And what makes you say that, because of the damage from its volley?

Nope, nothing about damage. It's the technic how it works, you can choose how chu use ur turret ;)

I'm playing with striker since 2011 man, chu don't need to tell me how it works^^

hey guys! the last balacne striker has made better to play but main problem of aim is still their  i see many players(including myself ) that miss most of shots when trying kill an enemy with the laser it takes an hour and the enemy can just hide behind a wall and then lock on again. There is already an idea of short lock on topic but i want suggest that tanki decrease the reload time for the laser and reduce the damage this will make the laser easy to use

Best weapon for killing during Gold box. I was playing on test server with Striker/Titan, I had Double Damage on and killed everyone when the Gold box was falling, letting me catch it with ease.

I mistake the lazer for a Shaft sometimes, and then I see the jerky lag and the lazer pointing at me doing nothing; oohhhh just another Striker trying to lock on, I'll just plop behind something.

Same! I usually hide behind a nice, slow Titan.

Striker is the best turret in the game right now. 

I don't know about best but it is both fun and deadly in the right hands.

 

Thunder is, it's just is, trust me, unless the striker is drugging and the thunder isn't, thunder will always beat striker.

 

Not against a Striker pilot who can shoot.

That's why Strikers should fight with single shots most of the time. Plop away. I'll splash you to death.

 

Technique for using striker:

 

When using a light hull, just shoot single rockets, only shoot lock ons when it is necessary.

 

When using a medium hull, shoot singles when moving, clamp yourself to nearby walls when using lock ons.

 

When using a heavy hull, use singles when you need to, lock ons should be common to use.

 

When using a light/medium/heavy hull, learn to shoot and hit moving targets with single shots fired while you are also on the move. There's little more fun and satisfying in Tanki than putting a couple missiles on a speeding Wasp at a range of about 200m.  

 

And remember... you don't have to hit the enemy tank you just have yo hit something - anything - near it. If my teammate is up front fighting the enemy I shoot hit and surround him with splash death for the enemy. Splash is a massively OP damage mode in Tanki. Exploit it.

 

Laser salvos have their uses. You have to read the situation. A salvo into a enemy group is so temping. But single shots are faster and they still splash. That adds up. But what if there's an un-moving large tank in the group? Then the salvo might be the way to go. Of course it does not get better then when you laser a moving tank and it runs into a pack of his pals with 4 missiles arriving a half-second later,

 

The laser is also a good psych weapon. Light up an enemy just to make him run for cover .. or drive off the bridge.

 

But it all comes from being able to land single shots.If yo can do that the only turret that you can't fight even up is probably freeze. And of course much depends on the circumstances. 

 

Since I am running off at the mouth (fingers?) I'll just add I never noticed a difference in the patch when they sped up the missiles at launch. I could not see a difference.

 

For the record I run a 3LT Striker m1_9 / Titan m1_10 with 18% vs-Striker protection. I didn't use any non-map drugs at all - none - until I reached WO5 (~150k exp) yet still had a k/d of 2.0. My hope is no one takes my advice and learns how to shoot single shots. Right now it is a rather unpopular hull. As soon as that changes the Striker will be nerfed mercilessly. :D

I think alterations for striker will speed up the projectiles, and make it better.

Sure a lot depends on circumstances. I only mean it is possible to hit those circling/speeding small targets with more accuracy than most players imagine. And when you do hit you ruin their day. You also need only shoot for the nearby terrain too.

 

Another use for the laser is to firm up that aim. Laser up; as soon as the laser is on target snap off a single shot. That often also adds some vertical tracking.

 

But mostly you just need to learn how to aim by eye.

 

So hitting at rage really isn't that hard. Striker has 100% damage at massive rages + a huge splash circle.  When you can launch accurate single shots it is very easy to exploit these strengths.

I think Striker needs a bigger horizontal auto-aim and maybe also a bigger vertical auto-aim.

I'll take it id Tanki gives it to me but right now it's already a beast. May it forever remain unpopular and thus un-nerfed. lol

And who on earth has developed the sound for this thing?

 

The explosion is really LOUD and rendered in the absolute worst mp3 quality one can imagine; like some remastered track downloaded from a weird site full of ads and malware that offers downloadable stuff in MP3 from 2004.

This weapon shouldn't exist. Unbalanced in open areas where it can kill 1 heavy hull in 3 seconds, but not reliable enough to hit normal shots. Also it is a weird combination of thunder and smoky, but worse.

Honestly, it can't kill a heavy hull of the same modification without protection in 1 go even with its lock on mode unless it uses double damage or if the heavy hull was damaged.

 

You should mainly utilize its single rocket mode, the only reason to use its salvo is during a gold drop especially in DM, just put on double damage and utilize that lock on, and you can get a massive pile of kills in quick succession. And maybe even be able to take the gold.

comparing Salve mode to Arcade mode, in M3

 

Salve mode, fire 4 rockets:

 

 

being ready to fire

aim time: 3,12 sec

time to fire 4 rockets: 3x0,25sec = 0,75sec (4 rockets = 3x salve reloads)

reload time: 1,97sec

being ready to fire again

 

 

total cycle time for 4 rockets: 5,84sec

 

 

Arcade mode, fire 3 rockets:

 

 

being ready to fire

fire#1, reload,fire#2, reload,fire#3, reload,fire#4, reload = 3x reload = 3x 1,97sec = 5,91 sec

being ready to fire again

 

 

total cycle time for 3 rockets: 5,91sec

 

 

Since I looked at those figures, I use the salve mode only in times, when I am very, very, very sure I will make it count.

I waste three rockets if I mess it up..

If there is any obstacle around my enemy, I do not use it.

If he is under heavy fire of my teammates, I do not use it.

 

What I do, is to fire as many arcade rockets around the place, as I can, and practise my aim with them.

Only if I catch a rather fresh enemy out in the open.. even better if he aproaches a bunch of his friends, then I go for the salve mode.

Also if someone catches my close up, and I know I will die, the chances to get 4 rockets via salve a better then to hit 4 rockets via arcade mode - but this works only in a titan, as mid or light hulls die too fast.

To tell you the truth in some 15 minute games I forget the salvo mode is an option. That's going too far with the idea. :)

 

PS: Striker isn't a weird combination of smoky and thunder ... it's an adaption of Twins with better-looking projectiles.

Striker is the strongest turret here, let's face it.  ^_^

 

Used few DDs and Overdrives and gained almost 2 times more kills in Polygon DM than the second player in the match, finishing with an over-average D/L of 3.25.
