Hammer - Damage after Shoot when being destroyed

That moment when you shoot the last time before they destroy you but your bullets don't damage them.

Is this a feature or bug? That bullets were shooted and they should damage even if you are being destroyed meanwhile. This would help a lot and would be more realistic.

This is a visual glitch caused by lag. When you press space, the visual effect of the shot is made instantly and you don't need internet for it. That's why you can disconnect your internet and still drive around and shoot for a while before getting auto-kicked out. When it comes to damage, however, you need to actually wait for the server's response, so it sometimes happens that someone kills you before the information about your last shot reaches the server. That's why it sometimes looks like you shot, but there is no damage.

 

I doubt that this can be fixed other than by physically moving closer to the servers. I suggest you just use the damage indicators to tell if your last shot counted or not.

 

P.S.

This particular "post-mortem" glitch happens with all turrets, but I did notice that Hammer often completely doesn't deal damage despite using a shot from the clip and visually hitting the target dead-on. But this might be a subject for a separate topic.
