Randomize supplies - what supplies drop where

In the Live Stream chat with Hazel he mention's wanting to make the game a little harder. So I got 2 parts to the  idea, which it can be brought into battles - in regards to supply drops, and what supplies drop where. 

 

 

 

 

So what would happen is in Idea A

 

 

 

You join a new battle. Where supplies drop - would be randomized on what would drop. And those would stay for the entire game. 

 

 

OR

 

Idea B

 

 

They are totally random, so if you pick up a health box on the middle area on island map it may now be where the double damage box is. 

 

Basically, when they respawn they'd go into a different locaton each time

Note: Just for demo each supply could drop ANYWHERE. It would change how in battle drop zones work. Just like gold box it will be a unique location each time  - in either way I proposed. I used red to  litterally draw you guys a picture to understand it.

Interesting idea, but I don't think it would make the game harder. Just more random and less skill-dependant.

hmm... True. but on bigger maps, if you are under attack people go for the health box, it being randomly moved would make it harder to get the supply making it more challenging. :)

 

I only used Arena for demo purposes. (in writing I used island) but for demo visual i used arena, its a small map easier to explain the idea.

The skills would be unnecessary and the players would just need luck to find the supply they are looking for.

well then one of the Devs would need to boost my idea. It isn't a complete idea there is always room for improvments. I don't ever put a lot of "Effort" in explainiing because that is pointless, I get to the main idea of the idea and leave it there. The Devs were mentioning they wanna make it more challenging and also that supplies were giving a unfair boost (thier exact words) - so I came up with a partial solution. It gets your foot through the door, and then after they can revise add to edit modify etc. whatever they wanna do. Or other players think up that keeps the general idea flowing.

This explication took less than 3 lines for you. Summing it up, this approach will likely change if it's taking into account in the future.

My idea is to bring back random drops without removing the new ones. We could have a separate option for "Predictable Bonus Drops" and "Random Bonus Drops".  By choosing Random Drops option, drops will fall as they used to in the past. This would add a different element to the game and allow players to try something new.

nice idea but there are many drawbacks though . the most important one is that it would make the mission "collect a certain supply" very difficult .

This type of missions should be removed IMO. They serve no purpose in the game.

People already complain about supplies making the game less skillful and more luck based, so you want to completely randomize where on the map they drop? That's about the only thing on the map that's a constant.
