I need to look for a new game... Tanki is gonna die soon. I was going to get a £1500 gaming PC for Tanki X and all those good games. But why should I? Alternitiva Platform is dying, they're poor. I might as well just get an £800 PC since I'm not going to be playing Tanki X. If I do choose to play Tanki Online in the future for whatever reason, even a £150 PC will work.

OK, I am probably just complicating this and interpreting this with a paranoid bent, but might this mean SUPPLIES?  

 

In the garage, the only thing we actually buy in bulk is supplies...as a kit of 100 units of each type of drug.  Please tell me I'm wrong here and supplies will still be sold in the garage with a 50% discount as a kit.

see if you did put money into this game to help sustain the employment and existence for this game to continue . also to create  tanki x.. then i would say i understand you... but seeing you want a game for free ..which only gives you limited game play and items , its hard to imaging not wanting to get ahead of the Jones in a  game .. see its all ways been a one man / woman's game we all look out for our self's to get ahead of others.. but when you invest in a game as long as most buyers have ( which are now a family ) who also  enjoy the game..are the ones who are  keeping , this one a float ..its hard to comprehend what the Dev's and others plans are for the future of the game / company... so in the end we buyers are the ones who are keeping this game afloat so you can continue to play for free .. cause Tanki do's not have any other revenue ( that we are aware of ) coming in to support there wages and other items they need to run this part of the game ...the staff that works for this company get paid in real money .. the mods and others only get paid in crystals ..

I also understand that the developers need to get paid.  What I do not understand is the need to make these unjustified changes.  If I pay for a car that has 500 hp I get that 500hp for the life of the car.  If I pay to upgrade a Thunder to an M3 fully MUed, then it should stay an M3 fully MUed and not nerfed.  Which part of this don't you understand?

It is not the fact that some items cost real money that people have a beef with Tanki.  It is the fact that when you pay for something either in real money or hard earned crystals, Tanki arbitrarily reduces the value of that purchase.

It seems that you as a buyer have no concept of value.  I would have no problem of paying a fare share to keep the game afloat as long as:

1.  I get what I paid for.  So far, all my investments have lost value.

2. The errors are fixed before new features are introduced.  Lag and the nebulous "an error has occurred" need to say more?

3. The changes introduced make the game better.  How does having to pay for a Pro Pass in order to create a battle makes the game better?

"obviously im not a highly trained developer"  Don't feel bad! neither are the Tanki "developers"!  I know: I have been a Director of Software development for over 30 years and I have fired better developers than the ones who work for Tanki! If they applied for a job at my company and they listed Tanki as their employer, their application wouldn't even make it past HR!  I am also a professor at a US University teaching IT related courses and I can tell you that if a student of mine produced code like Tanki, would not even get a passing grade.

Forget about old bad updates. Criticize this one. You'll forget this too after another update..!!

Most of this is the same sort of stupidity that happened in the redefinition of capabilities a while back.  All the hulls got smushed from 6 types to 3. Now we have flattening of turrets so that an M0 is closer to an M3.  Why not go all the way, Tanki, while you are ruining the game?  Get rid of all the hull variations and all the turret variations.  Just make all the paint green.  Might as well take away terrain features while you're at it.  Just make every map flat.  And why bother with CTF, TDM, and CP when you can just make it DM all the way? 

 

Just make everyone use Smoky M0 on an M0 titan with no supplies and no upgrades.  That looks like where you're headed anyway.

 

You can get rid of 3D rendering.  2D, right?  Just a bunch of little green circles moving around on a flat white page making "pop-pop" noises and making numbers turn over.  The FUTURE of Tanki!

 

The only good thing I see about the changes is reducing the number of steps in the MU chain.  Of course, there used to be less until Tanki screwed that up (remember?).  We told you then that 50 steps was ***STUPID*** but Tanki didn't listen.  So that change is just undoing some of the damage you did LAST time you messed with the process.  But that's Tanki - never time to find and fix bugs.  Not enough time to roll out new turrets.  But PLENTY of time to screw up the game and introduce more problems.  Tanki never listens to its users.  Customer Service is an oxymoron (and worse than useless - gives out bad information.)  Is it a requirement that the people making these decision must be blind AND deaf and not very bright?

 

​The best change to Tanki in the past year was the addition of Stryker and some of the Holiday maps (Assault would have been a cool option to add to all maps - but Tanki devs are apparently too busy making STUPID and USELESS changes to actually add something worthwhile.)  When was the last time a kit was introduced?  Oh, but there's plenty of time to muck about with the discounts on kits.  Sheesh.

 

Meanwhile bugs still abound.  The "can't pick up that box" bug.  The "my gun doesn't do any damage" bug.  The "I can see the game, but I can't get back in Help! I'm trapped in limbo  " bug.  Or the one that every tanker sees every time they play - the, "That game was supposed to be filtered out on the game list" bug.  Really.  Such an OBVIOUS bug that's been right in front of EVERYONE'S face for years - and Tanki can't be bothered to fix it...  How embarrassing!

 

... but there's plenty of time to mess up the game with stuff no one wants.  Just like when you introduced  the 50-step micro upgrades.

I cannot tell you because I do not want to appear as if I am promoting any products on the Tanki forum.  That would not be professional.

The time needed for micro-upgrades should stay the same. Just the cost of the speed ups will increase.

As for your second question, I will ask for clarification, because it could mean several things.

 

Is the 50% discount on the garage 100 supply kit staying?...or is this discount being removed?

It won't be removed with this update at least.

 

1. Is this the stacked discounts to items in garage shop? Can someone explain what they mean by this?

2. This hit me the hardest  :mellow:

Up until now you would receive a small discount (10-30%) on the next hulls or turrets if you had bought several hulls or turrets of the same modification before. Those discounts will be removed with this update. So if you own 5 m2 turrets already, you will not automatically receive a small discount on the remaining m2 turrets.

 

How much will the difference be between M3 and M4? They said they are increasing M3 protection and damage, but by how much?

Currently unknown, we will have to wait till after the server restart to see the exact parameter changes.

 

I hope this doesn't mean that the 10% 20% 30% permanent discounts are not usable as discount enhancers anymore

That's exactly what it means. Those will be removed entirely.

 

Please don't remove the supply kit from the Garage, you already removed the 1K supply kit from it and it was hard to accept, it's enough. Also, bulk discounts really helped those players that weren't able to buy with real money in the game, even "buyers".

The supply kit won't be removed with this update.

You're wrong..;p the 'bulk' is referring to the discount on turrets and hulls you get when you already own several turrets or hulls of the same modification. These are the discounts that will be removed.

ok young SIR you need to understand not only I'm I a buyer but also a mother who knows the concept of money / business and other things.. for making of the game no I did not make it but I did invest my  money for there wages to keep this company a float same with so many other players.. sure this is a free to play game and its our choice wither to invest in it or not , and we choose to do it on our own free will.. in the end we did invest into this game to keep it running for all to enjoy ..regardless if its free or not.. it do's cost money to pay for the system upkeep along with other company items to keep this game going..we all have complained time after time on issues and still they continue to toss out up dates to give us a system which has issues with in.. for getting what we paid for its like Ostrica said once before ( similar to these words not exact ) but when you go to buy a item in the store and you paid for it , and in a few days later they change the product for a cheaper price do u expect to be able to return it and get it at a lower price ..( I'm referring to a chocolate bar which you just ate ) .. once its been consumed you wont be able to get it for a cheaper price.. so we know tanki nerf's there items and there will be updates .. but when they go and change the system to make the m4 which most of us worked hard to achieve over years of battles and then they go and lower the strength so it can work with others who are less experienced and upgraded / and we spend lots of our hard earn crystals to get where we are .. then yea we do has issues... see one thing also bothers me a little is the m0 garage when i started i had to pay for my items and then get m1 and so up the line to my m4 which i have just on the last update for mults been done so yea my crystals wasted for what...

Instead of making M4 weaker (in realtion to M3) it would have been more suitable to make M3+35/50 more affordable.

You compare scenarios with different targets.

 

In your scenario with the car, noone cares for how much hp you have. Besides that, you have a speed limit anyways.

 

Tanki is like a highway where on each day the slowest one will get shot dead. Believe me, that after a few days people will start to claim, that it is unfair, that you use a 500hp car, and will try to bring more fairness to the contest.

 

And this is what happens here. It's actually better if a game is more fair, then less fair.

But some of the apreaches they chose could be done better..
