Patch Update #436 - Clan system and other changes

Tankers!

 

Tomorrow’s update at 02:00 UTC brings the long-awaited first iteration of the Clans system!

 

This first iteration will have limited functionality. Clan licenses will not be available for purchase, and will only be handed out to a small group of well-established and veteran clans.

 

Once the system has been tested properly, we will make the remaining features available to the whole community.

 

There will also be a number of changes for Ricochet and Smoky, and to the user interface. For a complete list of changes, please see the Patch Notes.

 

 

So let me get this straight... you put on a sale for MUs.  I spend a bunch of crystals on smoky MUs.

 

Then a few days later Devs revise smoky and lower the Crit (again) and increase reload (again)?  Are you nuts? Do you want us to hate you?

 

Why would anyone by Smoky instead of Thunder which does way more damage?

This is good news for me, as I am SICK of stupid m1 smoky druggers that kill me 1-2 shots. Really happy that rico is becoming more powerful.

Ok. Can I finally ask my question after all of these tankers? Great! Um, I am currently in a newcomer's clan. With this update will the newcomers be affected amd how will they be affected?

Happy for Rico and very sad for Smoky :(

Now thunder will load faster compared to smoky. Why you guys always ruin smoky? Thunder is not being Nerfed even single time..

Thunder is already bad, so they don't need to nerf it more. Whenever I enter any battle with thunder, about 50% of the players would have emerald module with over 42% protection, and another 35% of the players with cedar, rustle and thunder modules with protections around 25-35ish%. Only like 15% of the players don't have protection. Reload for thunder is very high and accuracy is terrible for thunder. Rail's reload is even getting closer to thunder.

How many Rail or Shaft shots does it take to kill you - with or without Double Damage?

Its only a 0.1 second reload increase. Just play the weapon you like playing and tanki will balance out all the weapons.

How many Rail or Shaft shots does it take to kill you - with or without Double Damage?

1 shot (I use wasp m1 or hornet m0 most of the time). But at least rail and shaft are made to be powerful! Smoky is not supposed to be that powerful.

Exact same thing happened to me now. This isn't the first time either. The same thing happened at the rebalance.

 

Also thuner has lots of protection paints, rendering it not as good as it could be.

people saying they wont be 2 shotted by smoky anymore, read the patch notes properly, decrease on critical dmg and reload speed, sure you may have an extra time getting away but no matter what, smoky's normal dmg with double damage can still 2 shot any light hull around its modification

Can someone quote the old and new specs for the Rico Vertical angle decrease? I'm cautiously optimistic about M4 Rico being more usable now (it's been mostly junk since mid-M2 ranks), but if I lose significant vertical aim, then my verdict is it's a NERF.

 

After all, what good are two extra shots when NONE of them are going to hit the target? :blink:

Why do you always have need to make new stuff, but make them shop-exclusive or in this case only for real money. Why dont you make some new, creative way to make tankers work for the clan license? I think that we are all enough of the premium stuff...I dont undertand, can you explain me cedric? It seems that i dont get it...

 

I think that only the creator of the clan will have to pay real money. Members can join for free. But I'm not sure.

I'm not too happy about the Smoky nerf, but at least the changes are minor. I guess there will be fewer downsides to using Assault Ammunition.

 

Ricochet changes should be a net buff. The maximum damage range will be increased by an extra 10 meters or so, and having two extra rounds before running dry will come in handy. The auto-aim angles are now worse than Twins but still better than Smoky, and that shouldn't affect gameplay by too much.

 

I'm looking forwards to seeing how the clan system goes. Hopefully the release goes smoothly and the full system can be implemented soon.

I just dropped out of (yet another) uncompetitive one-sided game where 4 Hammers ran around with DD. Thanks to the new alterations, they can waste my Smoky.Viking in 2 shots at ranges where Smoky is supposed to do well. 

 

So thanks for nurfing Smoky's rate of fire. Great priorities.

 

With this Alteration system we have Thunder with fasters ROF and lower damage ... Smoky with slower ROF but more damage ... The two weapons may as well be called Thunkey.

 

Now Hammer with narrower cone and longer range plus a 5 shot clip, and it too is now a medium range gun weapon. ... let;s call all three Thamky.  And of course Rail has afaster ROF now and Shaft is being given it's arcade "pistol" ... 

 

Looks to me like Tanki is trying "balance" the various turrets by making them pretty dame alike to one another.

I often play with Smoky and Wasp. My only chance to face the opponents is to rely on speed. I fully updated my Smoky for what? To see you keep on weakening it? Grazie graziella e grazie al ca##o.

Clan System, what do you describe a 'well of/veteran clan'? And how much will it cost? When will we be required to pay it?

Shhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't let on that Hammer is OP! Of my five M4 weapons, Hammer is the only decent turret I've got left! :wub:

 

OK so Twins is still good - when the entire enemy team isn't wearing 40+% protection. :ph34r:

The changes in turrets' balance are minor. +0.1 sec Smoky M4 reload time and -10hp Smoky M4 critical damage.

I just went to compare against the EN Wiki to see the exact changes ... but now the EN Wiki has the new data too.

 

Still it looks like all the ROF changes sum up to keeping m0 at 1.8 and improving to a m4 best of 1.5. Previously the m4 was 1.4 sec.

 

The magnitude of the Crit hit is so small one wonders why the change was made at all.

 

So the ROF change it the important one for smoky.  AT m4 the reduction is roughly a 6.7% reduction in Smoky's sustained DPS. That's a pretty significant bite.  And it makes the Assult Ammo alteration that less useful.

 

I suspect that is why this change was made.  I know ppl hate the +impact from the alteration.  So now Smoky users are suffering a major DPS nerf because of the "optional" alteration.
