[Declined] Idea for XT Alterations

As we all know, XTs are meant to be better (in terms of looks) and similar when it comes to playing, but alterations make disadvantage to XTs as they cost 2x the price and doesn't even have alterations. So, I would suggest the devs to give alterations to XTs too.

Devs don't like the fact that they had to add XTs as separate items, which is why they don't want to add any more XTs or alterations for them until they figure out a way to combine them so that players don't have to buy the same things twice. Once that happens, XT will probably be like an upgrade from M3 which you buy and it only gives you special looks with no power increase. Therefore you won't have to MU it all over again or buy separate alterations.

Yes, but you would still have to buy them for an extra cost of 500K. But at least you will keep the MU's unlike right now.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. If a new expensive modification is added after M3 and it simply gives a new texture without any actual upgrade, then it will basically act as a skin. And something like that can probably be implemented without much effort, since the general concept of changing textures via modifications is already there.

After listening to the live stream from Semyon Strizhak @Opex-Rah. I noticed a number of interesting details that stood out to me.

Firstly, I am sure that there is something wrong with my logic in here somewhere. My proposal is based on the following items he discussed.

-Potentially dumping M3 Alterations.

-Change XT equipment into skins
-Adding Alterations for Hulls

 

My proposal is based on all three of these potential changes. 

Semyon mentioned that having both XT equipment and regular equipment for the same hull or turret, is tedious and unnecessary. And I agree, because there are players in this game with M4 XT and normal of the same piece of equipment. So he proposed that XT equipment be transitioned into skins. And at the same time, removing M3 alterations altogether. I would propose that M3 alterations for turrets not be removed, and alterations for hulls be added. Instead of changing the functionality of the hull or turret; the M3 alteration be the XT skin change. I believe that this should be a fairly easy change to implement. This is so, because M1 alterations can only be purchased on M1 modifications and higher. And M2 alterations for M2 and M3. Which means that M3 alterations can only be purchased on M3. So, if the M3 alteration for a turret or hull is an XT, the availability for XT would still be at the rank of Marshal. (with the exception of kits) 

 

Also, like the current XT equipment, the alterations could still be priced at 500,000 crystals for premium tankers only. And the XT super missions for Generalissimo and Legend, could easily have the award changed from (turret/hull) XT M3 x 1 to (turret/hull) XT M3 alteration x 1. Both of these changes would essentially leave the current XT system in place. But would merge current XT equipment into the standard equipment. 

 

If this change would be implemented. I would propose that players should not only be given the M3 alteration(s) of their current XT equipment, but also compensated for the upgrades spent on the XT equipment. I suggest this because, I know many tankers, including myself, who have M4 XT equipment and spent many crystals into upgrading it. And if XT is merged with the standard to create on hull or turret with just an M3 Alteration which happens to be an XT Skin, all upgrades on the XT would be lost. 

 

If this were to be introduced. It would solve @Titanium's XT question. Because all equipment would be standard only and therefore have all normal alterations including the proposed M3 alteration of XT skins.

I am open to any feedback, and would like to see this idea considered.

No. None of the XT turrets have alterations at the moment.

I suppose the only catch to this proposal would be a formatted battle such as XP/BP. Because alterations would be switched off and therefore make the proposed M3 alteration (XT skin) unusable. Unless there was a change in the format settings to allow only specific alterations.
