Add keyboard shortcuts (e.g. for Garage)

Recommended Posts

I know that this idea will make lot of ppl be extremely lazy, but how about shortcut keys for the simple features it has in the top right hand corner of the screen?

The keys will be:

Battle ( B)
Garage (G)
Missions (M)
Settings (S)
Help (H)

The next one below is a two key step for confirmation.
Leave battles or log out (Esc)
Yes (Y)
No (N)

What do you guys think? :)

Besides adding such new commands??

What about making option to EDIT YOUR OWN keyboard?? A lot of games now on the market have option opening the setting of game, you can change Keyboard commands in settings.

Granted I've gotten used to most the key commands of TankiO... however... the main Turret commands? Z-X-C. Bottom left of my keyboard. Sometimes... my fingers come off the keys in middle of a fight, and I can't necesarely look down to place fingers back on the keys... so what do I do??

Accidentally hit the WIN key, which pulls up my Start menu... or hit the ALT key, though alone does nothing, but if I hit another key simultaneously... something that changes the front window of my computer OS to something other than my Chrome browser TankiOnline... and by the time I figure out what the heck is going on... i've died! It IS the Worse thing!! if possible... I'd like to change the keys to something else...and this made me think...

Why not allow all players the ability to change their own keyboard keys in their own setting or setup menu effective on their own computers?? This wouldn't effect anyone else computer or gameplay... except, if someone asks "How do you...? something" than another player wouldn't necessarily be able to answer them. Maybe they would guide them to see their own keyboard layout instead.

For those happy the way that TankiO already has it laid out, or wants to return to the "Default setting" they could have that option to!

I think  is not declining any idea, while he should be rejecting useless ideas.

What if I press one of these new keys unintentionally?

I'm trying my best, and I'm hiding many topics, so you are only seeing the approved ones, but don't worry, all my work will be reviewed by and he'll fix and mistakes I've done.

It's okay, and by the way I was not discriminating your work, you are another vital part in the forum. Keep it up. ;)

By the way, where is ?

If your fingers are on wasd or on zxc, how are you going to hit G unintentionally?

This isn't such a bad idea. I myself wanted to suggest keyboard shortcuts to avoid reaching for the mouse every time I want to change. And if the key is far from all other used keys (or you need a combination like Ctrl+G), then there won't be an issue of pressing it accidentally.

With Shift or Ctrl + the "G" won't be any accident and I'd agree more with this idea.

Well, the recent update that added custom controls completely fixed this issue, so I don't think this is necessary for the gold box. Other shortcuts would be nice though (e.g. garage).

These shortcuts (e.g. garage) wouldn't affect neither the game interface nor the game performance, I mean there is no reason for not implementing them.

Anyway, taking advantage with the new "Settings" menu organization, there is more space for more options like "Enable/Disable shortcuts"

Well, just because a setting can be added, doesn't mean it should be added. Having a lot of very minor and unimportant settings will make the game harder to use as new players will often get confused by all the options they will see when opening the settings menu.

But some players like it, even you.

And when the game is loading... there are some tips about the use of the game, such as the ranks, the garage, etc... There could be a tip about the shortcuts too. Moreover, I think the game wouldn't have more than 10 shortcuts.

Still the same concept. I moved your post to the second reply so that it compliments the main post.

You will kill the keyboard when it starts to load the garage right in the middle of a battle

add the CTRL key:

CTRL+G .........Garage

CTRL+M..........Missions

CTRL+S..........Store Savegame

..and so on
