Show Vote-kick Initiative

I don't have much time so this is short for right now:

 

When somebody votes another player, the action is shown to all players in a bold, bright chat message that reads:

 

_______________ has been voted (_ out of _ votes). Type /vote ___________ to add your vote.

 

1st and 4th blank space is offender's name, the second is how many people have voted already, and the third is how many (25%) specific votes are needed)

 

This would  call the other players' attention to that specific offender and they would more likely vote him/her out too. When they see that others are voting on a player they feel it's more worth their time to type in the command in the chat. Also, if mults took warning and left, that would be good for the players.  Even now the person being voted can see the "Your report has been sent" at the top of the screen, so it wouldn't make the situation any worse at all, only better. 

 

However: The person being voted on cannot see this. And, the votes cannot be re-set by leaving and rejoining the same battle.

Yeah....good point...I was actually going to include something but as I said I didn't have much time. :P

 

However, isn't the violator leaving the battle exactly what the players want?

 

I will edit the idea as I forgot to include something. ;)

In case of mults, it would usually mean that the player would quit the battle and enter with another account. And repeat until he runs out of accounts. Trust me - experienced "puppet masters" have practically infinite multing accounts.

The thing is that in battles now, even the person being voted can see the "Your report has been sent" message and leave accordingly.

Maybe it would just make it go a little faster, and call more people's attention to the voting process. :)

I had a simmilar proposal in another thread once a while ago, and in mine the "voted player" was also informed :rolleyes:

I didn't think of this, because the scenario I had in mind, was that the mult is a passive alternative account, who's owner is in the other team.. so the owner get's no information anyways :p

 

But that's what the forum is good for: challenge ideas vs other people with different persepctive to get them better ;)

Responsible player who cares about the outcome of the battle will always know when he presses TAB. He doesn't need "an invitation" to be able to spot mult.

..but most of them will not vote.

 

On the other hand if they see that other vote already, and see that only xy number of additional votes are necessary to mark this battle to be checked by a battle mod.. then they might vote too.

Yes but he/she might not feel like voting because it's a "waste of time". Countless times I see mults and inactive players in a battle and I know others know it too, but they wouldn't be bothered to vote them. If they see that others are working on it they will have a much higher chance of voting too. It also helps players who don't even know how the vote command works.

Actually, i have a genius idea to stop multing. You cant join a game with multiple accounts from the same IP. Battles with mults are highlighted for the battle mods but nothing is ever done. (disabled in parkour if you need an alt for photos)

unfortunately there is not always a single usere behind a single IP adress.

Brothers that live in the same home, share the same IP.

Student hostels have a single IP for all inhabitants.

 

Already today the battle moderators see in the battle lobby those battles highlighted, where players from the same IP participate. There is not much more you can do about it.

it already put up a thing at the top middle of the screen . I've been reported for backing a couple times by people who refused to believe that I could get M2 firebird at my rank and it pops up a little message like "your report has been sent " or something like that

It still does that? I thought that thing was removed.

Yes- even the person being voted can still see the words: "Your report has been sent".

shows how much they care vs mults -.-

Even Yele said this message is contra-productive that way..

Cough cough, if a murderer was trying to kill your family, wouldn't it be better for the murderer to go away before he did anything bad rather than being caught by the cops? The cops would come late and your family may already be dead.

Don't worry, in Tanki we've respawn.

 

Think less of a murderer (finishes you) but more of a thief (steals from you, then from the next, then from the next, some day from you again). It is better thiefes are cought and their accounts are blocked, then that they just run away and destroy someone else's battle

Good point, but comparing a game violation to a murderer is a bit extreme. I would actually rather endure the violator and wait for him to get banned, than let him run and ruin a bunch of other battles.

In a 1 hour game or longer, it matters a lot. The faith of the entire team can lie on one person.

Let me add 1 more thing in this idea , a rule you can say

 

If a person rejoins , he can again be voted

Yes of course you cannot reset the votes by leaving and rejoining. I thought people would know that but I'll add it for clarity. THanks. :)
