Based off my experience and battle statistics:

 

1. Ricochet

2. Firebird

3. Twins

4. Thunder

5. Freeze

6. Hammer

7. Smoky

8. Railgun

9. Isida

10. Shaft

11. Striker

12. Vulcan

Ya'll must be crazy. Shaft is the best by a long way and by that I mean it usually has 15-20 more kills than the second placed tanker.

Not in Ping-Pong or Island... ;)

Sometimes I see Shafts killed within 5 seconds of spawning, every time.  I assume you are playing on large maps and drugging?

 

Shaft does surprisingly well in Polygon DM now. There are no secure sniping spots but a lot of good positions where you can get quite a few kills if you pick your targets right. My D/L was over 2 and I was in third, playing with similar ranks, using Hunter-Shaft in Poly DM.   The extra damage really helps and prevents you from giving others targets.

 

So it all depends on the user.

Firebird with both alts. Insta kill on hornets if 50/50 with DD

I would say Thunder. Good damage per shot and splash damage means that it's good for kill-stealing (even for multiple enemies at once) and decent firing rate and damage means that it can still get a lot of kills on its own. The only problems are splash damage and close-range weapons.

It is definitely Smoky & Railgun. Because with Smoky u can stole the kills from other player & with Railgun double kills.

Anything with drugs will rule any battle there's nothing else to it

Personally, I really prefer to use vulcan. You can get a crazy amount of kills with it, especially in maps like esplande, massacre, and bridges. Once I got 72 kills in a 15 minute battle, and I only used pick-ups. I generally use dictator m1 with it, but I use titan m1 or mammoth m1 if there are a bunch of shafts and strikers camping in the area. I would also recommend thunder just because of the crazy splash damage it has.

Depends on the map. In small maps for sure close range weapons work well even in some mid to long range battles and of course it depends on the one who is using and how effective he/she is going their Turret.

Only map I play DM on is Polygon. I use Smoky there.

I've been playing with Shaft for as long as I remember, and it does wonderfully in DMs providing you have the skills for it.

 

You'll do especially well when you know how to use the mouse control feature to give you extra situational awareness, and in drug wars, all you need are a stack of double powers to dominate ;)

I've been playing DM a lot in the past few days to get the 250 kill missions sone, and I finish first 90% of the times with rail + high calibre + DD.

I play on the largest of maps - Massacre, Osa, Deathtrack, Kungur, Esplanade etc., and always manage around 40 to 50 kills atleast.

 

I can make 60+ kills in a 15 minute game if I can find a friendly rail to team up with.

 

You just need to use a few repair kits to protect your camping position from any intruders, and place mines all around it.

 

I don't use DA often, because it puts a long cooldown on DD.

 

People have rail protection, but despite that, it is easy to get kills as almost nobody is ever full health in DM for long.

 

You can sometimes get 2 or 3 kills in one shot.

That is a lot of fun, 3 people fighting amongst themselves, and a fourth guy gets them all!
