How good is striker?

Not very good as of yet, it's quite hard to keep the laser on someone long enough to fire the rockets. In addition, they usually see the laser and back behind cover. However, firing at heavy tanks in the center of Polygon CP is something. :P

Don't buy it, though. Too weak. At long range the rockets take too long to get there, at short range the splash damage is too strong. At medium range people are moving around too fast for the lock-on to take hold.

You know you can just tap the spacebar to shoot a single rocket that flies like a Twins projectile? It autoaims vertically to fly towards enemies and even if they move out of the way you can hit the ground or a wall next to them and deal splash damage.

Obviously I know that. But that mode by itself is quite inaccurate, unpredictable, and not very unique as opposed to Thunder.

So am I. It's better to err on the weaker side for a new turret, so players aren't "baited" to buy it and then see it nerfed. Now, the only thing to do is to buff it, and players love buffs. :)

It's more like Thunder.

Apparently its DPS is even better than thunder's. That's kind of OP.

EDIT: Thunder's still far better because of striker's pitiful projectile speed and its weak splash damage.

I find that the lock on is too slow, that I tend to stick to firing one single rocket at the same time. Before I could lock on, I get rekt by Smoky,Rails, short range...etc. It's easy to miss shots using this weapon, even when going up close.

Reload time is a bit slow.. -_-

Well, Thunder isn't exactly known for it's DPS

How do you manage to display Recruit Rank in your profile ? :P

The stats for Striker's normal mode (no salvos) seem to be stronger than Shaft's arcade mode.

Well, Shaft's arcade mode is only to provide Shaft with some sort of defense in close ranges.

Or to help it finish off a Medium hull, or get a shot in when they know that by the time the scope in, the target will be out of view, or they will be dead, etc. But yes, it is second in importance to the scope shot. For striker, both modes seem to be equally important, the stronger mode for more special situations, etc.

It's fun, started a new account for it and have a decent D/L (2.3).  Its difficult to get used to but has some interesting characteristics.  I do think they will shorten the laser timer, I hardly ever use it.  I like the alternating shots, if I keep track of them I can pop out only a little bit from behind a building and expose myself a little.
