The Winter Tandem Tournament is here

There are many reasons. While we want to organize more tournaments in the EN community, I want to approach it in a certain way.

Primarily, there's the situation where Russian teams are a lot more experienced at eSports than most of our teams. If we organize big tournaments here, we'll have a situation where Russians will be clear favorites, and most EN teams will be unable to put up a decent fight.

So, I want to approach this in a two-fold way:

  1. Start organizing a series of frequent, small tournaments that are unattractive to bigger teams, but can serve as a great training ground for our less-experienced teams, so as to help them get the experience to be able to eventually compete against the big dogs
  2. Facilitate as much as possible the participation of EN teams in Russian tournaments. That way, whoever wants to participate and get a shot at the really big prizes, can do so on a level playing ground. I'm already setting this part of the plan in motion, but it'll take some work as there are a lot of things to plan ahead for.

That's basically it in a nutshell. But this is not the place to discuss these things, so please let's stick to the topic of the Winter Tandem.

By the way, on that topic, I'm really looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback about how the tournament went (for our players) and what can be improved. @Dance_Commander, the Russian eSports administrator, is a very dedicated person and is willing to help us as much as possible with taking part in their events. The key is for us to bring them constructive criticism that they can act upon.

So, please leave your feedback in this thread.

On a side note, while none of our Helpers are officially involved in this tournament, I'd like to thank them for taking the time to pop in here and answering your questions. I really appreciate that  :)

Basically, for the small tournaments your suggesting a version of Ranking/Weekend Cups. Am I correct?

Surely you know there are unofficial tournaments like these:  :D

Possibly. We'll see.

Awesome idea :) I honestly can't wait for the league system tho, it's more efficient to divide top clans and newer ones by that method rather than lowering prizes Int the hope that top clans won't find it worth the time :)

Yes, we wish to proceed.

Here it says what you have to do to report the result of your match.

7. Filing in battle scores after a match.

  • 7.1. After each round, teams should take a screenshot. Screenshots must show the final table of the round, the round score and the taskbar. After the match, the captain or co-captain of the winning team posts the match results and screenshots in the dedicated results topic "Расписание, результаты".
  • 7.2. The match results must be posted in the dedicated results topic within three hours after the end of the match.
  • 7.3. If the opposing team does not agree with the result, they must send a complaint to the eSports Officials (organizers of the tournament) via a special Google Form within 24 hours after the start of the match, as described in section 8.

Unsportsmanlike : The word used to describe Russian Tanki players in general. This definition has developed after several incidents during the recent Winter Tandem Tournament.

Apparently being a decent sport and forgiving an EN player for not being accustomed to the rules (they are hidden in a spoiler in a page written in Russian) isn't in their programming.

Disgraceful show by the Russian Tandem me and my friend were playing, and although they won cleanly as per the rules, they "exploited" a hole in our rules knowledge by encouraging it, rather than being generous and pointing out the mistake.

I will try my utmost to do the exact opposite should the Russians ever visit a Tournament hosted here, even though I feel the opposite right now.

:)

And you expected anything else? Theyre russians.

I expected something else, I am partially surprised, partially amused and very annoyed.

Oh well.

Kinda wrong to judge Russian players by 2 of which you have met. There are many (many many many) players who will help to other community members, its just might be their age of players you met, that were using advantage of your disorganization.

As in real life. Show positivity and fair play to others and chain will start. There always will be exepctions, but that shouldnt ruin fact that helping is caring and caring is most needed.

I wish you best of luck in EN tournaments and in Russian tournaments.

You're correct, I shouldn't judge the whole by a few incidences.

And how many times have russians hacked and cheated to beat others? Have you forgotten about the biased mods?

Why do we have to go to the RU forum for everything? Surely it won't take much time or effort to post everything on the EN forum as well. Get some of the EN eSports organisers involved as well. Some people don't have a browser that auto-translates the pages from Russian to English or whatever their strongest language is. I know some of the pages have the EN translations under spoilers, but only some.

Just a thought :)

1st of all. EN clans have used hacks/cheated to win. Lets take an example of Deadly Army and their disqualification in CC9 for sharing accounts.

Secondly "biased mods?" Do you have any legit proofs to throw that serious statements? If so, would be kind if you would share in PM, but if dont have, then lets please not spread false rumors.

I didn't see such a bad organization in the others tournaments like in this one ..

Already passed 3 days and nobody answered me on my post with the 22 January stage. I send a complaint, I contact the main organizator, I posted the proofs about my match. Nobody answered me, nobody explained me but I'm disqualified without being beaten. The only fact was just my enemies posted first some lies. What I have to say and to show doesn't count. The acts of my opponents was clearly a refusal to play and they tried to deceive/mislead me and my mate, but nobody cares -_-

The issue that comes with this is that the organizers have 2 different places to check. That complicates stuff a lot.

However, we are working out a different idea in which we are trying to make Russian tournaments easier for English players, so hopefully we can improve this in future tournaments.

Thanks for the suggestion!
