Re-balance update patch #449

  • Changes to all M0 hulls and turrets:

    • All M0 hulls and turrets are now available from the rank of Recruit;

    • Prices of all M0 hulls and turrets changed slightly;

    • Values of all parameters (excluding damage) and protection decreased slightly.

  • Changes to damage and protection of all M0, M1, M2 and M3 hulls and turrets:

    • Increase in damage and protection;

    • Changes don’t apply to M3+ hulls and turrets.

  • Changes to micro-upgrades for all M1 hulls and turrets:

    • Number of steps decreased from 50 to 10;

    • Total step cost halved and equals the cost of the M2 modification of the item;

    • Speed up cost is 2 times higher than step cost on each step;

    • The aggregate value of steps and speed ups remains the same;

    • These changes apply only to M1 modifications of all hulls and turrets;

    • All existing and completed M1 micro-upgrades will be converted.

  • Rental of Alterations

    • Alterations can now be rented for 24 hours for the price of 5000 crystals

    • Rent for real money removed

  • Other changes

    • Bulk discounts for buying items of the same type removed

    • Discounts now don’t apply to product kits

    • Garage Info about product kits’ content simplified

    • Bonus supplies removed from the kits in the garage

I am very happy about this re-balance update patch #449 because it reduces the amount of micro upgrade steps (from 50 to 10), required for M0 and M1 modifications. I hope that in the near future, developers will come to a final decision on reducing the micro upgrade steps of M2, M3 and M3+ modifications as well.

This reduction on reducing the number of micro upgrade steps helps players save up lots of crystals, but at the same time allow players to micro upgrade much faster than previous.

Players like me who wants to have all M3+ (M4) equipment in their garage must also have a reduction in the number of steps, 50 to 10 for M3+ equipment because M3+ equipment is the most expensive to micro upgrade, so a reduction of steps is what the developers must think and change in the near future.

Because of the reduction of micro upgrade steps, each of the micro upgrade steps for each of the parameters of turrets, hulls and modules have been multiplied by the number of points according to the reduction in micro upgrade steps to reflect those changes.

This is a very good re-balance patch update though. This is only the beginning of this type of update, so the developers have mentioned in this post already that they will apply a reduction on micro upgrade steps for M2, M3, and possibly M3+ modifications as well.

After daily server restart, your M3+ equipment will be less overpowered in battles then it was. Please try to understand that.

So...small ranks will no longer be injected with tons of drugs for their kit purchase? Fine by me. ^_^ Anything to cripple the rampant addictions spreading through the game. BUT by removing discounts, you further drive the gap between buyer and non-buyer. You might as well make product kits a shop-only feature at this point.

The 10-step MU is a nice touch. I hope you consider expanding further, we M3s could use some love too. 50-steps is a long torture. :(

Like 95% of all M3 Kits will be over 1 000 000 crystals. :LOL: Thanks for ruining my alts plans Tanki. You're really getting good at it. Do you think making kits more expensive will decrease the gap between buyer and non-buyer, well it won't! I means only buyers will have Kit and supplies now. R.I.P low ranks.

These 'Patch Update' strike more fear into players than happiness. You know when one appears, players will be shot in the foot.

Lower ranks don't earn much supplies anyways, either do they earn enough crystals to be able to purchase them, however I agree on everything else

Tanki should just change the MU system for m2-m4 to how it is for the m0's. Then refund all crystals spent on MU's. This is because MU's are massively overpriced from m2-m4.

No. The developers have said that the M3+ micro upgrades will not change.

Will this update lead the path for M5 modification?

What's the point. If they go to M5 modification then they will be viewed as too overpowered. Then they would have to do another major re-balance to compensate. Why won't people realize that the more equal the more boring. In the old days the maps had more places in them for ambushes and sniping. They took them away because "It was unfair". Now they're doing the same with weapons and hulls. Everything has to have the same protections, everything has to have the same power. I think the proof is in the pudding. There has been a steady Overall decline in the number of players over the years from over 100,000 to around 50,000 on the severs at peak times. That should be a pretty good indication that wrong decisions are being made. The Dev's attitude lately has been let's adjust the things that most people like and forget the things that most have pointed out as the real problems in the game.

On average it's 19%.

Unlike say... some of the bumps for lower M-levels...

Smoky M2 has a 52% damage advantage over Smoky M1. That's significant. 19%... not so much.

Or... unlike supplies, which offer 100% increase. You don't seem to have issue with that... :blink:

I have a ton of them, using supplies regularly, so it doesn't affect me too much.

a possible fix, buff m3+ stats like all others, add m4 items that are unlocked at legend rank or so, this way, no current players would hate the change, and new items would be out ;) and we could decide if getting an m4+ is worth it

also minimise rank limits to ensure m2 dont really pla against an m4+

ok young SIR you need to understand not only I'm I a buyer but also a mother who knows the concept of money / business and other things.. for making of the game no I did not make it but I did invest my  money for there wages to keep this company a float same with so many other players.. sure this is a free to play game and its our choice wither to invest in it or not , and we choose to do it on our own free will.. in the end we did invest into this game to keep it running for all to enjoy ..regardless if its free or not.. it do's cost money to pay for the system upkeep along with other company items to keep this game going..we all have complained time after time on issues and still they continue to toss out up dates to give us a system which has issues with in.. for getting what we paid for its like Ostrica said once before ( similar to these words not exact ) but when you go to buy a item in the store and you paid for it , and in a few days later they change the product for a cheaper price do u expect to be able to return it and get it at a lower price ..( I'm referring to a chocolate bar which you just ate ) .. once its been consumed you wont be able to get it for a cheaper price.. so we know tanki nerf's there items and there will be updates .. but when they go and change the system to make the m4 which most of us worked hard to achieve over years of battles and then they go and lower the strength so it can work with others who are less experienced and upgraded / and we spend lots of our hard earn crystals to get where we are .. then yea we do has issues... see one thing also bothers me a little is the m0 garage when i started i had to pay for my items and then get m1 and so up the line to my m4 which i have just on the last update for mults been done so yea my crystals wasted for what...

"ok young SIR"  LOL! I wish I were a "young SIR"! Unless you consider someone  approaching 60 a "young SIR"! As I said in another post, I am an IT professional with over 30 years of experience and I know a thing or two about systems upkeep and such!  As a matter of fact I am responsible for managing a department with an annual budget of $9,000,000! (probably more than the entire value of Tanki) It is not about that I cannot afford to be a buyer if I want to, but I choose not to be since I know the product that I am buying today will change tomorrow not because of depreciation (i hope you understand the term) but because someone thought it is a good idea to make it so.  As far as the product "been consumed" it is not so. I do not "consume" my tank as I "consume" a chocolate"! Just as I do not consume my car.  Rather I keep using the tank as I use my 700 series BMW.  However, I do not see BMW coming to me and saying sorry but now we have to put a smaller engine in your 700 series Beemer to make it more competitive with the 500 series! never mind the fact that I paid for a 700 series and now I am getting a 500!  See the difference? Again I am not complaining about the money per se, but for the fact that I do not get to keep what I paid for originally.  A fact that has nothing to do whether the game is free or not.   Besides, in other games you can sell back the equipment you don't want at a reduced price of course which makes more sense since it account for the fact that I used it (remember depreciation?) and it gives me the opportunity to purchase something new without cluttering my garage with useless equipment.  But then again what do I know in such "young age"!

Tanki is finally coming to terms with the fact that new players are not sticking around,referring to what they call the onboarding process. I expect that more reductions will be implemented gradually with careful analysis as to not disrupt paywalls.

Existing veteran players have already onboarded and will likely never see much of a savings beyond the discounts that you are familiar with.

If anything your only expectations you can look forward to are more things to purchase and they along with all products at M3 and beyond will continue to be out of reach of 95% of players thru in game rewards.

This is the basis of every Mmog f2p game, whilst it is my impression that this game has taken it to the extreme compared to many well known platforms.

The eccomic model of this game is still seriously broken imo.

It is no fun when you cannot buy basically anything in this game without buying game currency with real money past M2, and if you can, it takes several months of meaningless grinding between each reward.

The vast majority of players in this platform have been here for yrs and this is their last chance to make it work.

I wish them luck with this, though for myself, The would run too deep to ever enjoy the game as I did before the introducting of XT equipment, that was imo the moment the game started to fail.

I think we will see more Smoky M1+s, Fire M1+s, Wasp M1+s and Titan M1+s at lower ranks. Bad news for Rails, Isidas and Hornets.

It will be interesting to see how the new damage and protection numbers affect the balance. Will Shaft, Hammer and Rico still be OP? Probably.

When your team is dominating, bring Shaft so you can annihilate the other team, rise your K/D numbers and get more crystals because people in the other team will be leaving.

The update is not bad though... in my opinion. Just wait and see.

this is funny Sir .. and i do fully agree with the sale of items sold back , many games do do this .. and yes I'am also not as young as you may thing. you are talking with a mother who is 54 yrs old and know the computer and gaming industry for years.. so when i started my system was so different then what it is now ,along with other items in my garage .. so yea i do get your point and what has been going on is wrong / I do understand when there are changes to improve the item but.. we have been seeing the improvements going back to the stone ages instead of moving forward.... this is why most of these players who have been here for over a year know what they had before all these up grades or changes are..so its hard to swallow some of the new changes..

for the % on garage items being removed this can be looked in a good way but then also sad .. see when players who can't afford to buy $$ with cash on m3 kits ...now forces them to pay full price when items are not on sale .. this gives buyers a boost over non buyers.. this is also why we have players still using m2 fully upgraded turrets and hulls in battles until sales happen, then you see more buying with crystals.. those are the players who loose out.. cause now ( with out a sale ) there either having to wait for a good sale or pay in crystals full price for single m3 items..

so in the end tanki is leaving non players out in the rain .. and buyers will be ahead of others..
