Twins self destruct

Like others have said, a video of the problem could help us determine what causes the problem. Would be great if you could record one.

It's just poor programming that will never be fixed

You should come in here with the predisposition that they will fix the problem. :) 

 

Does it give you a self-destruct timer? Does it only happen on certain maps? Has it happened only when you are firing Twins or anytime?

I confirm it happens, even if rarely. Somehow it is caused by "team mates". No mines and even no enemies in the battle and you get "self destructed". From 100% health to dead. Boom.

 

Maybe I am wrong, but it has to do with "contact" (team mate stopping or passing on top) and maybe (really maybe) specifically a hammer either shooting while in contact or while both are shooting or pressing a specific button which causes the glitch.

Getting the same thing here, seems like when i am close to someone and firing on them i self destruct. Something changed!!!   If i knew how to do a video i would get one.  

That's because of the new splash damage. You can self-destruct like Thunder if the target is too close.

Few days ago devs release a new update on twins.. they added splash damage, and the splash damage affect your tank as well lol

LOL... however yesterday I died twice... no splash damage.... simply a good hacker :D   He killed me, than I asked: "do it again!" and he did it :(

 

I am guessing the fourth hacker I see in 1300 hours and the only good one so far.

that is such a dumb change, its a short range in close gun and they add splash damage :angry: ....  Makes no sense

Players commonly complain about Twins requiring little skill for great performance. The developers thought that if Twins had self damage, players would have to think twice before attacking instead of literally holding down the spacebar 24/7. It's still really powerful, you just have to stay at least 4 meters or so away from your opponent to avoid hurting yourself. It's not supposed to be as good as or better than the dedicated close range weapons (Hammer, Isida, Firebird, Freeze) at point blank range.

Sure... everyone is going with other turrets requiring tons of skills for minimum performance...

 

Explain me how 1) you flip or push off the cliff other tanks staying 4m away and 2) how you play small space scenarios. Who gets twins loves "contact". It is like to ask shafts to get closer to other tanks before shooting...

Practically that was done when they buffed Shaft's arcade mode over the snipe mode  ;)
