Bots at the game

I'm very serious. I've played many FPS games and I can definitely tell the difference between human and bot players.

Many times I've seen styles of play that a normal, even the lousiest-lamer-moron player would not play:

- "Players" only moving aimlessly and slowly through the battlefield, as if they are on excursion;

- "Players" not shooting at the enemy in front of them, despite they have continuous weapons - Twins for example;

- "Players" that do not care to capture the dropped flag, after the carrier is killed, they just bypass it as if it does not exist;

- "Players" that do not turn 15-20 degrees of their way to capture even crystals and crates at one virtual tank length if front of them!

Now I come pissed off of a game, where 3 (three, THREE!) "players" of our team were just as described!

At least mark the bot players at the TAB list of the game with some special mark!

These bots at Tanki are terrible implementation and jeopardy of the game! I'm really disgusted!

Tanki, WHY ?

Tanki, WHY ?

There are no computer players. They are all humans (with a pro style of game)

If I were you I would not bet on that. I know what I've seen, and I've seen similar behavior of bots on other FPS games.

However the Tanki's own implementation of Bots is just terrible.

tanki do not implement the bots. But it could be other people activating bots to play for them.

And, anyway, a lot of those reasons you say could be not because of bots but because the person see the enemy as invisible or because they don't want boxes (don't laugh, it can happen). So its not necessarily tanki's fault. Or they could be lagging (yes, lagging uber badly, maybe unlikely but possible). So don't blame tanki, it might not be tanki whose fault it is.

Game was running at smooth speed, no lags. No Invisibles either.

But there is a chance you may be right about:

...But it could be other people activating bots to play for them.

Or things might be even simpler:

It may be a double account scenario. And it seems plausible for the show I've witnessed. I guess a group of friends decides to join a game. They choose the side and each activates his/her other "dummy" and undeveloped player account on the enemy side. From time to time they "tap" the dummy to alive it, hence this weird "player" behavior. Thus they always win. Easy kills and superiority is guaranteed.

Hmm, not good ...

1) I don't really get what you mean by that, kindly explain.

2) I prefer shooting the person at the back, because in the long run it is the most cost effective. The guy at the back would just live because everyone shot the one in front. Also, If isidas/hornets are at the back, Thats what everyone does.

3) I hardly return the flag... I let the other people who are helping and don't have enough points to capture it.

4) In my humble opinion... 1 crystal is not so important to take unless I need only 6 more for a good upgrade. I hardly take crystals even if there are 5 around me, I'll let the lower ranks get them. Once a marshal asked me "Why don't you pick up crystals?"

And I will have to say... If you really think that tanki is implementing bots... How would you describe their human behavior when they are in the lobby?

The tanki control room (whatever that is) makes them never leave a game, and a couple of guys go round checking all are in ok games, if not, there is a human override? That is a reasonable answer, although I don't believe bots are real.

Seeing is believing, I'm really sorry I have not made video of it.

1) I don't really get what you mean by that, kindly explain.

"Players" playing weirdly. They don't bother to help/fight near their own flags by enemy capture, just pass by neutrally and slowly near a fight, and not shooting at all. Like ghosts. When fired at, don't return to fire ?!

2) I prefer shooting the person at the back, because in the long run it is the most cost effective. The guy at the back would just live because everyone shot the one in front. Also, If isidas/hornets are at the back, Thats what everyone does.

This is another story. What I've seen:

The front path for the "player" is blocked, the turret pointing at the same front direction, the "player" is next to bumping at armor contact into the enemy- still don't bother to shoot. Has Twins, what the hell ?!

3) I hardly return the flag... I let the other people who are helping and don't have enough points to capture it.

It is about the captured flag of the enemy, which a team human player fetches back to our base, the player is killed on its way to our base, flag drops, and the "other player" - the bot, is alone and close to the flag, 1-2 tank lengths, in front of him, and still bypasses slowly it in a hazy direction ?! Please ?

4) In my humble opinion... 1 crystal is not so important to take unless I need only 6 more for a good upgrade. I hardly take crystals even if there are 5 around me, I'll let the lower ranks get them. Once a marshal asked me "Why don't you pick up crystals?"

I also leave crystals to others, but these "players" simply don't change direction, even when they are wounded they bypass healing crates in addition to crystals. And these "players" are low rank sergeants in a game at which warrent and high officers are 60% of the players. This is weird!

And I will have to say... If you really think that tanki is implementing bots... How would you describe their human behavior when they are in the lobby?

Why not? Bots logistics and behavior at games is around 15 years old, chatting also is a piece of cake to tweak. One dictionary of common talk phrases and the BOT can be indistinguishable in short talks.

They must have. Because I saw an obvious bot (while my brother was playing on his acc and I was watching). It was 1v1, and this guy respawned, kept shooting with his twins, never turned, and then moved about three metres forward, then backed up all the way to the wall in Ping-Pong where he stayed, constantly shooting. He did this every time he respawned, never turning or anything. It was funny to watch, but seriously, they did this, it was mad! It must have been a bot because it was exactly the same all the time! Tanki don't set up bots, so someone must have activated a bot inside that acc.
