Good luck to all, thanks Cedric for translation if you had anything to do with it.

It's good to see provision made for EN, I was about to offer to translate rules :D

Actually, it was the Russian Community who provided the translations. They were probably done by a volunteer  :)

Me and my opponent have not come to a conclusion for the times. Whom can we communicate? The eSports officials have not provided their skype and if I go PM'ing them, they take ages to reply as they are too busy....Our match is today, not next year

I'd like to know what to do if my team is scheduled against an "empty slot."

mSblNq92S.pngDo we automatically proceed to the next round?  Are we required to post something acknowledging our passing on?  Thanks in advance.

You are required to post proofs to go to next round - http://ru.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=998649 this topic

Is it possible to change the official time? If we talk with the other team leader.

yes, only if the other tandem agree.

What sort of proofs? And does it have to be the leader of the team who posts?

That there is no enemy against you, and you or your team mate can post.

The topic is now locked???  What exactly were we expected to do??

The topic will open only in battle days, and will stay only opened for 3 hours, which means the default time is 17:00 UTC , topic will close at 20:00 UTC

Since we did not post, are we disqualified?  I looked through, and there are other players who advanced to the next round against an empty without posting.

How's it going.

Not too great. For the EN players it's been a struggle to get to grips with the tournament, due to most of the Tournament being in Russian.

It would have helped greatly if the topic headings on the RU Forum had an English translation next to the Russian words, as it is very confusing and difficult to locate anything (I know no Russian whatsoever).

What would also have been nice was if the EN eSports Team had posted all the translations on here, rather than the translations being hidden in a mass of undecipherable Russian.

We (@Beard and myself) made contact with our Tandem Opponents yesterday over Skype. He/She added me and my friend on Skype, but never responded with anything more than "?"

I think we can call a free win on that, but I forgot to post it yesterday on the results page.

What should I do?

Why don't they make separate tourneys for EN community

There are many reasons. While we want to organize more tournaments in the EN community, I want to approach it in a certain way.

Primarily, there's the situation where Russian teams are a lot more experienced at eSports than most of our teams. If we organize big tournaments here, we'll have a situation where Russians will be clear favorites, and most EN teams will be unable to put up a decent fight.

So, I want to approach this in a two-fold way:

  1. Start organizing a series of frequent, small tournaments that are unattractive to bigger teams, but can serve as a great training ground for our less-experienced teams, so as to help them get the experience to be able to eventually compete against the big dogs
  2. Facilitate as much as possible the participation of EN teams in Russian tournaments. That way, whoever wants to participate and get a shot at the really big prizes, can do so on a level playing ground. I'm already setting this part of the plan in motion, but it'll take some work as there are a lot of things to plan ahead for.

That's basically it in a nutshell. But this is not the place to discuss these things, so please let's stick to the topic of the Winter Tandem.

By the way, on that topic, I'm really looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback about how the tournament went (for our players) and what can be improved. @Dance_Commander, the Russian eSports administrator, is a very dedicated person and is willing to help us as much as possible with taking part in their events. The key is for us to bring them constructive criticism that they can act upon.

So, please leave your feedback in this thread.

On a side note, while none of our Helpers are officially involved in this tournament, I'd like to thank them for taking the time to pop in here and answering your questions. I really appreciate that  :)

If they never contacted you then you should take a screen shot showing the skype contact and post it on the results topic as a technical defeat. But as the topic was closed yesterday as it just stays for 3 hours opened after 17:00 UTC then i guess you can try contacting one of the RU officials there
