[Declined] Idea for magnum's aiming

Recommended Posts

Whoever tried magnum, knows how it feels like to aim. You don't even know where the shell is gonna land, most of the time you shoot with 'luck'.
What if a new view was added? Like a view from the top of the map. This turret is called artillery for some reason, and it's meant for camping, not for close combat. I think it would balance the turret more this way, because all other turrets are really easy to aim, you just shoot and the shell goes there with the speed of light, so giving an advantage to magnum isn't a bad idea. A view like this wouldn't make this turret overpowered, I hope you take this into considerationAlexandrovsk.jpg

I don't know how long you played with Magnum, but after 10-15 hours you'll start getting the feel of it. I have 14 hours with Magnum on my record and I can already guess the angle and power well enough to be able to shoot accurately at medium distances without even looking at the numbers. Today I was sitting on the blue base on Aleksandrovsk and I one-shot a Shaft that was sitting on the end of the road (top-right of your screenshot) from the first try. I admit that it was a bit of luck and I was amazed at how I managed to do that, but there's no denying that mastering Magnum aiming as it is at the moment is hard, but not impossible.

Developers definitely won't be implementing your idea as it will turn Magnum gameplay into a simple point-and-click adventure, which is not what Tanki Online is about. If you have any more suggestions for Magnum, please post in the News topic.

I mean you would only see where the enemies are, it's not gonna tell you where the shell will land anyways

Yeah, they still don't want to do that. Maybe the camera angle will be improved a bit, but there definitely won't be a view from above like you suggest.

10-15 hours or minutes? It took me around 5 minutes to start hitting plyers with first 2 shots.

Magnum aim must be added to mouse controls.

The lowest the camera angle comes down is horizontally flush with your tank, or flat.

The highest the camera angle comes up is vertically flush with your tank, or overhead.

The flat camera angle should be adjusted to where if we are on a ramp or leaning on a prop, this way we could see what's over our heads or what's on higher ground.

This way, the devs don't have to do anything if the tank is just on flat ground
