Myths & Facts

Splash impact doesn't interact with turrets

If you try to hit a tank through a wall (as explained in the fact above) you won't be able to hit him with the splash but a direct shot will work. So if the turret is in range but the hull isn't, splash won't deal any impact.

I disagree, because if this is true, why can't I shoot my rival through a wall in a Zone CTF when I am just attached to it?

he needs to be flipped sideways so most of his turret will go through the wall

Now all titles state the truth so you can just read through them quickly without the explanation.

If you really don't get the point of something or read one of the less obvious stuff, then the explanation under the title will make it clear for you, otherwise you can skip it.

Separated myths from facts, cause I'm planning on making this topic bigger so I need to divide stuff into categories.

Added the myth about dictator's shape

Added 2 facts:

There is a maximum speed limit

Both movement speed and rotation speed are limited (to prevent cheating). The rotation speed limit is close to 1 rotation per second. The movement speed limit is ~5 props per second (props are the "building blocks" of tanki maps).

Nitro makes you accelerate faster

Self explanatory.

Will add another one later, still didn't use it in a video so I don't wanna spoil it

Can you find out if this is a myth or fact:

FnF has access to control billboards of map

f39Vz62.png

Yeah they modify cache and hide their nicknames to not get ban.

Yeah they modify cache and hide their nicknames to not get ban.

If we would show the nicknames it wouldn't help finding out the nickname of the one who actually changes the textures since it's recorded by the spectator and not by anyone who's nickname would be seen in the video. Only reason we hide nicknames is that the video looks better without them.

We have official permission from the EN community manager to change the billboard texture for parkour videos, so everything is legit here and we won't get banned for this.

Fact:  myth: it's possible to handstand or freestand on viking's nose/front on the ground.

Edit: can't prove it, but happend to me

Maybe it was a glitch. Happened in open area, not too far from a concrete fence.

where did it happen? cause it's possible to handstand when just barely touching a wall with your side, or on the bottom of a ramp, or using a glitch that gets u stuck in the ground a little

I mean it says that "the weight parameter for hulls is disabled" or something in the "Format Battles" section, but for MUs idk

The weight gets set to its default weight for its modification.

For example, if you have a fully micro upgraded m1 wasp, then it will weigh as much as an m1 wasp that hasn't been micro upgraded in parkour mode

It is possible to hit ghost tanks under certain conditions

It has to be the first spawn of the ghost tank in this battle, which means he just joined the battle and spawned for the first time. If you fail catching the ghost, he can rejoin the battle to try again. It is only possible to hit a ghost tank with Hammer this way.

It is possible to predict how a tank will move when it dies

When a tank dies he is rotated to the left on all 3 axes, and accelerates upwards a little. The key point here is that the rotation is relative to the axes themselves, so it doesn't depend on the hull's rotation.

To make it more intuitive we can break it down into 3 forces:

  1. Straight up acceleration
  2. Rotation to the left
  3. Lifting one of the tank's sides into the air with twice the force of the rotation to the left

To predict which side will be lifted up, look at the squares in the ground. Rotate your hull so one of it's sides (not corners) will point towards the corner of the square you are standing on, and the opposite side of your hull will point towards the opposite corner of the square. Then self destruct, and the side that goes up will point exactly to the direction on which the 3rd force in the list above is acting. (that is the direction that the part of the tank that points towards it will be lifted up when the tank dies.

All of these 3 forces are strong enough to use in parkour tricks, but they can't make a big jump alone.

It is possible to shoot through tanks (without impacting them)

Stick your turret through the hull so it's edge is on the other side of their hull sticking out far enough, and avoid hitting the turret.

Added 3 facts :)

Added another fact, a genius idea of @sterre933 :D

It is possible to go through walls without dying - [ video ] - 1:38

Ghosts can't die, so keep a tank ghosted until he passes through the wall, he will get the no-damage-bug after passing through the wall, but he will stay alive.

Not really sure where to put this query:

Thunder with the alteration Armor-piercing ammo.  Does the splash still have an impact force (on the player, on teammates, on enemies)?

No, this alteration removes the splash impact force together with the damage.

What is this topic doing in the bottom of the forum? ._.

It's a very useful one for people who are looking for things to learn about parkour, could be helpful to have it more visible for new visitors.
