Which is better in terms of damage and time it is dealt? Railgun M2 Or thunder M1

Recommended Posts

When it comes to sustainable fire and damage over time thunder wins, but you also have to factor in thunders requirement to stay in LOS (line of sight) shooting at the enemy which also equals a bit more damage to your unit.

So I guess at the point you are discussing M2 Thunder and M3 rail are a matter of preference. At M3 though, which is really comparing apples to apples, Thunder is just a better gun.

One other thing of note is gun resistant paints. Prodigi, which offers the highest resistance against both guns, maxes out rail damage resistance at 30% and Thunder damage resistance at 25%.

Paints consistently favor the Thunder gun in battle over rail because they consistently offer up less protection on Thunder.

yawn. its like one of your boring posts on CC. stick to driving your dash about.

Usually I always +1 you, this time -1

I find eesydo one of the best members of the CC postswise, contentwise and in almost all ways. I found it was a loss to the CC when he left, mainly because he always was in depth on his subjects and had a valuable point. So don't criticise because of boringness, other people value so-called boring posts because it suits them. It might not suit you, but no need to insult eessydo for it, just ignore him, other people (like me) enjoy his style as it is so different (and so much better) than the short-post-don't-insult-people-even-if-what-their-saying-is-drivel style that so many others use.

Since i had my account removed for a public disagreement with the site owners, i cant say i go on CC anymore. Fact is the site is like a small cult. the owners are like cult leaders and the moderators of the forums are megalomaniacs. if you even mention tankionline on CC you get a warning/ban and the post/topic is removed. talk about paranoia.

As for eesydo, thats just my opinion. here, as on CC i found his posts dull and extremely boring. people like you, and him made CC what it is. so you stick to your opinion - i will stick to mine. if i want to say i find someones posts boring - i will. you seem to want this place to become CC version 2???

So far tanki is a place where you can criticise the the game, talk about other games, and generally have some sort of free speech (withing the rules). all in all a well moderated open forum. so the reason i voice my opinion is to counter what i see - people like you and mr eessy wanting the forum to become a sanitized version of what it is now - CC2. if you want that - stick to posting ass licking drivel on CC with your little clique.

cheers

MM

Thunder M1 and Railgun M2, Thunder will win most of the time unless the Railgun can find cover.

Thunder M1 = 11.71 DPS

Railgun M2 = 9.49 DPS

Whenever it comes to calculations, all/most the guns beat Railgun because of Railgun's slow cool down. But these calculations only come in effect if you are doing a 1 v 1 in an open map and each and every singe shot hits. As for thunder, the enemy does not have to be in your LOS (Line Of Sight), he just has to be in your AOE (Area Of Effect) In fact, most of he Higher ranked thunder players don't even attack an enemy head-on. As for the damage dealt before it dies, it would mainly depend on your Tank because Railgun rarely lives for a 2nd shot in a team game.

However, I have seen that when I'm camping Hornet gets me a better ratio on M3 Railgun than on M2 Viking. Which is logcally stupid but it is what happens to me. Other than that, using Mary kills me less as compared to when I use Tundra, At the end of the day the total damage dealt before you die will directly depend on how patient you are and how inpatient the Enemy is, in a 1v1 Railgun fight the person who can wait the most will always win. While it is the opposite in a Thunder fight.

Good point, BTW, what is the AOE of Thunder?

Area of effect. Like if you shoot a place close a tank, effects tank as well. Ex, the middle building for Fort Knox.

While I appreciate your help DarkStarz, I actually meant what is the AOE in meters (either as a radius or diameter) once the shell impacts the target.

I've found that the only thing that really matters is accuracy. I've put down plenty of m3 thunders with my m2 railgun, simply because I'm smarter and more accurate. Just because your tank is heavily armored and armed, doesn't mean you can hit anything. I've even been in games where the other team's snipers have much better weapons, but they're terrible with them. I got so bored I just left

actually, the ricochet does lose damage over distance. at 40m its 50% (I think?) and at 60m its 25%. Same with thunder and smokey (50% at 50m and 25% past 100) and twins (twins might not... I'm not sure).

Straight hands beat everything....

1 + You're talking about rail right...

I'm getting m2 rail soon if I can't get m2 hornet in the discount.

I suggest you play more often and get M2 Hornet then get M3 Isida then M3 Hornet then Prodigi.

That, I think may take time to figure out...

I know its calculated by an exponential decay function' date=' and I think its around 2 meters for AoE[/quote']

Thanks Justen. I also think it may expand per M level also. Seems like I get splash damage a whole heck of a lot more when those M3's are shooting at me.

I'm going for hornet I need 1 thousand and 700 for m2 hornet. But If I can't get that in the sale. I'd get rail because I want to use something in the Sale!

I'm going for hornet m2 if I got rail in the 25% off. If I got hornet in the 25% off. I'd be going for isida m3.

Edit: I don't have a lot of time to play and to get all that stuff.... I usually only have an hour on the computer...

I'm going for storm as my paint.

My goal is Hornet m2 then isida m3 then Storm. And then get rail m2 then m3 or if shaft is out I will get that instead.

I don't ever think I'll be able to get m3 hornet its 12 K!! it will take me months.
