Allow alterations in XP/BP battles

Recommended Posts

I think that's rather a bad idea. Right now with the 100k alteration that they just lauched, I can one shot m3 wasp even m3 hornet. That is a big disadvantage for the other team.

Apparently you want to have the high caliber ammo alteration equipped as an addition to the always equipped shell stabilization. If this is technically no problem, then I second this idea. The main point is how many shots will be needed in order to kill a tank. When both alteration are equipped then this will restore the old XP/BP format, because no matter that someone has an M2 or an M3 hull or rail, no matter of Hornet or Wasp, it will always need 2 shoots to kill a tank, which ensures equality again.

If shell stabilization shall be replaced by high caliber ammo I oppose the idea, because it would make one-shots possible.

Actually it would only work if xp/bp was split into two formats like said above.

For an M2 Railgun, having the alteration would give it a boost against M3s, as the M3s would be two-shot.

But for all-M3 games, anyone using the alteration would be at a disadvantage, since they would still two-shot opponents like the stock Railgun, but take much longer to reload. It doesn't do to mix different versions of railguns.

P.S. I'm not sure shell stabilization is automatic for xp/bp. I think I remember taking two shots a couple of times.

I recently bought railgun alteration, why is this that alterations are not allowed in XP/BP?

Can't there be two types of railgun

One with faster reload and less damage

One with longer reload and more damage (since this is no benefit because of protection) it can get added impact power to flip hulls like the old railgun?

There should be the option to select it with the alteration tick box. If you want it or not.

If shell stabilisation is there? why does the railgun m2 always 3 shot a hornet and wasp m3? its useless

Shell stabilization makes the M2 Railgun to produce a constant damage output of 795 or 802. So you have ~800 damage per shot and M3 Hornet has a protection of 1682. If you shoot twice, then there will be a small portion of HP left, which is about 82 HP. The cause of this problem is that Railgun in general has a bit too low damage (which is linked to the bit too fast reload).

Declined

With the amount of alterations Railgun now has, allowing alterations in format battles would ruin them by making enemies too unpredictable. XP/BP is meant to be a fair competition where all players are in equal conditions, so adding alterations would ruin this aspect.

isn't that what matchmaking battles are also supposed to be? so why allow alterations in standard battles but not format ones?

No, while MM battles are designed to approximately balance players by rank, skill and equipment, they are still for the most part just a competition of who has the best gear with most upgrades. Format battles, on the other hand, are almost completely based on skill since all other factors are the same.
