Preventing scam via email change

Recommended Posts

I see many young kids getting suckered into putting or replacing their current e-mail account with another account that have no access to because of their greediness as they do not know any better. Maybe just filter out everything that has the ".com, .org, .net" (since links are forbidden in chat anyway) and the "@" sign in ALL chats just as a precaution.

When they register, maybe a verification window that pops up BEFORE the e-mail is sent through:

Please make sure YOU have access to the e-mail, otherwise just hit CANCEL and enter a valid e-mail that you personally have access to. If you DO NOT have the password to this e-mail and was told by someone else to enter a specific e-mail, then it is a hack attempt.

I'm not sure of the wording, but something like this.

Filtering all links isn't the best idea because it will restrict normal communication in chat and make it inconvenient, only for the sake of getting rid of occasional scammers. Sometimes adding restrictions for the sake of safety isn't a better options since it negatively impacts the game overall.

P.S.  Please make sure you NEVER post examples of scam on the forum in any form. You could get banned for it even if you're just trying to warn others about the dangers of scam.
