ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE!, NEW PARKOUR! (kind of)

Note: to put this into context, rotating your hammer 90 degrees from "c" to whichever side you're flipped on, the bullets will bounce back and will likely hit you to get on your left side

Moved from Game Discussion

So what's so special about this? You always used to be able to un-flip yourself with hammer when you were on your side.

I totally did not know that... As if we weren't able to do that before the update. It's nothing unique to Hammer either, all the turrets that have recoil can do this...

Thunder can do this too. It's nothing special...

so hammer pellets ricocheting back at you that gives you a flip from impact force + recoil for another possible flip not special

Thunder has recoil and impact force too. To sacrifice for there being no ricochet feature, Thunder has splash damage, which is pretty much like a ricochet feature when in range of the splash. Edited by cube3e

except the splash always pushes you in the same direction no matter what part of the tank it hits - imagine an arrow starting at the center of the explosion and going through the center of your tank, this is the direction of the push :) even if that arrow goes through solid ground.

Not true. Try shooting a wall with Thunder torwards one side of your tank, that side will be moved further back than the other.

You made a mistake in your experiment. What rotates your tank is the position of your turret on the hull, it's not perfectly centered so the recoil from the turret rotates the hull.

I took some screenshots to explain it:

before the shot:

after the shot:

You can repeat it yourself in the game.

A proper experiment you can do to see for yourself that the push of the splash is always relative to the center of your hull is by doing a basic thunder jump when the jumper stands with just the edge of his tank beyond the edge (like in the screenshot in the spoiler below) and you'll see how the tank gets pushed based on what I explained in my previous reply, without the front of the tank rotating upwards and going any higher than the back of the tank. The jumper will remain perfectly straight in the air and will move without getting rotated.

have the thunder shoot under you where the black mark is (or a little higher)

And here's a video where you can see it happening: *link* (in the rest of the jumps in this video the jumper is spinning in the air but that is only because the jumper himself shot)

You can fly into the air and catch a gold using hammer+wasp

Usually someone shoots you and you miss the gold.  -_-
