Can there is a little bit of harmony in the moderation?

Recommended Posts

I reported a guy for saying "stup*d russians". And the answer was "not enough reason for a ban".

Then I got banned by a russian mod, I asked him in PM why I was banned and he sent me the picture. It was because I said "lol stup*d". And it was not even directed to a player XD.

It's same for "id*ots" by the way. It's a censored word, and when I report player for using it, it's always not enough reason.

EN community says blue, RU community says red.

Incase you havent noticed, russian rules are different from the english rules. Russian mods love banning english players.

These greedy noobs just love crystals. That's why they ban people so easily.

contact Ostrica and see what she/ he can do about fixing it due to the fact she / he is admin in both chat sections

My ban is over, it was just one day. And I wont bother sending him a PM about why english mods don't want to do their jobs. Just look at this topic http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=344514&hl=

"Remember to block players who bother you by using the ignore option.(because I am tired to actually do my job and ban people that insult others)."

Blocking a player won't save the problem since he will still able to insult others. But meeeeeeh.

Mods aren't paid to ban - in fact some of the moderation jobs are mostly volunteer if i am correct. If applications are open anyone within the certain critera can be a moderator, it is to keep the community safe, and clean.

I don't think certain words should be "Blacklisted"

Like "Stupid" - I have a few friends - and I mean friends - and we like to talk about issues. including school blah blah blah. And I find wasting resources for saying a word such as this is just rediclous.

But as others pointed out Russian rules are different from EU rules. Be sure to remember that, and don't say any words that require you to put a

" * "  to put into chat.

We don't always agree (As you can tell the moderation process is just overrated) - but keeping clean on your end will help.

Simply ingore the insults. Don't fuel the fire (believe me it just makes it worse) - If it persits use the "/Vote User_Name" and *Hopefully* a moderator will take a look.

"If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"  - Unknown.

The /vote command is only for game violation (hacker, sabotage, conspiracy with enemy). Not for insults.

And "stupid" does not require an " * ".

As for russian rules, sure, they are different. But russian was not the language I chose in school. So I can't relly tell ^^

So the Russian mods adhere to different rules than the EN ones? How does that work? Can an RU mod just come into EN servers and start giving away bans left and right? That isn't right. That isn't right at all...

Prolly they can only ban in RU servers but I agree. Since EN and RU players have their accounts in the same "platform".

Actually, some EN people were doing a STG but since they werent capturing flags a russian mod blocked all their accounts for sabotage.

Guys, please. This isnt the right place to discuss all this. Please contact chat admins via PM to clarify this issue. As for what happened with topic owner, it might have been due to language translation issues. However, the best authority on this is a chat admin and it's best to contact them.

EN staff members do not any jurisdiction in other communities, if someone is banned by a RU chat moderator they gotta contact their chat admin GVA.

Blocking a player won't save the problem since he will still able to insult others. But meeeeeeh.

It does make more pleasant atmosphere in the chat since players are politely ignoring those who provoke others and do not fight with them. Same as in real life - our job is not to teach people not to swear or fight but to keep an order on the chat. And educating players to ignore trouble-makers instead of insulting back and getting banned too does a pretty good job for that cause.

They cannot. They however work on forum reports in their community and since they do not have good knowledge of English language mistakes can be made. We're currently working on solving that issue.

For any further inquiry please contact me or my colleague via private message, this is not a place for such topics.
