Here's the question: Why is changing your nickname so expensive to begin with? 

With most other MMOs where you can change your nickname it's for free. 

Yes, it's complex, but if it was half the price I bet a lot more players would do it. I'd do it - but it costs too much  :)

Modern games are designed to have changeable nicknames; so it is no issue.

But Tanki was not designed that way, and so it's hard(er)

 

I was told, that in the past it was so expensive, because they had to create an new account for you, with the new name. Then an employee from the customer service has to merge all your garage stuff and crystals and supplies into your new account, adapt the rank, friendslist, ....

So they charged a lot, in order to keep the workload low. The more tankers change their name in a month, the more employees they need to hire.. and in the worst case, crystals are all they got for it ;)

What if there is an in-game option which changes your nickname for 100k every time you change it.

 

Here's how:

 

You go in Settings > Click on 'Change Nickname' > It shows a blank space > Write your nickname > Click CONFIRM > Click CONFIRM again > Woop Woop, nickname changed automatically.

 

Clash of Clans has that system. That is MMO too, so that tells us its possible with TO too.

Good Idea but if someone hacks someone's accounts and changed the name so quickly, then it will be a real problem. I mean they will lose their popularity and also other things ...U can't say that they will change the same nick as before because it can't happen. a hacker might make same account as low rank.

The best fix for that is having an e-mail confirmation. Like when you press that button then you get an email with a link. And when you click that link you get re-directed to a page where you choose your new nickname and confirm.

Although I think in a scenario like the one you mentioned, can be taken care of via Help Desk.

The hacker will be able to change your nickname to something that you might not really like even if you get back your account
So it won't be really a beneficial update

Thing is, with clash of clans, its only one name change. So, if you mess up, your done. I know, Tanki lets you have more than one but still I see your point

I mean, what if someone gets on your account, and changes your nickname. Your nickname would be changed, so you won't even know the nickname of your account. I think there should be some sorta questionnaire like there is now so that if someone does want to change your account's nickname, they will need to know information only you should now.

I think you should be able to change your name from within the game, without having to use the external form in which you have to provide tons of proofs. In-game nickname change will be much easier than the form one.

They can already change your password and lock you out of your account.

Why can you not play it? If it crashes while updating, you can fix it by downloading it all over again.
