Turn off Processes of Chrome to reduce memory consumption. (applies to using the client!)

What is annoying about Chrome that for every thing it has running takes up its own process. The bad news of this it runs a lot of memory, which can be bad for any computer. Whether it is a good one or a cheap one. Especially for gamers. Why run  something if you aren't using it right?

 

This also applies when you use the client and have chrome closed. When chrome is closed it will still run certain instances in the background. Lucky for us, they added a setting to disable this. And only run those when chrome is running. 

 

To do this you can click the  (Menu icon) and choose settings. 

 

Alternate way to get to settings is to navigate to Chrome://settings

 

Next, if you scroll down you will find this:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also a good tip to know is if you use Chrome for the game, you should enable Hardware acceleration.

 

Another way to save memory (this is what every instance of a program uses) is to not use too many plugins. Or only enable the plugins you need essentially for that browser session. 

 

In chrome they call them extensions but they are the same thing. 

 

To get to these settings click on the  (menu icon)  then go to settings. And choose the Extensions Tab or navigate to chrome://extensions/

The disabled plugins will be greyed out. 

 

There is no save button in chrome, but it is a good idea to relaunch chrome to make sure those settings take effect. generally speaking everything saves automatically.

What this can do:

 

- Save Memory Reducing some glitching in the client caused by your computer. 

 

- Reduce Crashes for low memory computers

 

- Prevent Total failure of your CPU.

 

- Prevent unneccessary processes from constantly running and using your precious resources.

No because this impacts the entire computer whether the application is running or not xD

 

Hopefully a mod will comment soon, removing applies to the client would remove unneeded wording, but how I have the title is how it needs to be.

Nope it will reduce your performance when chrome is CLOSED. 

 

When you hit the "X" processes still run, this is mostly the extensions usually that are running. So if you wanna use Firefox or Standalone or the Client your computer will overload with these unneccessary processes still running.
