Check your internet speed.

If your internet speed is bad try rebooting your modem.

Clear your cache.

If the problem still persists try running the game on Standalone flash player or the client.

Thank you for reporting this problem. We'll make sure to pass it on to the developers and hopefully they will be able to fix it.

You might want to try the Standalone Flash Player to see if the issue isn't there:

Will try it, just to update on the situation, i used mobile personal hotspot to test if ISP issues, 3 different browsers on laptop, and puffin browser on mobile, sill the issue remains. Also in battles i usually see 'null' as in this screenshot http://prntscr.com/e1vl9i ,i will reply with the results with standalone as soon as I can,

Thanks :)

I tried using standalone, with my regular ISP and personal hotspot, same issue occurs, http://prnt.sc/e1vnev ,just to specify the issue in more depth, i can not use the filter box to search for nicknames in my friends list, also when some tankers invite me, their nickname and rank will not be displayed, and also looking at a battle from outside in the lobby, some nicknames and ranks are not displayed too. My current only form of inviting people is to invite them from chat as I cant search for them in my friends list, I hope a solution is found to this sooner, Thanks for taking your time in helping,

Regards, Nelson, aka Xtroya

This is because: Most of your friends are noobs, try deleting them.

Some tankers may not be able to play with me, or may not have strong tanks, doesn't mean I should delete them. A friends list is a friends list, where I can add anyone I wish to be able to communicate with, regardless of rank/strength. Deleting anyone is not an option.

A final update to this issue: The bug/glitch only begins to happen after I enter the friends list the 1st time, so the moment i click into my list, there are 'null' nicknames appearing.

None of this has occurred on my alternate account(s)

You yourself said that if you added too many people it started to become laggy, perhaps Tanki should limit you to 50 or 100 friends or something?

Alternatively, have different tabs for friends (more hassle), i.e. clan, irl friends, random ppl you like chatting to, etc.

I'm inclined to think it has something to do with the amount of players you have in your friendslist (including incoming and outgoing requests).

Have you tried removing and re-adding some players on the list?

Seems to be happening in several parts of the game. Leads me to my theory.

You are experiencing Server lag. Generally when a website isn't completely loaded you will experience such things, generally a refresh will help fix it. Generally - but in this case I personally think the game has a memory leak - Creating a whole list of issues. The overall issue is lag and stability.

But, hopefully overtime, my theory can develop into a hypothesis, and into a solution. Still doing research on my own time to help the game. As a programmer and developer of 2.5 years, I have a little experience in Code stability. Memory leaks from a coders viewpoint occur in your code since Tanki in general is complex it probably is likely that such is occuring.

On my main (this account) I always 'zero' my incoming requests the moment I get in, I accept all friend requests ever since I played this game (with the rare few declines). I have tried re-adding some friends, but it still happens. I shall emphasize that the issue only begins once i get into the 'Friends' tab of the friends list, the invited users, incoming and outgoing requests do not have an impact as far as I can see. I don't know how many friends I have exactly, too much to count, estimated over 10k, and i believe that it may be an under-estimate.

It would be unnecessary to implement these as it isn't very important, and as to having limited friends, the community would slowly perish as you must decide wisely who to keep in your list.

Interesting, so maybe the game can not load my full friends list resulting in a sort of memory glitch/bug?
