A probable solution.

Just categorise the missions and mark them as could be completed in a pro batle and not.

You could put those missions in the second category which can be completed easily by misusing pro battles like finish first in a battle,etc. , the probable reason you made this update in the first place.

 

 

 

Had to repost in this colour cause probably not many people saw it before.  :mellow:

 

 

The auto created battles are usually something like a 10v10 Rio CP with ranks that go up to either general, or legend there are NO other options. I am working on a youtube vid to illustrate my point. I scrolled through 3 different servers looking for a deathmatch last night for a 25 kill mission. ALL of the battles went up to general, and I joined one, and blew most of my DA, and all of my DD to achieve a .5 DL, and get my 25 kill mission in about 45 minutes.

A few questions to Tanki personnel about this Mission change:

 

Why has the cost of changing a mission increased after this update?  You make us work harder but tax us more to change the missions that we don't like.

 

Why have my mission rewards mainly consisted of speed ups and mines?  Maybe your mission system is not so random after all.  Surely not coincidental that my least used supplies are speed boxes and mines - In fact all 3 of my mission rewards this morning were paltry mine and speed box combos.  Come on Tanki scrap your reward algorithm and make rewards truly random and meaningful.

 

Where is the evidence of the increase in mission rewards?   :angry:   I certainly have not seen any increased rewards since the launch of this update.  But then again you maybe tried to reward me with an extra mine and speed up

 

If you want us to continue to spend time in this game then at least take away the grind so we at least can get some kind of enjoyment from these activities.

Sorry to any tankers that I may have upset in my drug fuelled kill frenzy mission battles over the last 3 days.  I had a XT Rail kill mission which had been in progress since before the new year and since I lost faith in the developments team, I decided to go for the final 2.5k kills.

 

So yeah the 9999 kill mission can very easily be completed in this new environment (in fact it is probably much easier than before), but my efforts have alienated many players and broken up many battles along the way.  Once a team is camped in the enemy's spawning ground then it is pretty much game over.

 

COME ON TANKI YOU CAN DO MUCH BETTER

Had some spawn killing fun, and our team had many more WOs then theirs did. It still only lasted 2 minutes, as I had no heal boxes, and the Thunders were wearing me down.

Tanki I just play pro battles with no drugs and some with no timer and now I can do my missions. Come on now I need to buy drugs now I need to play in battle I do not like just because I can't Complete my super mission in pro battles. This need to be change plz tanki

Ok, here is my solution:

 

Hazel mentioned the problem with Island 1v1 & Wasp-Firebirds (super mission). These are unacceptable for me as well. But playing Pro battles and finishing missions there are an important part of the game for many tankers.

 

In my opinion finishing missions in Pro battles should be allowed but we can make certain limits to avoid "cheating".

 

Look at the current mission types:

Earn XP (gamemode)/destroy enemies: I don't think there is a difference between pro and regular battles. Except the Island Fire-Wasp abuse of course, which gives a huge advantage especially for super missions.

Collect boxes: Not much difference either. You can collect boxes on any map.

Finish first: That's obviously much easier in a 1v1 pro battle, as you will be first 100%.

Capture points: I believe this is not a hard mission both in pro and regular battles. Can be done in one battle on a bigger map with lots of points.

Capture flags: Another problematic mission. 1v1 Island CTF, and you're done in minutes, while it can be hard in regular battles.

 

How to fix these problems while allowing players to complete missions in Pro battles?

 

There should be certain type of pro battles where you can play missions:

 

The number of allowed players must be at least 8 (4/team). There goes the Island Fire-Wasp and 1v1 problems. You cannot finish missions on Island anymore and also cannot make a Sandbox 1v1 or something similar to catch flags and finish first easily. You have to fight for it.

 

Time limit (if there is one) must be at least 15 minutes. You can't finish missions in 1 minute battles (finish first particularly).

 

Flag limit must be at least 10, point limit at least 100, kill limit in TDM at least 100, kill limit in DM at least 25. No 1 kill or 1 flag battles to finish missions in seconds.

 

You can create battles with 1 kill or 1 flag for fun, just finish your missions elsewhere.

 

I want to ask the players and staff members if they like my idea. Any feedback is welcome. I know this compromise solution isn't perfect either, but I believe it's much more fair to all players.

My opinion is that they should have left the  missions alone.

 

However, looking at it from a practical viewpoint (meaning Hazel is too stubborn to reverse the update) then yes, I would approve of any compromise that enables players who like playing in PRO battles to finish their missions while doing so.

Pretty much, its generally unfair for those who want to continue paying for pro battle passes, the aim of this change was just to force players to join regular battles since they obviously realized majority of players were too smart to complete those missions in regular battles

Your ideas are good but could be too confusing for some players. It will require like a Terms and Conditions and an FAQ. People could learn though.

My explanations generally takes lots of time and usually there are not that many people to agree with me. This is why anything you can see in VLOG sounds like bollocks :) Have to cut longer explanations to shorter ones.

 

And I tend not to take part in hellstorm discussions during updates as they are not discussions at all. Emotions, most of the time. My job is not to convince people of anything, this is why my involvement is almost pointless. Most of the time I discuss only upcoming changes otherwise the only thing I achieve is making people more angry. Which is what will probably happen after this comment but oh well.

 

Tanki Online is changing. Modern concepts of convenient gameplay experience demand matchmaking system. It is proven concept and work quite good for new generation of games. Tanki Online stuck in the past in this regard. But moving overnight from current battle list to MM won't be easy and will require some adaptation.

 

The closest case to Tanki Online is Team Fortress in regards of matchmaking update. Previously TF was almost like TO with server list, but they changed it around a year ago. That wasn't easy but it was worth it in the end. Though TF did not removed server list (battle list in regard to TO) entirely. What they did they left it as a custom game option.

 

This is where Tanki Online is going as well.

 

Eventually we will introduce Matchmaking system that will handle rank difference and battle creation just as easy as in Team Fortress or Overwatch. By the push of a button. Current battle list will move to custom game option. You can say that battle list will be only available via pro-battles (they might be free of charge in this case) and will be highly customizable.

 

In this regard this update cons doesn't outweigh the pros. On the contrary this update does work as intended. As there is no intent on my side to encourage players to take part in custom games (which are pro-battles at the moment) to the detriment of normal games. The only reason to play custom games in the future will be the urge for new experience, as these days it is mostly wasp+firebird (you can argue it is not, but I got the numbers).

 

Team Fortress and Overwatch might give you a sneak peek on how this system will work in Tanki Online when implemented. Quick and easy matchmaking is supported by highly customizable custom game list. There is interesting moment to OW as they removed experience gain in custom games shortly after they introduced that option to the game as players quickly found a way to grind EXP with minimal effort by certain game options. Something for you to think about.

 

I believe it might be worth arguing whether we should or shouldn't change the game at all, but this will not work for Tanki as it works for other games there are. This game going to reach 8 years in action this year. Most games update their system by releasing new version and forcing players to migrate to new versions starting from scratch. A bad idea for Tanki Online as we can see it with at least Tanki X's case.

 

Choosing between forcing everybody to grind through the game all over again and forcing to deal with non-easy updates I choose the latter.

Just make a new symbol for "mission compatible" Pro battles. Problem solved.

Got all my missions done, including 250 kill "supermission". Then played a 10 minute drug-free Noise CTF to play with new Luger, I mean, magnum and rico. got about 1000K in BF and 1300 exp over 9 matches. The most hated part for me is starting to become the Rank brakcet, 95% of eligible battles had my rank in the middle, I understand this is due to how Tanki determines which battles to show me, but still I hate playing with people who outrank me by a whole order of magnitude. Rank brackets really ought to shrink as you go higher, from 5 at ltCol, to 4 at Brig, to 3 at Gizmo. I saw an m3+ Wasp. Me, a Firstie with an M1.0 Hunter, against and M4 Wasp. WTH Tanki! I refuse to make a PRO battle with Lt Cols and Captains and Majors, I'm not stupid, nor am I Superman (a hoe). But it sucks great donkey to have to play with WOs. I feel so bad abotu slaughtering them with my M2 freeze or Rico, and they really ruin a game with their pestering noobiness. They're not noobs per se, but the choices they make based off their garage, and the fact they have 1/6th the exp I do, means bad decision bad decisions bad decisions tht can really reckt a game for all involved. And their stupid day shift mouths : Gold? was gold? When gold? bla bla bla. More to life than 1/10000 ÷ 18 gold boxes.

 

Either the rank brackets needs to shrink or:

-make it player selectable; from 5 in any direction to 1 in any direction.

-Change ranks up to that you rank every 50K exp

-abolish kits

The 'mission compatible symbol' is a good idea too, but it'll require more code and, since it is Tanki, it could cause more errors.

 

My idea is simpler:

 

Idea 31: PRO Missions

 

- Once you get a PRO Pass or have one you'll start seeing PRO Missions.

 

Examples: (for your rank)

 

- Earn 250 experience in battles (medium mission/rewards) (center)

 

- Earn 500 experience in Massacre (hard mission/ high reward) (right of center)

 

- Earn 100 experience in CP (easy mission/ low reward) (left of center)

 

- Earn x experience using a Light Hull

 

- Earn x experience with a Long range turret (this could be a way to control FireWasps)

 

- Finish 1st, capture 1 flag and pick up 1 DD in Island (1 speed boost reward) (April 1st 2018 PRO mission)

Thanks Hazel for this long/short explanation. I see that you have a plan of action and a final goal. Match making is definitely the way forward: player with the same level will fight together or against each other (drugs or no drugs will be taken into account).

 

The main problem with the last mission update is that it is more difficult than before the battle creation system. Before non-pro battle were also created and we had 1v1 or CTF on Island, now we can only find 2 maps on the menu from the 41 maps generated  with less than 10 players required (and you will be lucky to get those). So technically it's not like before, it's way harder, and harder than a 10% increase of reward. Taking CP points his easier than taking flags. It would be really appreciated to rethink some of the mission detail requirement to cue the new system difficulty level.

The funny thing is that i wrote to Cedric 3 times a letter and still waiting his responds although i got over 30 likes on my post. But when you are right and they know it they just have no answer to you. look at the face of the programmer with long hair when he said on the begining of the V-Log and i quote "It 's just not good for us" so we call that " I don't give a **** about the players we are intrested in money" SO if it is like the Latin preverb - MORS TUA VITA MEA = ur death for my life  :excl:  :excl:  :excl:  :excl:  :excl:  :excl: 

I herbley reccomand that we do this week a protest not playing just staying on the server chat all of us and if it is not working then we boycout tankionline till we get answers about this meanless updates in the past 6 months that raise the game unwilling and incouraging not!!!

I am going to decide this week or next whether to cancel my Legend 14 account. I have lost complete love for the game. I am so sad :-(

 

Mission update and Micro-Upgrade update, is the final straw.

I've bought in the past and am grateful to have played this game for as long as I have and have enjoyed it immensly. I don't think Tanki online really cares one way or another what we are all saying here. The only thing they understand is money which they will NOT be getting anymore from me (or my meatspace friends).  They may never know why revenue is decreasing but we all sure do.  I quit for 9 months and recently started playing again a month ago, however this 'update' stinks bad. I'll be taking an extended break again and revisit every once in a while to see if things have improved.

that mean i am definitely done with this game... shame, i liked it from 2012 but this is last nail in the coffin. rather spend my money elswhere :(

First, you take away our ability to create normal battles (without paying), then you take away our ability to complete our missions in the only battles that we can create!  

 

On top of that, I just got finished MU'ing my turret to m4 over a long period of time for a total of about 1,000,000 (that's right 1M) crystals .... now you want to let everyone do it for the same price as an upgrade?   (give me my crystals back!) 

 

What a bunch of fools you are!   Are you purposefully TRYING to kill off this game?
