So too can Rail, Magnum that's far quicker than 4 seconds. And if yo are talking 2 hits that must be a light hull w/o DA up.  A heavy hull can soak up an entire 4-missile salvo. So I'd say the OP label needs better evidence.

 

I ado agree the turret is not under-powered ... once you put in a couple hundred hours of target practice.

What? Who said it bothers me? I'm just explaining the situation. Why are you getting butt-hurt over a simple explanation. 

 

And how am I ruining the turret for other players? If you said that to me, that should go for every single player who are complaining about magnum being overpowered, thunder splash damage overpowered and so on. Don't even quote me with your non-sense, cheers.

You got no facts so move on. Never said to remove nor I hate striker so where are your facts at? I'll let you to calm down since you're butt-hurt.

If the enemy is really close to you than I doubt you can miss the missiles getting hit.

Striker i do per rocket around 870 damage on average . DD makes it around 1600 , and reload in 1.85 seconds ( not m4 yet ) . Anyway it makes DD 3200 damage in less then 4 sec ... plenty of hulls wont survive that . The thing is , when theres DD around , then so are DA and RK .

Don't forget all the missed shots.  Unlike turrets like Thunder, smoky, etc... Striker is hardly guaranteed of hitting targets.

 

Slow missiles = lots of missed shots.  On average you are doing way less than 1600 every 1.85 seconds.  Unless you have stationary targets. Don't count on that very often.
