Overtime in team games

We have all felt that feeling inside us of "We could have won! This doesn't deserve to be a tie! Arrrrrgh!" when we tie in a team game. Now, I made this idea a few months ago, but it got denied because some people only have 15 minutes as a break and an overtime game would screw up their schedule. I'm going to make it better this time. Overtime for TDM and CP should be an extra five minutes each time until someone wins. CTF overtime should be sudden death, 'cause that's really exciting! And fun! However, at the end of normal regulation time, people can have the option to leave the game and receive their crystal amount with no fee at all. Also, (this is an add-on; don't decline it because of this; just take it off and act like i never brought it up) people can vote on whether they want an overtime match or want it to be settled as a tie. In TDM and CP games, this vote happens every new overtime round. At the end of overtime, everyone will get a bonus as if the overtime was an actual game. 

 

This overtime will allow people's minds to settle because they no longer have to live with a bitter tie.

I don't see why you're so against having an even score. I actually like it when games end in a tie because it means that the forces were equal, everyone did their best and everyone got the reward they deserve. It's even more fun in TDM and CP, because points change so fast that having a tie seems really unlikely.

 

And what do you mean by "We could have won! This doesn't deserve to be a tie! Arrrrrgh!"? Obviously if you were winning and the other team managed to catch up, then they deserve at least a tie. And if you were losing and finally managed to catch up near the end of the game, I'd hate to lose the game because of a tie break. What you're suggesting is potentially a lot of work for developers to fix something that isn't really a problem.

Me too, and it's really frustrating.

 

I like this idea very much, however, I think that the overtime parameters still need some adjustments.

yeah . It's so annoying when you only needed like 4 more seconds to have won but it ran out when you where so so close to winning

I would not support this. Because this will suit some battles, while it would not suit some. For example it would suit small time limit games, but not the flag, kill or point limit. An RU1 good polygon cp battle takes 2 hours to finish already

Yes. I remember, when I was in a XP/BP battle, and my team needed one more flag to finish the battle at least as a tie. I was carrying that last flag, and I couldn't capture it, because the time was up. And I really needed just one second to reach our flag and capture (Not kidding). It was really frustrating like you have no idea.

Well. It probably would be a pro option. Cause a overtime could end in a standstill that could last a good 5-10 or more minutes . I've had tied 15 minute battles that where 2-2. Ended up capping a 3rd flag in the last minute
