Your Worst Battle

In playing this game for several years, I've learned that you'll have good days and some bad days. But in what battle did you look completely lost out there?

I think my worst was a Control Points battle where I was the top rank, and I proceeded to go 5-22 (.23). Yikes.

CTF game us leading 8-3. Some new tanks join each side and soon score is 8-6. I look at numbers and we are fighting 3 tanks vs 7. Where did my team go? Timer kicks in with 2 min to go. Suddenly two tanks join our side and do.... nothing. Zeros. Game continues because we have "enough tanks".

Battle ends up 9-10 and when battle restarts those two who joined late immediately leave.

What a coincidence they kept the battle going long enough for other team to win.

My worse battle of all bad battles, was CTF Silence, 10 man teams, 60 minute battle, both teams were full. Half way through the battle, score was 25-0 blue team winning. i joined blue about mid way, so I don't know what transpired before hand.

There was 30 minutes left in battle and red was attacking ferociously. Most of blue were in the flag area and a few on the lower level. There were so many on the upper level a lot of shots hit our own team mates. I went to the lower level with Hornet/Railgun. Red was easy pickin's. Suddenly, there was a loll in the battle. I looked at the team line up and half of red had quit. In team chat, I suggested we get a few more flags. The response was, "Why? We have a big lead." I answered back with, "Half of red quit but they will be back." Response, "Bring it on."

Red team filled up quickly with Freezes, Firebirds and Railguns and a couple Ricochets. What happened next was beautifully executed. First, the lower level was attacked, since there were fewer down there. Freeze and Firebird went in attacking with Railgun and Ricochet picking up the pieces. A couple Railguns stayed by the base, shooting those of us who got too close to the edge. We were like sticks in a bonfire.

The upper level was attacked from the lower level, diverting our attention from the long ramp. The Freezes and Firebirds who respawned were now attacking from the long ramp side of the upper level, catching us off guard. We were disseminated...completely wiped out, unorganized and panic stricken.

Red fought hard and mercilessly. At the end of the battle, score was Red: 26...Blue: 25. Red made the last flag just a few seconds before the timer ran out.

BTW Shaft, as we know it today, hadn't been invented yet.

It was a game on Madness. I had been playing the game for about 40 minutes, and our team had around 35 caps (just 5 needed to reach cap limit). My score was a couple thousand, so I was expecting to get like 3.5k cry, due to that happening often on madness. Then, the Musliman clan joined. They were all M4 druggers with Musliman in their name, also equipped with the perfect equipment for the map. We didn't cap another flag, and they got 40 caps in about 15 minutes. Super disappointing. I got like 500 cry instead of 3.5k.

Got mad at this one guy in an AS battle and called him a noob for flooding the chat with "pls admin gold". Then with a sudden vocabulary level increase, he insulted me. Then I challenged him to a 1v1 XP BP. Then I proceeded to go through possibly the worst XP BP battle of my career, getting smoked 7 - 2.

One of my worst games was on a Noise CTF very recently.

I had just bought Vandal kit a few minutes earlier, and was eager to test it out. Joined Red on a no-supply Noise CTF, first to 10 flags with no time limit.

My team was strong, we had 2 Firebirds mued to M3 equipped with Compact Tanks. Me and them simply blew the enemy off the battlefield. We had an Isida who was extremely talented at the role of a dedicated healer. It was great. We raced into a 9-0 lead, with me in first position with over a 1k score.

"9-0" we all (or most of us thought). "Let's camp them for a bit." 2 players, one of them a friend of mine, suggested taking the flag so we could be prepared to capture as soon as (or if) the game went Blue's way. Sadly, we didn't bother, thinking that we were too strong a team to lose from here.

Blue players were leaving left and right, and since Auto-Finish was off, we decided to keep camping. Little did we know that disaster was around the corner. An M2 buyer (who had been getting destroyed while using Firebird), changed to fully micro'ed Isida M2. One of my M3 firebirds quit, due to time constraints (battle had lasted 40 minutes already) and the other had changed to Freeze M1 for a joke.

We were totally unprepared. Several Blue players joined at once, and we suddenly found 4 (yes 4) Isida M2/M3 tearing upwards through Noise in an avenging ball of healing. Worse still, when my shocked team managed to repulse the attack, we discovered another Isida healing a continuously firing half-micro'ed Vulcan M2, which was propped up, allowing clear shot at us from below. A mult had also joined our team, boasting about his prowess with Freeze M0. Another 2 of our players were Dictator and Thunder, but kept on flipping or randomly  committing suicide over the nearest cliff (it usually wasn't deliberate, they must have been lagging a lot).

It was a recipe for disaster. Both teams were in a deadlock for about 20 minutes, with my team slowly being forced all the way back over our own threshold. I still assumed we could win, seeing as we only needed 1 flag.

Then an M2 Hammer joined their team. Paired with Isida, it made a powerful wedge. Since there was no supplies, we couldn't even defend using mines. I tried to get people to take Isida so they could heal me while I defended, but most of them were raging so hard they didn't listen.

The battle was thickest in our tunnel. Finally, after over an hour and a half since the game started, they captured their first flag. Demoralized, my team essentially threw themselves over the edge into the Blue base. And in the confusion the Blue team captured again. And again.

I was desperate. I had a 3k score, and the fund was 16k. We needed to win. I reported the mults several times, getting others in my team to do the same. No help came from the Mod team. I tried an alternative approach, trying to persuade some of my team to leave to allow my friends to join (friends with M3s or M4s).

The 2 hour mark came and went. I was deranged, it was 4 am for me at that point. We had resorted to simply cower in our base, trying desperately to stem the oncoming hordes from below.

Finally, it was 9 all. 1 of my friends managed to join, with M4 Isida. But by that point we were done. A failed attack from my team, countered by the Isida-ball. All done, 10-9 to the Blues, in just under 3 hours.

Closest to crying over a game as I have ever been. Last no-supply game on Noise I ever play.

Map was Serpuhov, 10 man teams, TDM, 15 minute battle and 999 kills. I was Isida on red team. Score was 20-10 red's favor and red kills were racking up fast. All but 4 players on blue team quit. We were fighting over who was going to kill the next respawning blue.

Suddenly, we were being attacked from behind. Red team had filled up rather quickly with 3 Shafts, 2 sniping Railguns (who were darn good), 2 Isidas, 1 Firebird, 1 Freeze, 1 Vulcan. The Shafts were Mammoths and the Vulcan was Dictator, the rest were Hornet and 1 Viking.

We had 1 Shaft/Mammoth, 1 Vulcan/Dictator, 2 Railgun/Hornet (sadly, they were lousy snipers), 1 Firebird/Hornet, 1 Firebird/Wasp, 2 Freeze/Hornet, 1 Ricochet/Hornet, 1 Isida/Titan (me). I started out with Hornet, but when it became a drug war, I changed to Titan.

It became a never ending drug war. Neither side had Striker.

Between the Shafts, Vulcan, and sniping Railguns, we were hardly able to leave our base. Most of our team hid behind the buildings, because the Shafts had us pinned down, covering all exits.

The red Vulcan, 1 Railgun, 1 Isida, Firebird and Freeze attacked our base, using DD or DA, a couple had both. We couldn't go anywhere because of the Shafts. They were one-shotting the smaller tanks and 2 shotting the larger ones. (They didn't have much life left after the first shot).

Both sides were drugging like mad.

I tried my best to keep our team alive, but but the Shafts were OP.

End score was Red: 100...Blue: 30.

This battle was just a couple days ago.
