Artillery Turret

This post is doing very well. I currently has 320 replies. Keep on posting.

Do you want this topic to be officially the 'Let's discuss artillery/magnum' topic for all eternity?

In my opinon Maf should open a new one, a clean one, for all the people that are starting to hear about the new turret and us that want to talk about it. But they shouldn't close yours. There needs to be a 'Let's discuss artillery/magnum' topic sooner or later.

They should be posting their videos here in the forum.

Yes. Players should post their videos here in this forum.

I want to keep the topic's title name "Artillery Turret", and keep this topic open for other suggestions such as complaints, bugs, glitches, lags and other issues once the Magnum turret is released.

Maf can open a new clean topic for people that are starting to hear about the new Magnum turret if he wants to, but, in my opinion, there is no need to do that.

People who are starting to hear about the Magnum turret can post comments down here on my topic "Artillery Turret", and continue to discuss about it here.

This is good video to watch:

I can see in the video that the Artillery turret (Magnum) deals good damage to medium hulls. My suggestion is that Magnum needs to deal a bit more damage so that it can destroy a heavy hull with only two shots. Magnum must be able to be strong enough to destroy light and medium hulls with only one shot. Please understand that. Just remember that Magnum take quite some time to reload, so it needs to be powerful otherwise players using Magnum will continuously get killed between reload times.

Has anybody of the YouTuber already showed some of the stats in the videos?

Yes.

There needs to be an official topic named 'Let's Discuss Magnum' to go along with the other 'Let's Discuss __' topics. You have the chance to have a 'Let's Discuss ___' topic. Maf wanted to make yours the official one, me and others want a new one. It's your call. I'll be okay if yours becomes the official one and I'll congratulate you if that happens. Think about it. :)

Thats a waste. Theres nowhere on the map where you can take advantage of the arc.

I'm thinking Sandbox. And if the projectile goes way up then it can be useful even in Rio.

EDIT:

Now I'm afraid of that turret.

Please Maf do not change to title name of my topic. My title name "Artillery Turret" is fine.

The projectile shell of Magnum does go up. In fact, the shell can even be fired at 90 degrees vertically.

Looks like we really needed a turret that could shoot upwards, for Rio, Noise, Future, Polygon... you name it. But this turret that can't turn is like a missed opportunity. The artillery concept has made this turret this way and I don't like it.

The turret will have a massive damage just because it can't turn. You may say that is balance, I think not. Campers in a dominating team can annihilate the remaining players in the other team with little effort, just when we already have many unbalanced battles.

Not just that. It's also the very hard aiming mechanism that requires you to get the right position, rotation, vertical angle and power in order to hit the spot you won't. By only fear is that players might use it as a short range turret (like Twins with no alt) and drive around, shooting enemies right in front of them.

The reload time depends on the power of the shot too so in close range its basically a hammer with dp.

How much range will this weapon need for its maximum splash damage and minimum splash damage if it has any?

There is no damage drop, it might do more damage if you charge a shot longer like shaft.

People are seriously underestimating how much this gun changes the dynamics of the battle. Sure, it will be hard to use at first, but a player who masters artillery to the fullest extent will remove 99% of good camping/sniping positions. Maps like Silence, Noise, etc. where it was easy to hide in base, will no longer be so easy after Magnum is released. That splash damage is INSANE. Those who use Rail and "peek-a-boo" from behind walls and buildings are probably going to need good Magnum protection soon. ;)

Streamers/youtubers who got it, did they get basic m3 or m4? Anyone know? Because 1-2k damange doesn't seem that good for M4.

As I noticed from promo videos, this is one of these weps, that you need to make private battle and just practise countless hours to remember exact shooting positions, power/angle for hitting correct spot. This will be PROPER anti-camping turret.

Also, is anyone else abit scared of this turret to be ''used'' not the way it is suppose to? Like Parkouring into some places, where no one can shoot you and just keep shooting everyone due to the fact, that it can be shot differently than any other turret ingame?

Yes, of course, we need a turret that can shoot up and down because there is no turret in the Tanki Online arsenal that fires up and down.

The Magnum must deal massive damage due to the fact that it cannot turn left and right, but don't worry about overpowering since that the Magnum takes quite a long to to reload between magazines, it is still possible for any other players to kill you between reload times of the Magnum.

Don't worry. As soon as Magnum is officially released, developers might consider on developing quadruple modules that can give protections from four turrets.

When there is a Magnum firing at you in battles, just hide behind a wall, house or building to give yourself a good protection from its shots.

You are wrong. The Magnum turret will not remove the 99% camping extent of campers on the battlefield, since Magnum takes quite a long time to reload. Think again.

This weapon will be interesting in a map like Highways. It will be possible to shoot enemies without bein exposed to Shafts or Rail.

Yes. It will be possible to shoot down enemies even if you are exposed to Shafts or Railguns, since the developers will add a Magnum protection to new and existing modules.
