Add a "minimum skill" restriction to battles

Recommended Posts

So why Tanki doesn't implement a mechanism like in CS:GO

There should be added "Group Skills" It's like new ranks but you are getting a better rank on how you play, not on how much EXP you earn.

You can have the rank Legend but the group skill "Silver I" and your friend is Legend but his group skill is "Silver III"

you both have the same rank but different skill group, so you can't join with your friend because he is too good for you.

I hope you understand my idea.

Valid

Pretty sure we had something like this before. Don't know how it would work in Tanki Online, since it doesn't have a system for reducing equipment modification to make fair matches between players of equal skill but different ranks.

The planned Ratio or Rating battles will have the aim to bring players of the same or similar skill level together. If I understand you correctly, then this fits pretty well to your suggestion. You have to consider tho, that is kind of controversial how to measure skill.

I think the prerequisite for the rating battles is the implementation of the matchmaking system (custom battles), so it will take some time to get it done. If there is a wish to cancel out equipment effects there needs to be a system to restrict the allowed modification level and MUs need to be turned off as well.

So, is it like "more battles you win you get more skill" or?

I don't see how you would gain "skill".. Can you explain?

It could be the same method used to calculate the rating. And battles could be limited by ratings, rather than ranks.

Sometimes there are players that know how to turn their turrets but don't use it.

For me. If I don't turn my turret in a battle for more than 30 seconds. It's because I'm eating a meal while playing, for example: pizza :P

phd comics?

:p

As Tani_S explained the rating-battles system will do something like that.

But it looks to me, that the dev's plan to make the access to rating-battles only through an automated system (like todays battle-button).

It would be cool to have free access to such battles.

(yes, I know that the dev's plan those battles as meassure vs mults.. but if mult's would be targeted in another way, we could have battles on same skill level with open access to them.. would be cooler).

Skill group will be really nice for tanki... There rank doesn't matter the more time you spend the better rank you're in

If there is a skill group it will be really really good and if you can put voice chat for the peopke with high skill group It will be really NICE

P.S. Skill group for each format. XP BP or XP same skill group so that even low ranked players like 3 star [i forgot name XD] can play with pros if they're skilled enough

Please stick to one idea per topic.

As we had ideas about voice chat recently, I removed the voice chat idea; and merged the skill group idea here.

I don't see why moving your turret has anything to do with skill?  Have to admit I'm one of these players with a broken neck and don't move their turret, and while I freely admit I'm never going to be close to #1 tanki player of all time, can still out fight plenty that scoff at the idea of not turning.  There's plenty more about putting your tank in the right place, than which way your turret is facing. Unless your in DM going with the flow in the team.

Moving your turret is basic stuff.  Without doing it most of the trickshots are impossible

You dont know the importance cuz you don't play any official matches

"Moving your turret is basic stuff".  I agree. One can "get by" without that, but you perform better when you can do it.

"trick-shots" and "official matches" however...

What does that have to do with 90% of battles fought in tanki?

Just play in EU2.

None of the Legend players are so noob that they literally don't know about the use of z, x, and c. Some players might not use it a lot, but they still know how to do it. Playing a game for that long to reach the highest rank and not knowing the controls would be an achievement.

Well I totally support your idea..it really suck when you lose a match because of 1 or 2 tankers who could barely move their tanks or get their aiming right...

I think that battles should be separated by equipment levels rather than rank. At high ranks, where there are lots of M4s, skill matters. But below ranks with maxed-out equipment, skill means little to nothing. People who buy and have high-level equipment (e.g. having an m3/m3 combo at First Lieutenant), and also drug, have a huge advantage against skilled players with average equipment (that m3/m3 vs. an m2/m2). If equipment were separated into different numbered classes, like level 0 for m0/m0s, level 3 for m1/m1s, level 6 for m2/m2s, level 9 for m3/m3s, and level 12 for m4/m4s. The 3 different levels between them would be there to differ between MU levels and equipment-to-equipment differences. That way, equipment levels are separated, roughly equal, and skill can finally make a difference for low-rankers.

I've heard a lot of complaints like that. Some turrets have a very slow rotation speed and the tank actually turns faster than the turret. In the heat of battle, which one would you turn? The slow turret or the fast tank?

Some players prefer to MU the hull first and then the turret. Turning speed of the hull and rotation speed of the turret is increased with each MU. If you MU the hull first, then the turning speed of the hull can be much quicker than that of the turret.

How would you implement this?

How do you measure ability to turn the turret?
