Self-destructing still gives people who damaged you points.

So when you get joint kills, points are distributed to the people who helped. But if you're near to death, and SD, the people who damaged you get no points. I hate pulling some strategic maneuvers that force the opponent to SD because i won't be getting any points. Maybe this will persuade more people to do such maneuvers.

Agree with the OP due to the fact that Tanki seems to want to promote skilled play, and this is one way of rewarding those who use the enemies splash damage to their advantage.

Idea is when person self-destructs every other people who hit him before that gets 5 points each, because people often self destruct intentionally to annoy people and not give a kill.

Maybe the points we make should be based on the amount of damage we make and not on kills. That way even when your enemy uses an RK we keep the points and continue to get points if we keep hitting him / her.

i'm sure that would open new ways of power levelling, a person must die for exp to be distributed, and the exp depends on the percentage of damage the enemies have dealt on you, but their is a cooldown i believe for when your damage share becomes null, i.e in xp/bp u may make someone 1 shot, but like a minute later, ur team mate kills him/her and steals the full exp and you get nothing for it. maybe any damage already dealt should stay and not become null over time until the person uses a repair or is being healed.

I never understood why there is a cooldown :/ what's the point of it? And even in XP/BP when 2 players shoot someone from the enemy team within the cooldown (as in when points are distributed), the one who shoot first usually gets 12/13 points. However if someone kills an enemy using 2 shots, he gets 10 points.. so yuo get more points if you make someone 1 shot rather than kill them?

You are right, they can power level using Isida. With RK would be expensive or slow.

K didn't know this existed so this was the topic I started, thanks Maf for putting it here.

You ever been in a battle and someone has a splash damage weapon or is near an edge? And then you deal lots of damage to him and he kills himself? My idea is that if an enemy self-destructs, you get points.

There can be two ways

1: If he is a splash damage weapon or jumps off edge, you get points for the damage you dealt to him before he SD'ed

2: If he manually presses the delete button, in which he loses 5 points, you get 5 points; if two or more players attack him, they can either share the 5 points, or each get 5 points, depending on devs decision if they implement this idea.

This can be really helpful when playing against magnums and thunders, who like to let you deal lots of damage and then kill themselves and leave you badly damaged. It can also help with the kids who hop off the edge to escape death from you (especially in DMs).

Software wise It will be hard to determined if you caused the self destruction or not, but a self destruction should mean points for the other team.  But the problem then will be saboteurs.

When an enemy self-destructs he loses a kill and some pints.  That will lower the end of game Cry payout.

In TDM self-destructs subtract 1 kill from the team total.

in other words what you are asking for is already in the game.

He's talking on a personal level, you're talking about it on a team level. Yes, it somewhat does benefit your team marginally but when someone self-destructs, everything you wasted on trying to kill them is ... well, wasted - absolutely nothing came out of it.

You get more Cry even if it is just one. That is not "absolutely nothing".

What do you mean by "strategic maneuvers"?

I use the +impact smoky ammo and I am always looking for ways to hit the enemy to flip them. i don't care that I don't get points as it helps my team.  When I flip 9all the time with vulcan / wasp)  I hope an anemy blows be up so I do not lose the points and the kill.

I guess this is not a bad idea itself. But it should be part of a comprehensive look at how points and Cry are awarded.
