Patch Update #439 - Balance Changes, New Alterations and Bug Fixes

It means you can choose either one (and only one) to equip.  Rail gun has the same setting

What he means is in the main twins page in the garage, instead of a button to click for each alteration (as it appears there should be), only 1 of the buttons can be clicked, and it shows the info for both.

Because both of them are m1 alterations, every turret can equip 1 m0, 1 m1, 1 m2 and 1 m3 alterations. And for twins, there are 2 m1 alteration for choosing, and only 1 can be equipped.

If users consider a turret "overpowered", the problem is very often that they fight the turret in a map where this turret excells.

Twins can rule Island, but it's lost on Parma. Firebird the same. Rail on Parma is awesome, but on Island you have a very hard time.

 

-> Alteration could be used to close this gap.

 

If alterations are used to adapt turrets to the maps, then the balance could focus more on the uniqe features, instead of making all turrets more and more alike to each other, in order to have them balanced.

 

 

 

So I thought about how to adapt Twins + alterations to this.. How about making it like that:

 

New Twins

 

 

  • New default Twins:
    The former Twins M1 Alteration Plasma Core Accelerator will become the new default mode, the standard twins.
    It comes without splash damage. This is most closest to the midrage thinking, that was presented to us as a reason for the change.
     
  • new Twins M1 alteration #1:
    Twins with today's damage profile and range, but a little slower bullet speed (same reload, but slower bullets). This turns it into a powerfull close combat turret, that has troubles to fight midranged
     
  • new Twins M1 alteration #2:
    The new Twins (like plasma Core accelertor today, with the new fast midrange style bullets and range) but with additional splash damage. The splash radius would have to be increased to 6..7 meters, which makes splash usefull to be used vs enemies on range if you miss a few bullets close by  (remeber the lower damage due to plasma core accelerator = default mode), but it will be truely troublesome in close combat. This would suit Twins-Viking users, as their hill allows them to keep distance.

Twins M3 has two alterations in one slot.

 

This is something that does not exist in any other turret. The developers have said that there shall be only one alteration per slot.

I was playing 3 hrs Noise CTF in red. All blue camping and rightly so as they were winning 5-2 after 2.5 hours. We could not do anything in spite of 3/4 isidas. We were just getting killed over and over.

 

I decided to make Devs happy and wasted 50,000 crys on the Alteration of my Twins.

 

WE WON 8-5... welcome back old Twins :wub:

 

Glad to be using a "noob" weapon which cannot shoot through walls like others, cannot target "approximately" and hit like others, cannot shoot through dead tanks like others and now has a smaller angle of fire.

 

PS.: I never used the space bar in 1300 hrs...

That's stupid, I'd rather stop using it, than wasting 50k to bring this boring weapon back to normal.

 

Looking in your profile, at your rank Twins is the only m3 weapon that you own, you don't even have the other weapons. You obviously don't know how to spend your crystals. All the way up to generalissimo playing only with twins? That must suck. Try buying other weapons.

 

I think I played at Arena recently with you. (tankomate1)

 

PS: And doesn't make sense to have been losing the game only because you were using a twins with splash damage, and then you remove the splash bringing the weapon back to normal and suddenly you win the game. LOL Come on.

Looking in your profile, at your rank Twins is the only m3 weapon that you own, you don't even have the other weapons. You obviously don't know how to spend your crystals. All the way up to generalissimo playing only with twins? That must suck. Try buying other weapons.

I rather master my skills on a single piece of equipment rather than being a mediocre player mastering his credit card skills only... :P

Judging by your overall D/L, you are far from a master...

I also haven't spent money in this game, but I have 4 m3 weapons and could have had a few more if wasn't upgrading them, but i like to upgrarde, my Viking is 32/50. I upgrade even paints (now modules). So that's why I'm curious where you spend your crystals.

 

Wait, you have used only 29 double damage, 19 double armor and 7 repair kits so far? That's not possible. it's either a glitch or there is something really wrong with your already weird profile.

Exactly... play 1200 hours without drugs against druggers and try to have a DL close to 1... than we continue the discussion... ;)

That's weird, you must have saved thousands of supplies. Why you don't use them?

 

For first time I hear about someone collecting supplies throughout his entire game experience and never using them.

Long story... but luckily they do not have an expiry date so... maybe one day it will be possible to sell them :D

Can i have some of your drugs pls ?

If they create a feature where I can drop you some drugs (like DD, DA, ..) and you can pick them up and equip them right away, then sure you might have some. I have no use for them anyways ;)

 

na, honestly:

I liked Twins like it was, and I purchased it during the xMas sale.. and now it was nerved. yepee.

Another 50k I've to spend to get my turret back. But at least I have the chance to get my turret back (not the case for my Isida, which was my first M3 on this account).

And if I now consider that the Designer _want's_ Twins to be nerved and put into a midrange mode, then I think the proposale I gave hit the point and gives the best outcome.

 

What would you propose, if you had the chance?

(btw, you can post your Twins idea here, and if it get's close too soon, then just create a new topic in the Ideas section; in a follow-up post you can quote the replies you got here into your Twins topic.

Having them here usually gives your dev's attention.

I just tried playing a DM mode on two maps with the ol Vulcan/Wasp. I quit after a few minutes because quite frankly Vulcan has been ruined. The lodd of gyro effect means I am missing more than I am hitting, ANY impact force at all throws off the shot. Vulcan went from the most stable weapon by far to probably the lest stable by far. I previously estimated the change cost me 10% to 20% missed shots. It's more like 40% to 60%.

 

Call it a 40% nerf ayop the recent 10%. nerf Thanks Tanki. No one knows customer satisfaction like you-all.

 

Just tried again. Even worse... the loss of stability is costing at least half my hits ... the only wany to hit anythig is to sit still and hope no one at all hits you. This is a full 50% nerf at least unless you are a mamonth user.

 

And that is not even taking into account the massive loss of vertical angle. The loss of gyro alone is a 50% nerf yet they still had to gut its vertical reach?

 

I honestly consider my Wasp / Vulcan account unplayable now. U am a few thou exp points form lelving up- for the m2 Vulcan and I am sure as hell not going to buy it. I son't see me even reaching the level.

 

I am a player who believes is spending money on a good game to keep it afloat (bit not to buy a competitive advantage.) I've bought GBs before and bought more over Christmas.

 

I will never spend a dime on Tanki again., I will dance a jig if and when this company fails finacially.

 

Now the connections are so bad I cannot even log on without many many attempts.

 

Again.

 

The one time I did log on my tank spwned then proceeded to drive straight forward until it was out of bounds and self-destructed. The turret would not turn, the hull would not turn, the tank just drove w/o me touching the controls.

 

Tani's quality service is just so damn impressive you cannot help but love the game and I am sarcastic bastard.

At last I was able to completee one daily mission: pick up 2 RKs.  It took well over an hour of failed log in, lag so bad the tank did not respond to controls, and silly attempts to use my Vulcan to damage enemy tanks (ha ha as if!). So I found a game with only one player in it and manged to get my tank around the map long enough t find the 2 RK.

 

Talk about a thrilling game to play!  Over an hour to drive over two boxes.  SO much fun.  Such replay value!

 

Then as soon as that one daily mission was completed the red ! showed on the icon. I clicked to leave teh battle to re-join the lobby. As soon as I did the red ! vanished.  When I clicked the missions icon nothing happened.  Changeing serviers did not fix it. All other icons responded to clicks. Only the missions one did not.

 

So I logged off and logged back on. The red ! did not show! But clicking the icon DID  open the missions window and I WAS ABLE to claim the one daily mission that had been finished.

 

With that I logged off and posted this report.

 

I know I am angry at this game and I know I have gone to length to express that and I know I sound like an asshole.  But seriously, the Tanki player base should be up in arms over Tanki' 2017 changes.

Vulcan is a constant damage dealer, that has to expose itself constantly in order to deal damage.

Even a Twins (also constant damage dealer) can make more use of cover - because a Vulcan has additionally the spin-up spin-down times.

 

The gyro nerv is a bad thing.

Spinup/down or heating are more suitable to nerv a vulcan.

Maybe the max.temperature that vulcan could reach should be increased, if it's possible to heat faster then an Isida can heal it. So the Idida could prolog a vulcans life, but those unlimited, infinite, invincible damage pair of Vulcan+Isida would be broken up.

See what ideas arise from someone who actually knows what it is like to play the game?

 

Snottiness accomplished, I'd like to make one more point.

 

I do not htink this was intended to be a nref. I think the devs honestly thought they were helping Vulcan.  I surmise the typical Vulcan player (Vulcan + heavy hull + spacebar brick + static hull + optional Isida) complained about how hord it is to fight enemies at close range.  So the devs gutted the gyro to enable these Vulcan noobs to spin their turrets.  Plus of course these same spacebar brick noobs would also be complaining abut the weak damage zone.  

 

So Tanki gave the noobs what they asked for. And since Vulcan was getting all this additional power that had to be paid for by a loss of vertical arc.  But of course this destruction of the gyro effect was not a boon it was a huge nerf. So we have a vertical arc nerf being imposed to "pay for" an even bigger nerf.

 

I wish I could test the system more, but lag issues prevemnt me from logging on.

If it was not ment to be a nerve, but just ment to please some less skilled players, then the gyro should stay 100% and the turning rate in fire-mode +30%..+50%.

 

But I think it was a nerve.. in order to make vulcas easier to be countered.

Pro rails try to hit the vulcan at it's turret which makes it lift up and releases it's target from it's vertical autoaim angle (remember the less auto aim angle? :p ) but most players are happy if they hit the hull.. which does not lift it enough.

Well my suggestion is actually simple , just make the new twins alteration a standard feature beside the existing

Standard feature so when a tanker buys this and only this alteration he won't worry about joining battles

With alterations off, my idea is not about changing the stats of twins but more of a change in the naming

of the new feature.
