I smell formula update. This K/D ratio is just bollocks.

Well, it seems that with your new secret formula, it's also "[..] easy to boost the numbers using cheap tactics.".

 

It's clear that buyers will always be able to boost the rating using top equipment etc, but it shouldn't be possible that a low ranked player using only Titan + Smoky + drugs gets to the very top of the ranking (not exactly rocket science to master that combo).

 

I suggest to give much more weight to the Cry/EP ratio. While this may disadvantage low ranked players (battle funds much lower at low rank), I'd still consider it fair - why should a newbie be able to get to a much higher rating than a seasoned Pro..?

 

For the same reason, I'm also not convinced the amount of experience points should be left out completely for calculating the rating, as it seems to be the case..

My rating was over 8.2k at the start of the week.

 

No idea what I've been doing wrong, since I've been getting a 3+ KD in most battles and earning a lot of crystals (caught 23 golds this week).

It's interesting that your alternate account has such a low rating considering the great K/D - would have expected it to be much higher up..

Yeah, I think the Rating System isn't that reliable yet, because I've been in a battle with friends that have caused their Rating to increase whereas mine had decreased. We both had similar scores.

 

Edit: This is bizarre. I have a low rank account that had 7.3k rating. I joined a battle, then got called out by my family. I had to exit the battle, making sure I didn't die. I've logged in now to discover the rating has dropped by 1k ?!

Fairpoint. I recommend to postpone your rating sharing. I'll update formula next release to eliminate cheap rating boosting via k/d. And it seems that we should multiply rating by 10 or something.

Well I'll just keep it up to date. So once the formula is changed, I'll rework the list.

What about EP? Sure you want to leave that out altogether?

Are you sure EP is left out completely? ;D

 

Previous rating was bumped easily with EP farm. There was no point in playing better to get better score, one should've only play more. This is why you can't see if there is EP in rating calculation at the moment. It is there, but it takes ludicrous EP farm to make it worth it.

 

Although, currently it is too easy to farm rating by K/D. This is why you can't notice EP influence. I'll fix it.

No, I'm not :P It's just that by looking at ranking list compiled so far, EP seems to play little to no role. For instance:

13    @The.L-E-G-E-N-D         13760     8228    8092689     1.39    1.47

14                    13913     8220    2656320     1.39    1.51

 

Same rating despite one having 3x EP of the other and very similar K/D and Cry/EP ratios. So if EP is considered, I guess there must be other properties in the player profile used in the formula, that make these two so similar..

 

Although, currently it is too easy to farm rating by K/D. This is why you can't notice EP influence. I'll fix it.

You want to change the letter ® for Rating in the Experience Bar to an (E) for Efficiency while you're at it.

 

This should not be known as Rating because it causes too much hostility when players brag or boast. There are too many factors in this game for this to be considered a Rating as such.  A player with a good Efficiency score basically says he's been efficient whereas if you say a player is Rated better than someone else, then heated arguments are the outcome.

I'm sure, you have noticed (since you have access to all ratings data), you can have rating over 60-70k with just high K/D (Guy with 63k rating is placed 21st) I'm looking forward to formula update, since we all have to agree it's not good this way :)

Also, I'd like to ask, rating is calculated from experience earned, crystals earned, K/D by using secret confidential formula :ph34r: :lol:. Or is there also something more included?

If the next ratings are more based on the cry/exp and less on the K/D, it will be easier to boost your ratings. With the help of some friends, a big wasp-fire and they all leave and you take funds :D
 
And if the actual ratings give more weight to the K/D, I understand why my ratings keep going down. Maps like Arena does not help for the K/D :D

 

That's easy. Just let your script run like every day or so and get all the data from the Profiles. Everything is available, from equipment used over supply usage to earned crystals..


Oh yes I see, makes sense. Then I just have to subtract the numbers. Nice :D
