New game mode and map suck...who else agrees?

If you're not on the red team, victory is pretty much impossible! Red has THREE flags they can attempt to cap and Blue has 2 bases to defend and protect. I have yet to see blue win even a single game -_-

 

It's stupid how the devs put it together. Compared to the Halloween map, this one is a JOKE. Use the filter to see! I just checked and you can't even scroll since there's so little games in play! Select the filter to be one of any other game mode it's a long list!

 

The map itself looks like they ran out of ideas and just threw stuff together. I mean, with so much clutter, how can Blue have any time at all to kill the enemy before a flag gets capped? Every 3 - 5 seconds a flag is capped I have seen and each cap being 10 points! How does blue team get points?

 

Oh wait. They don't.

 

All they can do is sit around and prolong the inevitable.

 

Seriously, I was excited for the new map and game mode but to see how terrible the efforts were put into them saddens me.  Also, with blue team having to sit back and protect, red team has the rest of the map which is filled with supply boxes! Seriously unbalanced on such a serious level.

 

To fix this, every three seconds a flag is not capped, blue team gets 2.5 points for each base, meaning 5 points. With my calculated 3-5 sec delay between flag caps, they'll get 10 points every three seconds so they can at least keep up and have even a CHANCE at winning. Also, remove a LOT of the supplies around the map, or add more to blue team's side.

 

Really, the result that came from what the devs created is nothing short of a waste of time.

 

Just checked, out of 11 games, there is only 1 match where blue has even a slight lead

 

So I hear the flag capture score went from 10 to 5 and now 3, making the map balanced. I will have to check it out myself

The game was horribly imbalanced for the red team as the blue team just went to the red base leaving nobody to defend the base. A blue team that didnt run around like chickens (which at this point is 75% of the people who play tanki) has a chance of winning at least but now its completely hopeless.

You could have drugging hacking multer buyers all in one on blue, but even then red can easily win

Very true. Devs probably had no time to test it. And they said last year's game mode was unbalanced so they removed it to make improvements  :D

 

I find it unlikely that they will be making any changes to it this year. But we'll see - maybe they'll do a quick fix within the next few days. At least remove one of the bases, since 3 flags and 2 bases is pretty much impossible for defenders, unless they are a much more skilled team than the attackers.

Even skilled Mammoth / Isida can't help to defenders (blue team). I came behind enemy lines in Viking / Smoky and even despite Riddler's valiant resistance defenders lost.

 

I think that this map is chaotic, to say the least.

Yep, played a few times, so unbalanced toward red team it's ridiculous.
 

If they wanted something other than straight CTF, then each side should have a flag banking base, with flags at random locations

Agreed... no chance for blue to win...

maybe thy can tweak it a bit, red team cannot drug or something.. but the way it is now.. no chance for blue to win.

another option will be to just divide the crystals to both teams equally.

the points for blue should end up being 100 at the end of the game, not 90. That part alone makes it unbalanced- red can get 100 points to end it, while blue cannot even possibly reach 100 points in a normal game.

 

Making each red cap worth 5 points has made a small difference. I managed to be on a defensive team that won (score 90-75). That was a really good team, which is super rare.

Visit the battles now.. check this map and count which team is winning... compute the percentage for that given time.

the next time you log in, do the same...

i did this today... and i have only seen 1 blue team barely win, and these are on the very high ranks. and the winning points differences between the blue  team and the red is really close..

im not going to play this map unless theres a free spot on the red team.

Hi Mafioso. I agree with you. I like this year's map but last year's map was better balanced. Not perfect, but better.

 

Don't get me wrong - I'm having a ton of fun (on Red team :ph34r:) but as one of the louder voices here on the forum in favor of returning Assault mode, I'm a bit disappointed in how one-sided this year's version is turning out.

It did seem pretty fair where the blue just had to just defend two points while the red team had 3 flags. Plus, the blue side has great, perfect places to camp, kill, especially for shafts to snipe enemies with the flag. The only reason blue team is mainly losing, cuz there are plenty of noobs not defending, but talking or just going to the red team's base to kill, which still isn't that helpful.

This is actually a great justification for adding Assault mode to existing maps. A big part of the noob problem is the fact that this is a new (okay sort of new) map.

 

To your point, I do expect Blue team to improve as players learn the nooks and crannies of this map. I've already seen some wasp rails camping on the right and some freezes ambushing on the left.

In game play, this very much reminds me of last year's map. The unbalanced complaints were exactly the same. The answer given to the imbalance was that it's a trade off. One time your team wins, next time your team loses, but it balances in the end. Meaning, you have to play red twice and blue twice for the balance to be realized.

 

In last years map, the best game play was to have snipers hidden a long the route to kill or wound a flag carrier. Firebirds and freezes were hidden around buildings to race out and get the flag carriers from behind. You have to figure out the common routes and how much of the map you can cover with the snipers.

 

Unless there is an imbalance of the teams, it doesn't pay to try to kill the entire team at their base. Besides, you get more points for killing a flag carrier than you do for one who is not.

No, the imbalance was less last year  ^_^ It's unlikely that they will make structural adaptions to the map now, so the best option is to turn up the point gain rate for blue.

I have played in map with blue won abuot 2 times! but they had to drug hard. The map designed for drugers. In case, map CTF what happen when they gets flag, yes they drug and this map we have 3 flags :X . I hate this map, i like shooting not run around find supply to take the flag and somtime become druger. I saw no one like played blue side
