On the Verge of Losing My Job... I Need Your Help

I work as a private photographer for someone else. A couple days ago, I broke my camera because of a faulty tripod; one of the tripod legs broke and the the camera fell off of the tripod's screw and fell. Now it's completely damaged and the guy that I'm working for refused to cover the costs of the broken camera. I tried sending it to a local repair-shop to have him attempt to repair it but he said that the camera is done for good as the main infrastructure of the camera is damaged. Now, I'm on the verge of losing my job and I really don't want to have to resort to relying on my parents for money. Whether it be a couple cents, a few dollars, or a rather large amount of money, it will be greatly appreciated and I assure you that the donations that I will be receiving will be spent solely for the purpose of me keeping my job. Thank you everyone It is much appreciated. *Note: That picture that you see is the last photo that I ever took with my camera before I broke it.

10/10 best scam ever.

Sure, it might sound like a scam to you and I understand that, but I can assure you that this is legitimate and I'm not trying to take someone else's hard-earned money for unethical reasons.

The simple solution would be to ask your family and friends. You would be able to pay them back later, unlike if you get money from strangers. I would advise looking for another job in the meantime.

hey guys im about to lose my job, i work as a paleontologist and a couple days ago i accidentally had a hunger craving and while trying to reach for a tasty t-rex bone i knocked off several important skulls. for little to no reason im not asking my parents to at least help with the debt, because those skulls were very very very important and now they are very very very broken. my gofundme page is below this message, even if you send me a couple cents or a small loan of a million dollars anything will help to pay for a permanent vacation for me to escape my ticked off manager. thanks everyone i probably wont reward you but its a good deed right

Yeah, I'm having trouble believing that you would go on a game forum of all places asking for money from people who very likely can't or won't do so. Even if you are genuine, you would get more help just asking your family. They'd understand it better than a bunch of complete strangers.

Come on guys, at least don't troll if you don't wanna help. This could be a joke or could be real but there's no reason to make fun of it right now. He must have his own reasons for turning to strangers so please, if you wanna troll, don't reply.

How is this not against the rules? There are rules for like literally everything but nothing about making topics that could quite possibly be a scam?

I know this could very well be real but 90% it isn't, I'd even say losing real money over the internet is more dangerous than losing your Tanki account. Anyone thought what could happen to their banking details after submitting them?

If this is real just tell your parents, trust me they will understand anything, accidents happen, we are only human. You can always pay them back later when you have the money. The best part is they won't charge tax. :P

So, its against the rules to put up links to sites for free crystals but its perfectly fine to scam people out of real money?

I expected this to be locked and deleted in 10 minutes but i guess not.

Well, you see this may or may not be a scam but the Fundraising website he is using is legit so there's no chance of being hacked or anything. Any money you donate will be your own choice. It's quite similar to someone knocking on your door and collecting money in person. It may or may not be a legit reason, but giving the money away will be your own choice and if that makes you feel good, why not? ;)

10/10 best scam ever.

There's a 50% chance of that. Besides, if you have no intention of helping, why do the worst thing you can which is troll a person who may/may not be in need? If you aren't going to spend, then don't. Let others decide what they want to do with their money.

if you don't even wanna contribute a cent, don't btw you shouldn't stop others from donating. Besides he said that if you don't want to donate, then you don't have to.

About your post:

You might say, " You have no right to tell me what I should do".  Well, then I'd say,"Yeah you are correct! But then the above post you made would apply to you too!"

And besides if this is really true and he is truly in need, you are doing a really wrong thing.

Sorry to hear that, as a photographer myself, I've had a camera fall off a table before, luckily the lens hood did it's job and took the impact, so I just needed a new £15 piece of plastic. I will say, this is why you have insurance on your gear when working as a professional though... A lesson learned there maybe.

This is one part of the poison of Tanki online. The people who are so narrow-minded and have absolutely no sympathy/empathy at all and quickly jump to the conclusion that he is a scammer. If you don't wanna donate, then don't donate. There's no reason to post hate comments. It's clear that he is desperate and trying to get any money he can.

What about the people who promise free crystals for your account password? What about the 1 person who was actually going to buy someone crystals?

Come on...Don't try to make unrelated arguments. As I've said before, the donation site is legit and he's not asking for any passwords. :)

Unrelated? Both are scams. Its a tank game forum for gods sake.

You have no proof of that. Scams don't happen on legit donation websites. They happen when you give away your personal information to someone else without checking their legitimacy. This is a donation. You give away whatever you want to give and hope that it will help the guy. That's all. No ones forcing you to give anything. And so what if its a game forum? We're all humans here and he might have hoped for some generous guy to help him out.

Would love to help, but sadly, the Christmas season has dissolved even the smallest of my savings :/

P.S.

The posts in this topic right here shows proof that the TO community has devolved from a fun one into a toxic, unfunny trolling mess.

EXACTLY, STINGER! Everybody in the EN community decides to assume the worst of people. This is totally unrelated to someone FORCING you to give them your password or account. This is a completely voluntary donation and he's not forcing anyone to donate. I can imagine the day where railgunis4noobz is in a desperate situation and is looking for any sort of money he can get to support his family and himself and how no one will believe him. You don't know this guy's circumstances. He may even have parents that refuse to help him out or are in financial debt.
