Just a piece of constructive feedback but imo, the last two weeks of contests have been far below par. I didn't enjoy the lack of creativity and entirely speed-based contests.

Just asking, but why isn't there a separate section for the French version of the newspaper?

 

Is it because of the fact that French uses the English alphabets (writing style)?

Lack of reporters?

guys not every month can be up lifting with contests.. you also need to understand that if there is something big going on in the English community contest section which Mr Debono puts out, then the paper section has to do something less interesting in order to push more into his contest .. and it goes the same back that the paper will put out something more exciting then his or wont have any contest .. so its basically a flipping coin thing .. you can't do both sides on contest .. then players would be torn between them ..this only my opinion on it...

 

also next week will be Miss Tanki contest and right after it will be Mr Tanki .. so get your thinking caps on for it .. in the past it has been photo's or a video of u in it .. not sure yet what this one will end up getting us to do .. so may the best tanki win...

now for the Article ... great work it brought back a lot of good old memory's , like moon silent and the blue drop box's which most old time players miss... there were a lot of good battles and so much fun learning tricks and things ..its not the same as much as it was back then...

Sure thing. I highly encourage for more contests similar to Naw-Ledge (one of the best contests ever), The Quick Witted Archivist and maybe a writing one such as the Map Renaissance Campaign where we had to WRITE about a certain map and in an interesting way.

Hi Cortana, allow me to answer this, I hope ZigZag would not mind.

I'm not sure if i should take it as a rejection of foreign language in the EN Newspaper (NP) or as a supporting voice for a fully independent French Newspaper (like the Indi and Arabic). I guess this is the later you are referring to. :)

There is different aspect to consider:

* Experienced admin: a senior reporter with good knowledge of the French is key to a successful NP. Both the Arabic and Indi admin have experiences as they contributed for quite a time for the EN NP. There is currently nobody in the French team able to assume that role.

* Ressources and content: As you pointed out, we need a critical number of reporters to write enough articles in order to fulfill a robust editorial. We have quite a good number of them, however they are mainly focusing on the stand alone e-Sport articles and the Special articles that are published within 7 days of the event occurrence or the V-log or the game update. Due to this added workload you can see that the number of article dedicated to the NP has been affected, only one French article in this issue. Yes we do require more French reporters/articles so we don't end up with a unacceptable low number of French article each month.

* Audience: non EN young audience is not skilled in English so they do not come here. Having French articles in the NP and the other forum will help to attract and build the audience. And who knows, provide us enough suasion for a French standalone NP.

 

IMO I would rather have french articles in the EN NP than no article (like in the BR community) or the uneven system like in the DE community.

The NP offers a broad variety of contest with different level of difficulty, they might not all suit your liking, nevertheless they might suit other people liking. I think it is good to have a good diversity of contest as not everybody is skilled at writing or at Parkour videos or at drawing. The latest "crappy" contest did had some big success just by looking at the number of view, they also do bring new tankers to venture in the forum and the NP. By the way this is not a nice term to use and very unfair for people who spend time creating and managing them.

The contest type also reflects the mentality/spirits of its current reporters team, we create at the image of what we are, it happens we have more parkour fanatics and tank killers, but also we have lost some creative people. I'm sure we would take any constructive advice and feedback into account to suit everybody for the next issue.
