[Special Review] TO StarLeague Final - Ranking Cups #5

TO StarLeague is a tournament created by a few players from the English community. A small amount of players keep this project alive by regularly organizing small tournaments that come with match commentary and are live streamed. You can follow their events on their YouTube channel as well as follow them on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter or even on the official Website!

Introduction:

 

The TO StarLeague (TOSL) project was created by in hopes of returning eSports to the community as it was before StarLadder (a.k.a. SLTV). Additional people, including myself, joined the project to help revive eSports through TOSL. We regularly organize Ranking Cups, which take place during the weekends. In this particular article I at the Ranking Cups # 5 final between Biological Hazard (HZD) and PayBack (PB).

 

The Final #5:

 

 

1^st round: (11:40 in video) At the beginning of this round, the two clans really struggled to throw themselves in the game. A few minutes after starting, they finally began to assault aggressively while maintaining a rigorous and intensive defense.

 

2^nd round: (24:12 in video) This round was very intense. The two clans showed us a little more of their detailed gameplay. The defense of HZD was quite remarkable, the same goes for PB.

 

3^rd round: (35:48 in video) In the last round, PB was less tenacious in its attacks, which regularly resulted with dead ends as they were facing a strong defense from HZD, who left them no open opportunities.

 

As a result, it was a victory for HZD, who won the Ranking Cups # 5 against PB

 

 The final victory of HZD, is based on two points:

• An aggressive and organized defense, which gave no chance to the assailants of PB.
• The flanks were well protected by HZD, which really prevented PB from moving in without taking a shot.

 

For PayBack it was pretty much the same thing:

• A well build attack with good support especially when the enemy flags were stolen.
• PB displayed good defense when their flag was stolen, they made sure enemy attackers had trouble reaching their base.

 

Conclusion:

 

The Biological Hazard clan wins the Ranking Cups #5 on the Osa map - 6 against 6, and Payback finished second - perhaps they strike their luck next time. This tournament was organized by TO StarLeague for the clans that have “The Skills”.

What do you think about your match?

 

@xMoneyMaker (HZD): The final was a great one. I played against a couple of friends. We put a strong performance throughout the tournament, and of course wanted to win the finals from the start. We are the new underdogs, HzD as a clan has only been recently taking part in International tournaments, to prove to everyone who we are, what we are and what we want. Winning. 

 

- Captain (PB): PB vs HzD was a good match, it was PayBack's first final together. The match itself was intense in some moments, but usually they capped in last minutes of rounds, so it was the concentration which HzD had to win.

 

@I.z.I  I think it's an good experience for us. HZD is a really good clan with great teamwork, communication and organisation, but I think we can play better. We play with half the players on Team Speak and without good tactics, it was our first match with that team and I'm really happy to see us on livestream and in final also, or in that tournament.

 

 

What do you think about your opponent?

 

- Captain (PB): HzD is a very good clan with a lot of great players and veterans. In my opinion, they could be in top 5 clans in Blitz if they played. I don't know why they don't do that, but still, they rule the DE community.

 

@xMoneyMaker (HZD): PayBack made us two minded. It could have gone either way, win for PayBack or win for HzD. We played to the best of our abilities to defeat one of the best clans in EN community. It was an honor playing, PayBack in the finals. We respect them for who they are and what they soon will be (Legends)  :D.

 

@I.z.I (PB): HZD is great clan which has experience. Their members have played too long together and I think they can win other tournaments, like MOS and more.

What do you think about TO StarLeague?

 

(PB): We made TOSL know what was our level against the other clans, and we were pleasantly surprised by beating FL which was the best EN clan at that time.

 

@LB-12 - Capitaine (HZD): We wanted to play TOSL because this would be taken as a training session for us for the weekends. Have to admit, the tournament organization is outstanding, and want them to keep it up that way. Another reason why we wanted to join is, because its reminds me the days of Ranking Cups of StarLadder, which was an enjoyable experience. TOSL is so far one of the best alternative relating to the old Star Ladder ranking cups, hands down.
