[Declined] Idea for the rating system to actually make sense

Recommended Posts

I came up with an idea to throw whatever it is the devs got thrown together and it's much simpler!!

So, you'll have a score when you start the game of 0 and as you play battles your points will go up depending on if you win or lose. If you're on the winning team your points will go up and vice versa. But, the higher you are on the leader board, the more points you will get and the lower on the winning tea you are the more points you will lose.

Simple as that.

Now there are people that play more than you so they'll gain points faster so you may see yourself go down now and again but not a constant sky rocket down that you can't fix. I mean I won SIX xp/bp matches in a row last night. Full 4v4 battle on Sandbox and guess what? My score kept. Going. Down.

Points you earn will NOT increase as you go up in rank. They only increase with how much score you build up during that game. So, if I get 5,000 score in a game and win, I get 5,000 points. I lose that much as well if I'm on the losing team.

I don't know what the devs came up with and it may make sense to them since they created it...but in the end it's just a mess! There's no point to it. How can I say I'm good, when I am, yet my score keeps going down?

This idea sounds a lot more simpler.

The main point of this new complex rating system is that it needs to be impossible to manipulate and boost manually using artificial methods (wasp+fire battles or some special closed events with friends). The system you suggest will be instantly "cracked" and before you know it, players will be playing 1v1 battles for 1 kill/flag to boost their rating by getting a ton of wins.

So yeah, I hope devs created an exploit-proof system for the ratings, which can detect when a player is trying to boost their rating. Not really much we can suggest about it, but I can tell you for a fact that your simple system would be pointless to implement as it won't show a realistic representation of a player's skill.

The current new rating system is still broken though. I won 3 Bobruisk CTF's in 1st with a 350-450 score gab and lost about 8 points off my rating.

There really isn't any 'perfect' system really.

Me too, i played several matches with amazing team. We won and guess what? I lost more than 20 points in like 4 of these battles. Also i wasnt drugging because it would be waste of them.

From what I have seen, there is a good correlation between your rating and how good you are at the game. I'm not quite sure how they managed it, but I think they quantified skill. Because of this, simply winning a battle, even by a big score range, will not improve your rating. You, personally, must show improvement as a player. Of course, the system is not perfect- you can help a battle without getting a large score. Lets give the system a month to criticize it. Day-to-day changes are not enough to go on.
