[Declined] Ideas for pro battle settings

I'm seeing so many battles with no clock, no drugs, and worst of all, no auto finish timer and the only way to end it is to capture a set number of flags (usually over 25 flags) in ctf, or hold a set number of points in cp (usually over 200 points). And ppl call them "high fund battles". I call them "high lag battles". <_<

 

So my idea is to remove the option to disable the auto finish timer, and make the drugs settings and clock settings dependent on each other. For ex: if drugs are off, then you won't be able to turn the clock off as well or vice versa.

But You can have the drugs and clock on at the same time, and the auto finish timer will always be on.

 

And my second idea is to merge drug boxes and drug keys into one setting as drugs.

 

This idea is mainly to eliminate the wide abuse of creating such lousy battles that I've been seeing nowadays.

Why would you suggest restricting the customisation of battle settings? If you don't like those battles, just don't enter them. Some players like these settings and there is absolutely no reason to remove them, as they don't bother anyone.

Have you noticed that 90% of all mid rank PRO battles are set to this, which leaves me with very few choices?

 

I don't mind drugs being off, but what I really don't like is the long battles that have no timer, and no clock. And I have come to think that they are the main reason why there is so much lag in tanki nowadays.

Perhaps the solution is wrong, but there is some merit in his complaint.  As you say of course, don't join if you don't like the battle, but I wonder about battles that are meant to last for 600 minutes, have no other time outs, or set limits.  Do these actually finish and some lucky mug played 10 hours to win, or do they eventually end up empty and finally time out?  Something could be tweaked, but I admit I don't have the answer.

PRO Battle settings needs a tweak, in my opinion, there are many options that don't make sense. There should be limits to the customization.

 

Like I said in another thread: too many options become too many battles you don't like.

 

The option to turn off auto finish timer should only be in Parkour and Clan for example. Same for Auto Balance.and Friendly Fire.

 

The option to turn off weapon change... Why?

 

1 minute battles? The minimum should be 5, and there should be a reasonable maximum.

 

I think there could be better options to replace those, like possibly two forms of SCD, the regular one and the one they're trying to find out with the experiments. Others could be an option to select a modification level, or disable modules.

Yes, they finish, often because of server restart. And yes, people play them for many hours at a time. I'm sure there have been multiple examples of players making such a battle right after the server restart and playing there for 24 hours all the way until the next one. Those people get tens of thousands of points and hundreds of thousands of crystals. Just check the Tanki Records topic for some examples :D

I doubt that any real person can do that nonstop. I think those are bots

And besides I know of a better and faster way to get high funds than this,

 

But we'll need individual supplies settings and equipment settings. Once we have those, then come talk to me.

I also think it's not completely normal. Definitely not bots, but more likely to be two siblings or multiple people playing on the same account and taking turns. But trust me, there are definitely individuals out there who are prepared to play a game for 24 hours straight, so it's not totally impossible.

What's the purpose of doing that? Other than to finish the battles with your funds intact?

Pretty sure there's no other purpose other than farming crystals quickly. If you think about it, such battles can yield over 100k per game. That's a full M3 garage in under a month.

But I don't know, perhaps these people also get some sort of enjoyment from doing the same thing over and over again for hours at a time...

People (including me) play long battles because it is great at getting a good EXP to Crystal ratio. If you play a long battle, you: 1) Don't waste time looking for another one, and time is money (crystals :P). 2) Everytime someone leaves a battle, their crystals that they were going to earn is divided up between all the current players in the game. The longer the battle, the more this happens, so the more crystals you earn. Here is a perfect example of this:

I turned weapons change off, so people would have to leave and forfeit their crystals to me. It worked brilliantly as you can see.

You just proved my point that the Weapon Change Off is not a good option for PRO Battles, people abuse it.

I would say "abused" is the wrong word. Tankers should know that when they join battles that have no equipment change, they run the risk of losing their battle fund. Regardless, this option should be kept anyway because sometimes people want a battle where everyone is not constantly changing protections and turrets (I have been in many Arena CPs where the team with that the changed the most to fit their opposition won; it's not particularly fun :P).

People should know better, but they don't. And the indicators are small and confusing. We learn with time. And there will always be new noobs. Meanwhile you keep tricking them and reaping the benefits.  :angry:  :)

 

The new 5 minute time for changing equipment makes that feature unnecessary. For me 5 is a little too much BTY.

 

So we could compromise, make one of 4 minutes for regular battles and another of 8 minutes as an option in PRO Battles.  ;)
